Woke up this morning and was on a four hour drive to visit my sister who is suffering from severe depression when the sad news of this great musical talent's death came over the radio. It made my drive seem even that much longer. I just wrap my head around this Eric Carmen gone, 74 is not that old. What a voice and the hits he gave us over the years. RIP Eric Carmen and thank you for sharing your gift with us.

Singers of the past had such incredible voices! You can count on your hand how many people currently (in the industry) have raw vocal talent like this. And not to mention the emotional creativity of the songs, nowadays it's so subpar. This truly was the golden age of music.
Eric came back to live in his hometown in Cleveland. He came full circle from Ohio teen clubs to Hollywood and back to his roots. God bless you Eric for the soundtrack of my teen years.
It's 10.30pm Tuesday night 12/03/2024 and I've just flicked the T.V. over to Ch 9 in Sydney. They were showing The Raspberries "Go all the Way" I thought "Why are they playing that?" "Is Eric touring soon?" Then I thought "Oh no he hasn't died" "Has he?" My fears were confirmed by the news voice over person. "Eric Carmen was 74" Now I can't stop crying. Not only did Eric help create one of the greatest, mind blowing Guitar riffs in Rock history, he then composed some of the most tasteful Ballads of all time. Good quality Ballads are extremely hard to write. Thanks for the great music and the brilliant singing voice Eric. Eric lived a successful existence and died peacefully in his sleep. The spring and summer of 1988 started out great MY 1st Wife and I were awakened every morning with this song playing on the radio. Then on June 17 1988 just weeks away from our 5th Wedding Anniversary Her life was taken from me while she and a friend from our church were traveling to Roanoke Va and the girl driving lost control of her car killing only my Wife. She had just turned 24 years old , although I've been remarried I can never love anyone the way I did her She Was My Soul Mate .
I can't believe that the incredible Eric Carmen is gone. He was a great guy. He was a fantastic singer and songwriter, and gorgeous. His songs are going to live on and keep touching people. Thank You, Eric, for all that you gave. I'm gonna miss you so much. I'll continue to listen to your beautiful and amazing songs, and watch the videos. Love You!
