Yeah almost to a fault. I tried to be impartial for quite awhile but damn. I actually was a big AEW guy that first year. But They could put on the same meaningless show every week forever and Conrad would still not admit it was getting old lol
@@user-ct8tc2dd9v No he's consumed by irrational love. There's almost absolutely nothing good about AEW right now currently, and he'll still find something to blow smoke up peoples asses about it.
Now this is a co-host. What a breath of fresh air! Please replace conrad Mr. Bischoff. Your not about BS thats what people love! Conman tho is very much self absorbed sleezy used car salesman, highest bid, and will do anything kinda guy.
@@Niko6767 He's obviously never had a REAL job before, and is making sure he never has to lol he is in no shape to be anyways. Guarantee he is getting a disability check
@kidcoyoteanarchy and it's crazy to think that Tony didn't learn a thing. I would love to get the person who wrote the angle for the MJF and Adam Cole friendship BS, in a room and simply ask them "wtf was that". Totally killed MJF for me
People seem to forget how long Dustin has been in the industry, how many eras of said industry he has been a part of, and how many legends he has shared a ring with and spoken to. He would be an ideal choice, Bully is correct.
What the fuck is AEW doing with even their short term booking concerning it's champions. Swerve, of all the great stories he could have, gets challenged by Christian out of nowhere, who hasn't done shit in a month & literally quit in his last match. Toni Storm is capable of having a great rivalry with so many women she's feuded with recently, but instead is challenged by Serena Deeb, who similarly to Swerve's situation, just shows up out of the void having no recent work at all, let alone any with Toni, & immediately gets a title shot. Even Mercedes is immediately challenging Willow (decided in advance while Julia had the belt) while the other women are actually fighting for title opportunities.. The product in-ring looks great, but this type of shit is just stupid 😑🤦
true and it's not a criticism of Christian or Deeb as talents. It's just the lack of storytelling to get them to be legitimate challengers. Especially after making a big deal about the rankings coming back and then Okada gets a title in his second match. Either the rankings matter or they don't.
@@adamandanna 💯🎯 No shot at them at all. It's not about who the opponents are, rather than the fact that's there's absolutely no storytelling or lead up as to why/how we got to said challenger. Secondary to that, to your excellent point, it also completely disregards their ranking system that they keep telling us matters.
Dustin, JR, Mark Henry, Big Show, Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, even Bryan Danielson once he retires. Over a century combined worth of experience and knowledge...and they sit backstage. Bryan hasn't had a "story" since his feud nearly 2 years ago with MJF. It's borderline criminal
Man bully plz replace Conrad! I love it hearing both of you guys unlike Conrad always interrupting Eric when he has such a legit opinion he wants to share! I agree I would had picked Eric brain because facts Eric did whoop Vince for 83 weeks that’s way more then anyone ever has!
I've always felt that it is inevitable that Cody Rhodes will become a MONSTER heel at some point, but the way Bubba explained it on how Cody is really Anakin Skywalker who is tormented trying to hide his true nature and it would take someone like Paul Heyman (who is the closest example of Palpatine there is in wrestling today,) I started grinning from ear to ear. MAN that is good.
@@BannedSports nah I doubt it im CVV interview Bubba said that D-Von just couldn't wrestling anymore due to his body but like Tyson Kidd he still want to involve in WWE in some capacity and doing it as behind the scene staff instead
Conrad is the archetype neckbeard nerd. He’s never been in the ring like Bully. Bully understands the lack of psychology in AEW. Conrad gets so testy with Bischoff. Their chemistry is like water and oil.
