In 1970 I was a college freshman at a school for girls. One night at our dorm a few girls came running up the stairs coaxing everyone to come down to the gathering room because there was a guy down there that looked like Eric Clapton. Everyone excitedly ran down there to see with me trailing behind saying, “who’s Eric Clapton?” They looked at me like I had snakes coming out my ears. Not long after, I was introduced to the song Layla at Pat and George’s in New Paltz as well as my future husband. Been a huge Clapton fan since. Rock on Eric Clapton!
