We found it about an acre away. I bought a new one and I saved the good parts from the old one as spares. Got about 8 years out of the first one.

I own a really crappy griddle and vowed to do some homework before choosing the next one (unless I'm gifted another one again and wind up having no input into the choice...) Thank you for this vid. I'd never heard of the Broil King (although I think I might have heard of it in the BBQ context - high qual rep, there.) I'll look out for one. No more thin, cheap metal element which browns along the heating element and undercooks everywhere else. How annoying! BTW, good clear diction. Very helpful!
I didn't realize, until just now, how old this review is. I went and looked up this model on Amazon, and the first review to pop up with an extremely negative one, and very convincing. For the first time I can ever remember, I won't be going with an ATK recommendation. I'll check and see if there is a more recent equipment review on this item. If not, there definitely needs to be one.
I have a Presto which is similar to the West Bend. Not super even heating, but what the heck, it was $20 but seem to be more now. Like the West Bend, you can remove the thermostat and put the griddle in the dishwasher or sink. I see now that Rival makes one this size that is under $20 and gets good reviews.
I think they need to revisit this review. There's a lot of new griddles out there and the inclusion of what looked to a be a Cuisinart Griddler was a bit unfair. After all, its pulling a two in one and can do burgers and other things that require it to cook two sides at once. Bit unfair to put it up against flat griddles.

This was a great review. I hadn't heard of Broil King until today. I've done some research and it seems they hold up over time. A good griddle is something everyone should own. Makes life easier. Thank you for your insight and testing these brands.

How about an electric skillet rating the one i have has uneven heat and one of them i sent back . The non stick coating was coming off in the corners .
i could have sworn you guys had a "grill pan" review... i'm looking to get a pan/skillet, probably cast iron, for "indoor grilling"... and i want to be "creative" with the cooking...
Great review, but I really wish you would have spent just a couple more seconds reviewing the results. Maybe displaying a spread sheet of the results from the various tests as well.
