You had me step up my game. Seriously - my camera work, recording, editing - everything is from watching your vids. I still have a lot to learn with the sound but I'm getting there.
Hey O...been enjoying your videos and especially your live videos. I have a biocube 29, but want to upgrade later this year to the same tank. Are you still using all the same equipment? Starting to collect some equipment. How do you like the Neptune dosers? Great video!
Hey Melanie, I changed equipment. I changed equipment for different reasons. I changed my sump and changed return pump and skimmer because they didn't fit. I love the Neptune Dosers, I changed to the GHL doser because it is smaller and fit in my cabinet better. The software on the Neptune Dosers is miles better and it's easier to use. Only get the GHL if you need space and you are handy with software. I'm uploading a video today with some of the changes I made.
nice tank. I have the 750xxl coming. Since it isn't out yet, I'm not sure what theyre doing on the return lines. It looks like you have some sort of bushing underneath on your return to convert to slip fit? Can you talk about those fittings right there at the return as it transitions to vertical below the tank?
Another great video Mr O. I just found your vids today so I hope you don't mind my questions. My nitrates have crept up to 20 or 50 because the Red Sea Nitrate kits is difficult to distinguish the various shades of pink. Anyway how much daily vinagar would you say I need for approx 20-25 gal tank? Thank you in advance
Hey Lisa. Its hard to say how much you'll need. Start with .5 ml per day for a week, then 1ml per day for another week. Then go up by 1ml per week until you see a reduction. Once you start to see a reduction keep that dose. Once they nitrates are low again, reduce your dosing by half - this will be your maintenance dose.
This tank is really inspiring! Did you use the supplied ATO vessel for your refugium? For the 425 XL, I'm setting up a larger ATO to sit outside the main cabinet and was thinking of using the included ATO as a refugium, but I'm unsure of the best way to plumb it. If I could, I'd also like to incorporate an algae scrubber of some type into the water exiting the refugium. But that's down the road, something to think about.
Yes I used the ATO Vessel. I got a 1 inch hole saw on Amazon for about $6. A 1 inch bulkhead for $6 and a 90 degree hose barb for another $6. The glass is thin and I cracked the refugium when drilling it but a glass sheet from Home Depot and some silicone fixed it. I use a WavePoint Daylight LED light. I empty the refugium once a month or so. I don't know how much nutrient reduction I get in my system but it grows pods a lot. BRS just released a video where they tested the effectiveness of refugiums.
Thanks for the details! I have a centre section in my current sump that has molly fry in it because that's the only place they're safe. I was thinking a larger volume would be better, especially if it had its own plumbing. That's good to know about drilling the glass. 👍
How will you mount the Radion XR15 in the middle? Will there be space in the overflow box for it to mount? Your tank is my inspiration, so equipment wise I will try to do the same thing.
I got the Aquatic life T5 Hybrid and put my old Kessil A360s on it. I loved the Radions but I never used T5 before and I was anxious to try it. If you have the Radion XR30s keep them, they are fine. I realized that my aquascape was too high and I made some changes to make it lower so the light could spread more.
with that nice waving flow, does the water ever spill out? or when you put your arm in it? also how many inches do you have from the water line, as I'm considering a rimless but would like waves in the tank with out it spilling over everytime I make a standing wave
I don't have water spilling out but I also don't do a standing wave. The water is about 1.5 inches below the top of the tank. When I put my hand in the water doesn't get any higher, the excess water goes down the overflow and the emergency overflow if needed.
I have a baby version of your tank. No where near as nice yet. Still learning. Red Sea 250. I did the same thing with my refugium. I am running Gen 3 pros. Also checking forums for tank breakdowns. Would like gen 4. If possible I would really like to see your lighting curve/schedule. Also one last thing. I have tried trigger pods twice and not had much success. What type of pods are you seeding your tank with.
I've never liked using the Tigger Pods as I never got them to reproduce - even in my previous tanks. The Algaegen Reefpods are better to use. For my current refugium, I ordered for Algaebarn.com - For about $50 I got 10,000 pods and I only had to seed my refugium and tank once. Here is a link to my light schedule - www.dropbox.com/s/shy7sz0sj0e3xz0/ReefingwithO-RadionSchedule2017-04-03.etg?dl=0
ReefingwithO thank you so much. I am going to order some. Also it might be me but it's not working. I am just getting lines of Data. Would it be possible send it to sppf121@gmail.com. Or If Instagram I am sppf121. Either way thank you very much. Great stuff.
What size is your tank I love it good job I’m new to the hoppy and I plan on Geting a tank I live in New York also where the best place to pick up fish ?
Nice tank man! Don't let them haters Oh.. You shouldn't have Tangs in such a small aquarium bullshit get to you! It's your tank and they don't know you!
The copperband is Reefsafe with Caution. When I first got him before he started eating, he picked at some acans and candy cane. Now he doesn't bother anything.
