Just got my E-Ray a few days ago, and wow...this car is impressive. It's the launch and speed this things has, you won't believe it until you drive it. I'm glad I waited for it....amazing.

Hi Rick Nice video .Personally I think that the slow Eray production is due to lack of confidence in the design especially the Fire potential in the tunnel battery. Did they not already have one start on fire in the plant. Further there are a couple of dealers close by that can’t sell there in stock Erays. No doubt in my mind Z06.

Absolutely outstanding Rick. Yes, like a special golf club, fishing rod, firearm, we are fortunate to have a selection of C8’s for “purpose driven” use. Track, street, combo, touring and yes, mountain action. That’s why being vetteless with the hope of an ERay is bearable. Thanks for your most excellent presentation.

Rick, GREAT vid. I LOVE the NCM MPark tracked a C8 Stingray there…AWESOME. Eray-Best daily driver. Z06-Best track Vette…for now😉. Though each is capable in either category, the Eray is over 200lbs heavier on track while the Z06 has tall gears; the torque sweet spot is 5000 RPM’s. The torquey Eray, in any gear, makes for a great daily car. Can’t wait for mine. Again…GREAT VLOG!

Great video - thank you for sharing. Consider this, in between corvette track experiences, find a local go kart track and ask for the quickest one, put the throttle down and race around full throttle without ever using your brakes. If the cart is fast enough, you will quickly learn how to handle corners under control.....or buy yourself a powerful go kart and race around empty parking lots, you will be amazed at how you will gain racing skills by using it as a tool.

If any one thing will help sell every single E-Ray that will be manufactured, it is your video, Rick. What an absolutely fantastic vehicle, and what a great review from you. Unfortunate is the E-Ray’s excruciatingly slow ramp-up, but better to get it right the first time.

The auto cross looks challenging since you have to beat the fastest time by the looks hope your day in October date will fill up fast and you will have a lot of changers for sure. Fun Video. A comment about the appreciation gift if you purchase and E ray. I think going to clear glass takes some of the personalization out. I also think it's a cost cutting measure. I have an Amplify orange C8 and I love the fact that the gift they sent me was the color of my car. I guess in the end Chevy doesn't have to do this so we should be grateful that Chey goes to the effort of thanking their C8 Customers. Cheers!!!

NOW Eray and Z06 are 2x the $$ compared to a CPO C8 Stingray.....remember when dealers were charging $20k to $30k over MRSP, used C8 are now $20k UNDER MSRP

Agreed.. I have been waiting and on a list for an E-ray for over 3 years.. The one time I get called for an allocation JUST happens to be the right when GM magically decided to cancel out the one color I waited for. Instead of just keeping the colors till the end of the model year like everyone else for some reason they took out 3-4 colors. So basically I lost out and got screwed. I cant order the old yellow and too soon to order the new. Paying over 100K for a color you didnt want is dumb. Now I have to wait till maybe next month (IF the dealer calls me back) and who knows how much longer Ill have to wait and no one knows what the NEW inflated price will be. If GM tries to add another 2K to the E-ray I may just put in an a Reg stingray order and save 40K. I waited so long and picked out the Eray then getting on a Z06 list, but GM has FUBard so many things Im getting sick of it all.

Are you a former radio guy? Do you edit your own videos? You do amazingly well. E Ray (that’s the name my father went by) track, am I seeing that right? One hour on track is $850-150 (RC24)? If so that is steep. It makes the 2-Day $1,000 Ron Fellows Vegas look so darned amazing. Includes condo/room and meals.

I believe the ERAY is a better choice for a majority of vette drivers. Living in Seattle it’s a much better choice for me. I get another 250 driving days a year. The Z06 isn’t great in the rain. Glad you got to compare them.

Rick with being a corvette salesman and my opinion specialist, ive been interested in both the Z06 and eray. The Z06 for the aero, center mount exhaust and the Eray for the new technology and drive system, still undecided on which one to purchase. Any thoughts or opinions since you have had a chance to drive both vehicles and develop opinions on both?

Let’s pick the fly sh!! out of the pepper for most of the potential buyers. The E- Ray Accelerates faster than a Z06. It has a wide body. It has carbon ceramic brakes. It has a proven motor with a better torque curve. It cost less than a Z06. E- Ray hand down!!

I'd only get an E-Ray if I had money to blow. I like how it was built, and each wheel has it's own motor. But, the way any Hybrid is right now only being worth half or a third, of the cost you pay on the sticker, it's just to much. I'm old fashioned so I'll stick to the raw horse power of the gas. Why does it always seem cloudy when your there?

C&D was NOT able to get ONE lap in before battery needed recharging. Rick how was your experience?

Its always recharging. Thats the way it was designed.. power to go in and out rapidly. The battery will never deplete. It will reduce power to a point and charge off the gas engine while your driving. Hitting the charge+ button at certain times allows you more control on that process. So you will not lose AWD at all. Later on if they put a bigger battery then you wont need it as much, but then again you will be adding more and more weight.

You don’t charge the battery and there is a charge plus button to regenerate faster for track events
