..Great Business Analysis as always... Just a point to mention here, at the time of IPO in Oct 2020, promotor holdings in Equitas SFB was around 95%. Post IPO it became 82%. As per RBI guidelines, the promotors lock-in period to bring down its holdings to around 40% expired on 04th Sept 2021. In July 2021 RBI permitted the amalgamation of the promotor holdings in SFB to amalgamate with Equitas Holdings. What impact would this have on the company then as we can see a drastic reduction in promotor holdings in this quarter....

Talks a lot about management quality when it comes to conservation... Lot of Kotak mid and sr mgmt also migrated... Hi Ishmohit, I had really enjoyed your in-depth analysis of the company and the sector when I first watched this shortly after you released the video. After adding a bit of my own research, I had decided to buy the holdco shares when it was being offered at a discount relative to the small finance bank. When the MD announced his plan to resign, the price fell way below my buying price, but I somehow resisted the urge to sell convincing myself that the intrinsic value of the bank was much, much higher. I ended up buying even more at those low prices. Long story short - I'm sitting on healthy unrealized profits now! Wanted to say a big thank you and it would be really awesome if you could do a follow up video on this, focusing on current valuations and what getting a universal banking license would mean for Equitas. Thank you, regardless!

CASA ratio and ROA are two important metrics for a Bank. Higher CASA gives a lot of leeway to lend and capture market share in a highly competitive market. And this observation is coming from an Ex-Banker. I still have doubt about listing the holdings company and SFB separately. Nevertheless, a valuable video. I'm looking forward to Sona Comstar, as you've already analysed so many API and specialty chemical companies. Your channel keeps adding knowledge and value. Keep going ❤️

Regarding reverse merger of SFB(s), do you think Ujjivan SFB is an equivalently attractive opportunity (though Equitas is undoubtedly better but Ujjivan offers more holding co. discount and cheaper valuations in comparison) keeping in mind the old management of Ujjivan is coming back?

Grwat video . Everything you said about equitas, makes me remember your IDFC first video and to me it seems like a smaller IDFC first. What are some key differences? Some I could think of : 1. Legacy infra book for IDFC which throws surprises. But imo most of the pain period is behind us. 2. Equitas has higher geographical concentration risk which imo for a lender is something to keep in mind. 3. Scale is on idfcf side. Again for lenders imo larger lenders are actually safer than smaller lenders. Managing 1lakh cr loan book requires different set of skills than 20k cr loan book. Would love to know your thoughts! Disclaimer: I'm invested in IDFC first.

Equitas just believe operating leverage kicking in is imminent. Smaller scale is good though here, can grow faster for next 3-4 years :) Check Equitas Hold co and the reverse merger discount. By H2FY22, personally expecting ROA and ROE to start inching upwards. Once they are done with the accounting hit

Hi Ishmohit. I don't know why I am not convinced as I usually do after watching your video. I think the bank is still at its investing phase. Having high CASA is good but not at high interest rates, it will damage NIM. May be that's why profits after interest and expense is minimum. As you clearly mentioned they spend in expansion, recruiting and have diversified into many areas. Let's wait and see.
