It is truly remarkable this awesome Erard has survived and you bring it to life once again with your musical gifts. Thank you for sharing this instrument and your talent on RU-vid. Beautiful piece for this grand instrument, well done. Looks like the 12 is enjoying it too :) +
anirishman77 I often wonder about the harps history and how it wound up in the US. Yes, it is remarkable that it has survived and required little restoration. I am still working on the final regulation and adjusting technique for the historical stringing. The sweet spot and pressure for harmonics is quite different than a modern harp but I will get it.Thanks for the nice comment and your support. The 12 is always near by...Best,Chris
Hi Sherj, thanks for the comment. It truly is a stunning harp, and a great experience to hear the old masters on a period instruments just as they sounded when composed. -Chris
Wow! I’m currently learning this piece (pedal practice, moved onto the pedal harp a month ago) and it sounds amazing but I am struggling with those silent pedal changes.... your playing is wonderful!
Thanks for sharing the video of your performance. I enjoyed it very much! My one suggestion is that you angle the camera at a distance that includes the base of the harp and your whole body, if possible!