Put these 2 men and Paul Heyman in a room for 2 days and they turn AEW into a viable company that makes money but Tony doesn't care bout making money he's playing and having fun not serious about things period
Pretty great episode. Both of these gentlemen have a mind for the business and have given us many years. For that we thank you. I would've brought Paul Heyman in to help with TNA, but no smart person would give up half of their company. Maybe 1-3% at best, or some other financial rewards. I really am glad AEW is around since WCW left us without an alternative, plus AEW being around is healthy for the business of pro wrestling and the talent. I 🙏🏾 that they will figure things out, because they started off so hot. And no we don't need a small WWE, but a good balance of storylines and reall good wrastling/wrestling matches. My favorite form of entertainment since I was a kid. 🙏🏾✌🏾❤️
Thanks Bubba: AMEN! 100% true! AEW to me still is like when I was 12 and played with my wrestling figures and created one crazy match after another - before the time I went and was more into creating good, long term storylines combined with leading into good matches. Yes, there is some good wrestling at AEW, but over time, I have seen enough of the weekly spot fests and Moxley bleeding every week. What I mean is: Sometimes less is more, because you can get used to it quickly. I miss the balance at AEW. And, yes, they are not good at creating good and long term storylines. Tony Khan in one term is a bit like Eric, when he was in a rating war with WWE: Eric a lot of times only cared about winning Monday nights, instead of saving and building something for a ppv (not always, but there are many examples out there - which at the time was ok, at least sometimes!). Like with AEW, it lost it's magic when it was fresh. Just like Nitro or the nWo, when they got to a point of "and now what?". Tony Khan prefers to please the small part of fans on the internet and getting as many stars of "Mr. Delusional - well, you know" Dave Meltzer instead of creating a smart product with long term storytelling that is growing in ratings and profit.
Fair enough, Bischoff made his mistakes but he has owned up to some of those and learned from them And that was a lot of Hogan influence too. Khan has never beaten WWE's main show in the ratings for a consecutive weeks. No one has but Bischoff. And the little nwo cosplay AEW is doing isn't going to do it. But yeah agree on that lousy finish. He's not tan enough. ha ha
He’s a matchmaker and most Huge pro wrestling fans can do that if they have the wrestlers it’s the creative that’s important and Tony just doesn’t understand that
Any idiot can take two random great workers, put them in a random match, give them a half hour, and come off as some genius booker when the fans start chanting. The real good ones book to make sense and make stars and TK hasn't done that.
Dustin, Jarrett, JR, Flair and Billy Gunn are all that’s left. I was surprised when he said Danielson would take over for him in an emergency and not Dustin. The guy has 30 years in the business.
The this is awesome chant has to go as its so damn cringe. Imagine sports fans chanting this is awesome in basketball and football games lmao. Also the holy shit chants need to be reserved for moments that are truly wild and out of this world lol
Actually this is the exact problem I had with Shawn Michaels as a wrestler too. He was the definition of "this is awesome" but I could never take him seriously as a world champ. He always felt like he was there not to win but just to put on a show
The part y’all aren’t touching on is that the veterans are probably telling him what he wants to hear at this point because Tony’s prone to dismiss any form of criticism as bad faith, and they want to continue getting checks.
Another possible choice for booker would be the Hardy's who ran their own promotion for a while and have WWE + TNA experience. Matt has shown he can be creative with stories.
And this is the thing, okay? We are currently on a video where a legendary wrestler and a legendary (yes, maligned too, but legendary) booker and on-screen authority figure are URGING Tony Khan to do better and work smarter. They are not telling him to quit, they are not telling him he can't win. Tony's got Dustin. He's got Jake the Snake. Hell, he's got Ric Flair, the President of the United States. He has Sting on speed dial for crying out loud. There are so many people that, should Tony ask/pay them to, would impart him with the knowledge and the advice to turn AEW into a legitimate contender and a) earn more/lose less money; b) earn legitimate respect among his wrestling figures; c) make daddy proud. How Khan continues to reject this scenario, which would benefit him and everybody around him financially, emotionally and reputationally, is beyond me.
How did Eric Bischoff almost put Vince out of business? well... they had better creative ideas when it came to how edgy it was and took bigger risks. They also had better talent which was more of a double edged sword, but it still generally worked for the longest time. and lastly, Eric was willing to face WWF with strategic decisions and actually looked out to see what the audience wanted. which Vince never did. Eric deserves all the success he got out of it and then some.
Bully Ray is 100% with his hot take for Dustin Rhodes to be a creative booker because he's the older brother to cody Rhodes and he sat with him on the learning tree so yeah it makes sense.
