I respect the Rambassador for showing up and eating that L cuz they played liked straight garbage. [Edit] Rams offense played like garbage. Their defense did their jobs.
STREET SPIRIT the focal point of the rams was missing... and their second/best receiver wasnt there(kupp injury). Good job, greatest defense barely stopped them all game anyways if not for inopportune penalties
BlueBig22 you're lying to yourself, watch each snap again, coverage in the secondary was great, broken catches, o line got pressure, blitzes forced Goff to go through his reads faster but was ultimately under pressure because of the d line
@@AcradusAnd yet they were still able to drop points on the saints in more hostile conditions. Also what about the chiefs?? Best offense in the NFL held to 0 points for a half, that's insane. I saw them making plays every snap, watch the tape and you'll see how bad they man handled offensive lines.
Another thing...the pats ran a 4-3 scheme just for this game... And played more zone ..while beening a man coverage team all year...everyone knows the pats play a hybrid 34/43 ... Which make it hard to make adjustments to their defense..
Every time The Rams had possession Belichick knew exactly what they were doing. Checkmate every time. Belichick also had The Rams' number when they met in the early 2000s. To believe that the normally explosive Rams offense could barely move and had only 3 points especially in an indoor venue is against any logic despite their issues with Todd Gurley. Yet the NE defense was hardly of shut down ability. Something doesn't make sense and it involves the same dynamic duo..... again.
Bill and McVay talk every week.. He befriended him for a reason, He knew he would see them sooner or later. Bill knew that the Rams 2 best offensive players were hurt.. Kupp was hurt, Gurley wasn't 100% and Goff is overrated.. He coached Cook and knows his strengths and weaknesses.. That's why Belichick is the GOAT
Todd Gurley broke a dude's arm by running into him, he was running so hard. Gurley wasn't timid or hurt. Scheme wise, they got shut down and because of that they stopped running the ball.
Sean McVay wanted his QB to win the MVP more than Gurley that would have boosted the little guru's ego. so he thought. I still haven't seen the game. Bill is the G.O.A.T.!!
Let's call it 50% McVay, 25% O-line and 25% Goff. That O-line played absolutely garbage, couldn't run block nor pass protect. In short, one could argue the Rams lost that game because they lost at the line of scrimmage. Or you could put a case forward that it was 50% O-line even. I haven't seen the film, but the other question is did McVay adjust? Did he bring in the jumbo package? Did he add another lineman to block? I don't know, for such a highly rated O-line, the Pats' D-line totally destroyed it.
I know this is a year old comment but felt compelled to say how nick foles and eli are like the same qb, i feel both are decent at best but didnt fold when it mattered.
I'm sorry but Gurley ain't healthy folks. It due time, we'll see that Todd was running at about 75- 80% There is no damn way, you limit an ELITE RB to a handful of carries in the worlds most important game of the year. McVay ain't that damn stupid not to use him ... especially when Goff is having a bad night.
Cough Brian Flores Cough. MALCOM GO! All kidding aside, Bill is a great coach because he makes everyone around him better. Brady is the same. They are both students of film and nurturers of their subordinates.
@@johnnybeatmaker330 I don't think he would be going at it as hard if people were not legit completely ignoring Brady's contribution. Most of the pundits really think he had nothing to do with that win.
@@James-cp9uh The thing is, I could think of 5,6 other QB did the thing that Brady did on Sunday. Not to take away his greatness, but the Defense of NE was the headline of the game. I have not seen such shut out for years in the SB.
@@cenki957 yeah and he got that beat up team to a superbowl, your point is?? Everyone acts like getting to the superbowl or even the playoffs is so easy.
Makes you wonder what the Saints would’ve done if they played in the Super Bowl instead of the Rams. Not saying the Saints would’ve won but I promise you the Saints would’ve got at least a TD in that game
Im gonna take a guess and say you're a Saints fan. Im sorry but yes that PI call was bs and its not 100% that that they would have won if the call was made anyways. You cannot takeaway from that Rams offense putting up points despite the noise...Better team won that day. Now the Superbowl Rans offense was a complete other thing than it was in the NFC champ and you would be right saying that it played like garbage because they simply werent prepared for the flawless Pats defense that night.
