EQUILIBRIUM - Shelter (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) 

Really not my cup of tea but I'm sure some people will like it. Not gonna lie, I do miss the old sound and would love new songs more in that direction. Not at all against bands evolving, but this is just too far removed from what people liked about Equilibrium. (IMO)

Wird zeit für nen neuen Bandnamen, dann werden wir nicht ständig an die guten alten Zeiten erinnert…

I mean I get it that artists don't want to put out the same stuff for decades and taste and preferences changes. So I am perfectly fine with them wanting to try something different, even though I and quite a lot of fans, that are fans because of the original sound and melodies, that are no longer there, don't like it. But that's not Equilibrium anymore - the language changed, the themes in the lyrics changed, nearly all of the members changed, the sound changed extremely, even some instruments changed (no more folkstuff and much more PC), hell even the logo is different now. It's like Amon Amarth would start doing Alestorm-Stuff - I love both bands but I don't want either of them to start being like the other one. So why keep calling it Equilibrium? Just start a new band and let the good, old Equilibrium die (or just pause), then no one would bat an eye since it would be another thing. You are not doing yourself a favour because everyone (including me) will compare it to Turis Fratyr and Sagas, which would not happen, if you would just release this stuff as a new band, which you essentially are now.

Damn. It sounds like a continuation of the last album, only worse. (Even more metalcore.) The new vocalist suits the band's new style. But this is no longer the Equilibrium.

I love their old folk albums and always have. That being said this fresh sound holds some great atmosphere and has me very excited. I love the groove, the synth melodies, the new vocalist, all of it. I'm very eager for a new album with this lineup.

Schade, war eigentlich mal eine meiner Lieblingsbands. Ich hab schon das letzte Album nicht mehr gehört, weil es für mich einfach nicht gut klang und das meiste schon auf englisch war. Was ist so falsch daran weiter auf deutsch zu singen? Das klang wenigstens nach was. Warum muss man das alles so kaputt machen? Das begann schon langsam mit dem Album Armageddon. Ich find manche Lieder nicht schlecht, aber ich denke, da hat dann langsam dieseVeränderung begonnen. Da dachte ich allerdings noch das diese englischen Texte nur mal so zum ausprobieren sind, aber nicht das sie immer mehr werden. Schade drum. Es gibt doch schon genug Bands die englisch singen. Warum muss man sich denn da noch einreihen, wenns in deutsch eigentlich viel besser geklungen hat? Mein Freund ist davon auch echt nicht begeistert und seit dem letzten Album ist es bei ihm auch vorbei. Und mit dem neuen Sänger der (für mich) so gar nichts von seinen Vorgängern hat kann ich noch weniger anfangen. Ich bin froh sie damals noch auf dem Wolfszeit mit einigen der älteren Lieder, mit Robse und vorallem auf deutsch singend gesehen zu haben. Jetzt würd ich mir das nicht mehr antun. Sehr schade, war echt mal ne tolle Band.

The songs used to be filled with an atmosphere of fantasy and adventure, textures of forests/mountains/sailing the high seas, creative melodies, and a unique sound. They blended folk and symphonic elements in a way that was like no one else. Now it's generic metalcore with only glimpses of their former brilliance. "Evolving" as a band isn't always a good thing. RIP Equilibrium.

Of the old unique Equilibrium only a memory is left, it's so sad.

Can you believe that this is the same band that released Turis Fratyr? God i miss those days.

Oh... boy, that was rough to say the least. Equilibrium always had this folkish element that no other band has, very unique and moving. Now what's left of it is just a fracture of what it once was and woven into your standard, run-at-the-mill Metalcore band. I was done listening to Equilibrium after Renegades, being the biggest slap in my face. I gave it 'nother shot with this single and missed the mark for me completely. But not to worry though, I'll just be moving on. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, it's just not for me. Turis Fratyr and Sagas already have a special place in my heart and rest of the discography before Renegade of course. I wish René and the band the best of luck in upcoming tours and what-nots and most all; Have fun!

RIP Equilibrium

For me personally that settles it and i´m done with Equilibrium. I´m fan since the legendary "Demo 2003" and loved the unique folk song and mystic vibes. Sadly, there is nothing left now and it sound like generic Metalcore (for me! - not a big fan of that genre, so maybe i´m wrong here). But it´s totally ok, no bad blood there. I understand that some bands evolve and process to other styles and genres. Like Equilibrium moves on, so will I. I wish the band all the best and good luck!

Well .... okay. Sadly Equilibrium turns more and more into ... not being Equilibrium at all. The legend that could have been.