I said back when the cm punk beef 1st popped off..dustin rhodes should be that guy in the back the talents need to go through...i think rhodes needs to be 1 if those checkpoint road blocks backstage..."run it through dustin, see what he thinks"...or a arn anderson...also if tony is that vig a fan if wrestling WHY TF DID HE NOT ASK BISCHOFF QUESTIONS WITH 1 ON 1 TIME? idk 1 wtestling fan that WOULDNT try to pry into his mind and ask thousands if questions until eric has to call security to get ypu tonleave him alone...but tony doesnt even try? Thats crazy
Did Bully Ray just talk about the learning tree? Lol - pretty sure Chris Jericho took care of that. It's hilarious to me how many more times guys like Bischoff and Bully Ray will try to give their reasoning for why the booking in AEW sucks and their way is the best. The fact is - there are so many more elements to a good show than just the storyline and realistically, creating a storyline requires at least 4-5 writers who could formulate a 2-3 month story that has a lot of connections and a lot of twists and turns. AEW has a definite type of audience - and he cannot risk losing them for 'casual fans' who will not give AEW a chance because they're not the '#1 brand' the same way they look at Netflix or a pair of jeans that are brand name versus another brand that is not as good, doesn't cost as much for example.
AEW feels like a show where the actions of one character changes everything for everyone else during the entire show. WWE feels like SNL where theres a 15 minute segment then a completlty irrelevant 15 minute segment continuously until time runs out.
I mean, he took it to WWE, but I wouldn't call him a great booker. In fact, ironically, Eric is very much like Tony. For every "first time ever" and "dream match" tag Tony has, Eric was always shock jocking jabs and spoiling Wwf television on HIS show and had an over reliance on bringing in celebrities to sell big events because they definitely weren't packing into those sold out arenas for amazing wcw storytelling lol.
Tony Khan is a fool. He had Eric for a couple of days in his company. The man who put Vince on the ropes for over a year and a half and he NEVER picked his brain and asked "How did he do it?" Very foolish....maybe even borderline stupid. I mean the man was right there! All that knowledge Eric had wasted.
In two short weeks Cocaine Bear has buried Swerve(his top guy) & his top title. Imagine Rock, Austin, Cena, Hogan, Flair, or Orton getting beat down & destroyed week after week. Booking.
Dustin would be a great booker. He started in the nwa, then WCW, WWE, tna & aew. He’s got the experience to do it and do it well I think. But….Even if it did happen, Tony would need to get his nose in and change things around, so it would almost be impossible job to do without some interference from T.K. I would think. just my opinion.
100% and I say this as a WWE fan, Triple H isn't perfect. Honestly there's still the bit of annoyance with 1 or 2 angles per show and the rest being thrown together matches. But there's a vision. Danielson vs. Will is a phenomenal match. But there's no story. Which...as they said...is fine! But what's next? What follows that? Undertaker vs. HBK at Mania 25 was similar it was thrown together, a dream match. But there was a vision to have a rematch a year later with so much more at stake. Hbk vs. Angle Mania 21, same thing, but there was a vision where it led to multiple ppv matches. Tony Khan is arguably the best dream match maker ever, and the matches themselves are top notch but that isn't what pro-wrestling is... it's about a story. They used the S*X analogy, so I'll go with that. AEW is like hooking up with multiple good looking women night after night. WWE is like finding the 1 woman you wanna spend the rest of your life with and go on that adventure with where each experience and the different emotions affect the outcome of..."The final act"
To your point. Daniel Bryan can put on Amazing Matches in AEW but he's yet to build a story greater than the one with The Miz and at his age he never will. Bryan vs Miz will trump anything he does without better booking and with just a match maker at the helm
Do I hate on AEW yes. But give Bully the chance to book a year out when he has the last image being Osprey vs. Danielson as his end point see what happens.
I prefer WWE to AEW, but I don't get all this hate for TK. If you don't like his show, then don't watch it. Personally, I don't have time to watch all the shows anyway. As for Bully Ray, I preferred him as Bubba Ray. For me, he was just OK in Impact, and I was not a fan of Aces and Eights.
I think Conrad just creates a Character difference of himself to make people hate him. I think he really doesn't like AEW much I think he is being different being the opposite and liking AEW cause I had a friend just like him. Because for instance if everyone in one room booing the Pirates and every one cheering for the Phillies. He pisses off Eric Bruce and Jarrett. That's my friend did to people he'd sit and smile Conrad does the same thing cause he knows people hates how he acts. So haha he's pulling a Lawer.
Its super confusing to me. Tony has the greatest minds there jr and tony come to mind for me. Tazz is there Paul white mark Henry.....idk man he has the tools. If its me id never stop asking Chris Jericho for help
Eric gets a lot of crap, but I respect him. He had a lot of egos to deal with in the late 90s. He wasn't afraid to take on WWE every Monday. He gave us one of the greatest storyline with NWO and Sting.
