This video teaches the Erdnase Change, one of the best colour changes in card magic. Appearing in S. W. Erdnase's book 'Expert at the card table' this colour change has been a popular change for decades. It's simple, quick and visual; a great move to learn.

The idea of pushing the deck in instead of pushing the top card out is brilliant!

Very nice tutorial definitely seems like the best looking way to do this I had one question though which I was hoping you could give some advice/tips I've tried with a couple different decks but I can't quite seem to get the entire deck to move when pushing with my left index which ends up with the deck either looking weird or the cards are uneven do happen to have any ideas on maybe a way to add squaring it up without it looking suspicious?
@CompleteDeception
@CompleteDeception 9 лет назад
***** I'd say maybe push the top card forwards slightly before you push the deck back with your index, that might give you a better hold of the deck with your index and make it square. Hope this helps :)

Any tip on pulling down the Jack? it takes great effort for me to pull it back and usually several cards are coming with it.

make sure your grip hand is holding the sides of the deck firmly, but the fat part of your thumb isn't stopping your cover hand from making contact with, and applying downward pressure on, the 2nd top card
@jimmywellington
@jimmywellington 3 года назад
You don't want the pressure you are putting with your right hand to be too much. Just enough to make the second card start moving, but no more than that. It's a lot less than you might think.

try holding the sides more tight | firm ly & make sure the "meaty" part of your grip hand isn't stopping your cover hand from making contact with the top card
@jasonharris1636

and push down on the deck apply pressure with your cover hand

When I slide my hand down the front card is the only thing that slides down any ideas?
@CompleteDeception
@CompleteDeception 9 лет назад
+NINJaSHOTz Do you mean that instead of the second card sliding down, the top card slides down instead? If so, try holding your hand at an angle, so the base of your palm contacts the part of the second card thats sticking out of the back and the rest of your hand isn't touching the top card at all.

Hmm, having a little trouble with this change. The card below the card you want to change into keeps sticking out after the change, any tips?
@CompleteDeception
@CompleteDeception 9 лет назад
hmm, you mean the face up card you've changed the card from sticks out, or an indifferent card sticks out?
@user-zj2qe3vz6i
@user-zj2qe3vz6i 9 лет назад
The card below the two face up cards stick out, revealing the back of a card
@CompleteDeception
@CompleteDeception 9 лет назад
Quang Nguyen okay, does it stick out of the back or the front of the pack? Just trying to get an idea of whats going wrong for you
@user-zj2qe3vz6i
@user-zj2qe3vz6i 9 лет назад
The card is jogged towards me, seems like it sticks to the card that I'm trying to produce.
@CompleteDeception
@CompleteDeception 9 лет назад
Quang Nguyen how old is the deck you're using? If it's an older deck the cards may have lost their smoothness so there will be more friction, which could be causing this problem to happen. Other than trying with a different deck if thats the case, you could maybe curve your hand as you finish the change, so that your palm pushes the out jogged card back into the pack, squaring it up.

That's really bad if you show the card pushed up before the color change.

You don’t have to palm it, in 12 and my hands are tiny, I usually just pull it back like he does but before that I have my hand farther from me, then just push forward