I was initially highly critical of the new style. After a few more listens, I do hear the "Equilibrium sound" and I think a lot of people are put off by a relatively small number of style decisions. Yes there are some differences, but the basis of the band is still there. I wish you all the best, of course. Music is still music. Fabian is a very good vocalist, and I don't think I've seen anyone saying anything else.

Equilibrium ist wie das Drachengame. Immer wenn man glaubt, man ist ganz unten angekommen, merkt man, dass es doch noch ein bisschen weiter nach unten geht... Das einzig wahre Equilibrium ist mit dem Wegfall von Helge gestorben.

Equilibrium sounds better with: - original German language - folk music with folk instruments - scream and growl without this metalcore shit - sounds better without those special electronic techno effects. LIke previous comments says. Sounds just like the last few albums, but for me Robse suited much more. Of course Helge was the best. Miss the old Folk Equilibrium. It's not folk metal anymore. I think it's not even an epic metal genre anymore. It's evolving into something what Equilibrium is certainly not known of.

At this point the band should have just changed their name. It's such a bizarre mashup of elements, from metalcore to industrial, that just doesn't work, it's so far removed from the band's original sound. Almost impossible to think this band actually made 'Sagas'.

I'll never understand why the members who wanted/want to pursue this style of music didn't just start a side project and keep it separate from Equilibrium. The early albums were one of a kind. Too bad that it seems that they are done with that...

They should better changed their name here... Imagine this same band did that incredible "Demo 2003", "Turis Fratyr" or "Sagas". It's OK to change, but do it under a new name and it's fine... 0815 nowadays Metal core with a breakdown... Are the new members limited to this kind of music only?

I do miss the old Equilibrium. This doesn’t sound like the band anymore, but that’s fine, bands change over time. It is apart of the process, especially after so many member changes. The new vocalist definitely fits the new sound so a great choice was made in that reguards! Nothing but the best for Equilibrium! I do hope we get to hear Skar more in future songs, which means I’m still into hearing more :)

Rene can write a new Sagas if he wants to, not even a problem. The interesting part is that he spends the talent like this. I hardly think there's much of an audience for this style of music, nor is there any money in it. So it's puzzling. Equilibrium with all the potential it had, turned into a bedroom hobby project. At least it's producing something, unlike Wintersun for example 😅

В принципе, согласен с предыдущими ораторами о том что проекту давно пора сменить название. Коллектив/автор явно не хочет сочинять то что он/они сочиняли 15 лет назад, но боится полностью отказаться от тех фольклорных элементов за которые мы так полюбили Эквилибриум. Ни туда ни сюда уже который год.

R.I.P. Equilibrium, mit Robse habt ihr eure Seele endgültig verloren. Der Wechsel von Helge Stang zu Robse war noch in Ordnung, aber jetzt ist es einfach nicht mehr Equilibrium, sondern eine Metalcore-Schulband. Es zerreißt mir gerade einfach nur mein Herz, die Band, die ich einst so geliebt habe sterben zu sehen. 😢

I can't even picture the person who listens to this. It's a shame because there is a couple catchy links that remind me of the old equilibrium...but feels like a mere shell of what it used to be. The only reason I made it through the rest of the song after that breakdown was to finish writing this comment. RIP

From good old Equilibrium i once listened,only memories remain... No hate,but this is not Equilibrium.

Equilibrium war eine meiner absoluten favo bands, neben ensiferum das beste an folk metal. Ich find's einfach nur schade wie ihr euch entwickelt habt 😢 aber ist letztendlich natürlich eure Entscheidung. Die ersten 2 alben waren masterpieces, auch mit robse habt ihr verdammt geile Musik gemacht, bis mmn auf die letzten 1-2 Alben. Das hier ist nur noch 0815 metal core Gesang... Leider gar nicht meins... Solche bands gibt's zuhauf. Früher wart ihr richtig einzigartig. Immer schade wenn so gute bands den musikstil ändern. Aber naja... 🤷🏼😪

It's difficult to support this band (even though I bought all their albums) coz they keep changing their lineup none stop. Just when one get's used to a new lineup, it changes again. Also, it seems that their record label is afraid to send the band further out, even as a support band - as they seemingly only play within Germany and close by countries... Anyways, hope they continue their work, as I enjoy it :)

