[Erabu Lily Flower]
The traditional fork song of Okinoerabu Island, the Amami archipelago, located in the deep south of Japan. For more than 120 years, Erabu Lily has supported the lives of the islanders as an important industry on the island. The song expresses the feelings for the island's treasure "the lily".
Musician Kazuhiro Ichi, whose grandparents were Okinoerabu islanders, arranged this folk song, which is often performed with the Sanshin, into a magnificent piece of music.
Yurika Ohyama, a diva from Okinoerabu Island, sung with her clear voice gently and powerfully in front of beautiful scenery and important people.
In addition, Hiromi Maeda, a Sanshin player as a young successor of Okinoerabu folk songs, and Okinoerabu High School Eisaa club members participated and made this song fruitful.
* Sanshin is well-known among Japanese instruments with three strings.
* Eisaa is Okinawa's traditional dance that uses drums.
This movie was recorded in Okinoerabu, where pure white Erabu lilies fully bloom with the beautiful scenery of the island. I hope that this song which has been loved by islanders for many years will deliver the heart warmful feelings to many people.
