Yes, this song is about a murder-suicide. Sophia is a goddess of balance, if one life is taken then another must be given in its place

@@shadystarfish07 As much as I love this song, Sophia is also the Goddess of not understanding math, apparently. How does killing more people balance anything? Wouldn't making a new life balance it? Like, if balance is 0, we had -1, then the daughter turns it to -3, not back to 0.

@@ProfiteerProphet I thinks it's more trying to bring emotions back to balance rather than lives. The family was happy, then war happens and father dies. The mother's response is anger and violence, however since she can't take it out on the people who did it she takes it out on someone she can, her daughter. The daughter prays for something to stop what's happening to her, or something along those lines. How does Sophia tell her how to stop what's happening? Kill her mother. Now she is no longer being beaten and should be happy right? No, now she has the guilt of killing her own mother. How does Sophia tell her to fix that? Kill herself. Since everyone is dead and can no longer feel emotions, a morbid sort of balance has been achieved. Is it a positive change to achieve balance? No, but then again some eikons have shown that even though they have the power to do what they are asked of, they will not or can not do it in ways that benefits the one asking of them.

That's the reason why. People keep saying that it was because the girl killed her mother, but it was because the girl was still suffering and killing the mother did not help the situation. Thus to resolve the issue, Sophia whispered a solution to eliminate all the pain, and that's why the girl decided to kill herself.

"Can you bring equilibrium?" - Sophia says this at the start of the fight, and I once read a comment that suggested she's not only aware that her very existence causes imbalance, but also that only her death can right things.

Pretty much all of the Primals are "one-dimensional" in their way of thinking, to an extent.

To that end, none of the Primals are evil. But if doing bad things to achieve their own selfish ends is evil, then Sophia is al ost certainly evil as well.

As far as FF6 callbacks goes, I mst admit I kinda got worried about Cid's wellbeing when I first saw those three statues on that flying island ^^

@Magikazam Arguably incorrect as each boss being "summoned" implies they existed in XIV's past. They just don't go into detail because the raids aren't about them because they serve as fluff fights. Omega itself certainly isn't lacking in new story and lore.

I think what she means is that true balance is nothingness.

The lesson is that only in death is all equal. Meaning that aiming for COMPLETE justice/equilibrium will leave the world dead. You're likely not supposed to try to be Sophia, but learn from her mistake. Forgiveness, for instance, may have had less 'justice' - but if she would have forgiven her mother after death, she could have at least been at peace.

In a sense she's right that in death all are equal, no peasants no noble, no rich and no poor, no happiness or sadness everything is in perfect equilibrium everything is in nothingness.

there can't be just death for in that case the balance isn't kept. life AND death must be balanced.

@@CrosbyNu You probably know this by now, but the details are basically the father died in the/a war, the mother took out her anger and sorrow on their daughter, the daughter prayed to Sophia for guidance, and was told by Sophia to bring 'balance' by killing her mother, then herself. Way I see it, it's the mother's death due to her crimes against her daughter, then the daughter's death due to taking her mother's life or something. Really dark, but it's a good track >_>;

It could be non elemental attacks like most high bosses in ff series. But i agree that she could be using Lightning with a hint of Light element?

sephirot is a white mage, sophia is a red mage, zarvan is a black mage.

She is original Triad in FF 6. She uses Ultima, Flare (non-elemental), lightning attacks and flash rain (ice and water). The idea that these original gods in FF 6 and XIV are specific class is incorrect. They are the originator of magic. When they were defeated, magic seized to exist. As such any spell that were ever learned or absorbed from Espers originated from these Triads or their powers sourced from them.

She's based on the FF VI boss Goddess if thats what you mean. The Warring Triad is its own series of bosses in that game.

Not certain, but I think English only. I vaguely recall seeing a ffxiv trailer from the official Japanese channel here on YT and the background music lyrics were in English even though the dialogue was in Japanese. I might be misremembering though

This one is only english I'm afraid. There are others there are japonese only. It all depends of the music producer creativity

Most are English only; however, since Stormblood has a lot of Asian theming, some of the songs are Japanese only. None of the songs have alternate language lyrics regardless.