Everytime I see a new Equilibrium videoclip I go right into it 'cause Turis Fratyr, Sagas and Rekreatur are pretty fond to me, but since Armageddon I feel i'm just holding to an illusion. Equilibrium could've been one of the greatest in the Death metal escene. Even Skar, the bajist, has better music in his channel than in his band since he joined. Now, am I bashing a band for trying new things? I don't know, maybe? but it's like why make a following with music that people have been eagger to listen and possibly make the 3 best albums of folk death metal and then change everything. Erdentempel was good and Armageddon for me it was only Rise Agan and Zum Horizont that still hold on... but it's like... I don't know. I mean I do like metalcore and deathcore, but for that we have bands that have been pushing the sound for years and experimenting to bring more sounds into the genre. Equilibrium just went the opposite direction and instead of bringin more sounds and things into the genre that you guys tried to persue within those 3 albums (and some would say that succesfully), you just straight up abandoned it and now are trying to grasp some of the fame that the deathcore and metalcore scene has been gettin. Or at least that's how it feels. If the new fans like this, by all means, listen to it (not tryin to sound like an elitist, though I think I may sound like one), but since now Equilibrum has to be separated into pre and post renegades.

I discovered Equilibrium through Renegades's Himmel und feuer and moved on to the rest of the album, even with that first impression i started liking the first albums even more than Renegades, those were just so good. it's a shame this is going the way it is

I'm not sure, what to think about that piece. Truth be told it's catchy, energetic and climatic. But if I wasn't told it's Equilibrium, I'd say it's just a random newly formed folk metal band trying to find, in which direction they want to develop. I'll definitely miss the old Equilibrium with Sagas as my absolutely favorite album and Renegades as a good mix of the old and new. But I don't think I'll be that much hyped on this band as before. Wish them luck one way or another.

This band had so much potential, it became a simple modern metal band (2min57 -_-') with some nice notes. It's a shame to wipe your ass with the fans but hey, life goes on (obla di o bla da!!!) Good luck for your next "offerings"

Ich hab schon seit Jahren kein Equilibrium mehr gehört. Damals habe ich mit 16 Jahren das Album Sagas gesuchtet und es wird definitiv immer einen tiefen Platz in meinem Herz verzeichnen aber das hier ist generische Metalcore Mist mit paar Folk/Symphonic Elementen, klar wird das bestimmt auch einigen gefallen aber mit Equilibrium hat das wirklich nichts mehr zutun.

For every currently operational metal band and those being started in the future: ALWAYS think of it in two ways. #1. Think of it as you wish. #2. ALWAYS think of it like it was a patient in a hospital in need for some surgery every time you want or need to change something in it. Change of manager is like reparation of ears and vocal coords. Replacing a drummer is like a lung transplant. Replacing a vocalist is like a damn heart transplant. Changing the complete style of the band is equal with a GODDAMN HEAD TRANSPLANT. One question for you all. Who the HELL ever survived a damn head transplant for more than a few days? Keep reading the rest of the comments under the video thinking about this.

Damn... I was hoping 'XX' was the band taking a step back in the right direction after the shitshow that was 'Renegades'... but I guess I was wrong. There are still elements of the old band I loved, but this is a hollow shell of what they used to be. I have a horrible feeling Equilibrium will go the way of Arch Enemy; releasing gradually more dull and generic offerings because they know fans will flock to buy anything they pump out. But what makes it worse is Equilibrium were actually good to begin with. Edit: Also I can't take the new singer seriously, he looks like Avid Merion from 'Bo Selecta' with long hair.

These guys were too unique before and there were not enough fans for the style they were showcasing... The stuff I listen to every day... I really liked the other singles Revolution One Folk XX This one attempts to be more adapted to a broader popular sound and simplified for fans on that side... Once new fans hear the old stuff and fall in love there will hopefully be a bigger fanbase to go back...

I miss Helge. Don't get me wrong Fabian is doing great here. And yes I get it... bands evolve and grow into other stuff... But damn I miss stuff like, Turis Fratyr and Sagas.

I get it. Most Bands want to develop their style and do something different sometimes. But different is not always good. Like chocolate on salmon...

Ok so this is metalcore. The very basics of it. Adding electronic or folk sounds to your music won't make it some specific genre. It's just bonus that very few artists know how to master and justify. But the only objectival BAD this in all this, is that the René' sings no more.

Killer Song! But you should really consider a name change. This has evolved so far from the old style, that it would just make sense to let Equilibrium rest in peace and start fresh from here.

Traurig was aus Equilibrium geworden ist. Verrat an den Fans, die ihren Aufstieg über so viele Jahre ermöglicht haben. Aber anscheinend gibt es ja trotzdem genug Fans, dass sich das Ganze irgendwo rentiert. Da kann man auch mal vergessen wo man her kommt.

I miss the old Equilibrium, either with Helge or Robse. Yes, changes are necessary sometimes, but this is a great step back. Renegades was a drift from their usual music towards metalcore (or whatever the hell that shit was), this is just another step in that direction. RIP Equilibrium. At least I attended a concert when Robse was still in the band.
