I have named my virtual Hotel after this song!! And my restaurant is called clap's. I will own a real restaurant someday and have this music in the lounge!
In the white room with black curtains near the station. Black-roof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings. Silver horses run down moonbeams in your dark eyes. Dawn-light smiles on you leaving, my contentment. I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines; Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves. You said no strings could secure you at the station. Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows. I walked into such a sad time at the station. As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning. I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back; Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves. At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd. Consolation for the old wound now forgotten. Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes. She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings. I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd; Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves. [Live Cream Vol. 2:]
@timlu814 I agree. Bruce's voice was possibly my favorite aspect of Cream. Clapton's playing is so damn good though. Hendrix is good too, but had he lived, he would have probably gone mellow like Clapton.
@fabulousprincipessa You know, I like this one better. Clapton just has so much energy when he's singing. The original is amazing, don't get me wrong, but in my opinion, this one is ever so slightly better. I just love how Clapton starts each verse with such intensity. It's great!
okay i agree with you that he should have covered clapton, but clapton didnt write crossroades, robert johnson did, and bob marley wrote cocaine. so clapton did his share of playing other peoples music.
compared to Jack Bruce who sang on the original version of White Room with Cream and his guitar playing so superior to his singing- Still he is the 2nd best guitarist of all time(James Marshall Hendrix no 1)
possible it was months ago, but anyway... we have had thgis discussion before and you lost... I just want you away from "our" videoes so we dont need to read your negative comments
Thats just silly. Collins is not struggling. These are some of the greatest players in the world. To say that Collins is struggling just points out that you know nothing about music or musicians. You are being fooled by an incorrect miking technique or recorded EQ on the toms. Phil Collins may write some really lousy pop music but he has been one of the worlds great drummers since the seventies. He does not struggle.
You must be replying to a comment I made months ago. I haven't posted on a Clapton video in a long time, BUT since you brought it up -- CLAPTON BLOWS. He is the most OVERRATED guitarist of all time. Thanks for reminding me....