The Saints should not have gave up a 13-0 lead at home. Sean Payton should've just ran the ball amd let the Rams use up all they're timeouts. The Saints defense should've never allowed Jared Goff and the Rams offense get in field goal range. Drew Brees shouldn't have throw an interception when he had the ball first in overtime....but the Rams didnt deserve to be there? Sounds like the Saints didn't deserve to be there.
Goff wasn't great, but I think more blame lies on the O-line. Goff was pressured on EVERY SINGLE PLAY - no QB, no matter how good, will play well like that. Give credit to Belichick, he switched blitzes on almost every play and the O-Line couldn't comfortable. Belichick coached a masterpiece
@@TheRabidbunnies Russell Wilson could've managed behind the Rams O-Line in SB LIII... Maybe Goff is just another over-hyped, pedestrian QB. Seattle Seahawks will win the NFC West in 2019!
@@TheRabidbunniesGoff didnt play great?. You can make a case that no other QB has ever looked worse in the SB.. He had receivers open throughout the game. He either didnt see them or flat out missed them.. His mechanics was bad his throws was off he wasnt going through his progressions and on top of that he looked scared out of his mind. Yes give coach bill credit but you could watch that game for 5 mins and see Goff wasn't ready. It was to much for him. Coach Mcvay deserves some of the blame also for not making adjustments to help him out. We'll see if they can bounce back next year.
gdc615 the line didn't protect him. But Elway struggled a lot worst. Even in some of the Broncos victories. Elway has the lowest QB rating in super bowl history or one of them at least.. at the time he was young just like Goff
The Rams wont be back next year. The team will not recover from this loss. They were a flop that should not have been there due to the Refs in New Orleans. They know this as does everyone else.
goof made no reads at all, the receiver he lock on to at the line of scrimage was the only one he was tryna thro to, there was many open recievers on second and third reads
@Matt Cogar yeah let's give the defense all the credit and not give some credit to Brady, because their defense would have put up 13 points to win the game anyway without Brady. smh.
Codename Centaur Brady didn’t put up 13 pts. The touchdown cane from Sony Michel and the 7 pts came from the kicker 1 PAT and 2 field goals. Brady only had a pick and 260 yards credit to Edelman for RAC.
You can see how different the rams offense is when they dont get gurley his touches. Goff is competent but he isnt polished enough to drop back play after play and pick apart a defense. New england’s defensive gameplan was solid though
he ain't competent after that superbowl performance he put up. He doesn't even call an audible if he sees something he doesn't like before snapping the ball. Goff is most effective as a playaction fake it to the RB and throw. The Patriots's defense eliminated their playaction pass and abused Goff throughout the whole game. You're right though. He ain't at that level where he could drop back and throw the ball to pick apart a defense. McVay is the true offensive playmaker for the Rams. Goff is his puppet.
Both defense were good, Brady did slightly more and thats how he won. Its pure simple. Its the same game dallas vs saints. Which ever qb can do slightly better has the edge to win it.
@@mrtakeitez About what? I live in Massachusetts and love all Boston teams lol. Just funny to see someone calling someone out even though they are being a man and taking an L with grace. Cause I'm sure that it's a foreign idea for them because they hide and make excuses when they lose
@@dominiclowe3640The defense didn't cost the Patriots to lose in super bowl 42 the defense gave up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. I suppose you think the Patriots defense won the first three super bowls when Tom Brady threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns in super bowl 38 and the defense gave up 29 points to the Panthers plus Adam vinatieri missed two field goals in super bowl 38
Brian Flores’ role in the Pats defensive game plan has been criminally undervalued in sports media. He was primarily responsible for their defensive scheme. Honestly both defenses played their guts out and Wade Phillips was the only reason the Rams didn’t get blown out.
Good to see Eric again. Lots of people forget that Belichick was the architect of those great NYG's defenses with LT and friends. He knows how to defense and it sure showed up in that Super Bowl. Poor Rams never looked in synchronization.
Thaddeus Robinson - He repeated the fake story of the taped walk-thru and said they got cheated last time and this team was going to avenge that loss. We said a lot before the Super Bowl. More than most reasonable fan or analyst would say about their opponents.
They only been fans since '03. I lived in new england my whole life, before 2001 i never even seen a person with a jersey on. Fake fans all the way. My high school had Packer banners in our hallways.
The reason the rams lost is they have a jittery quarterback with happy feet and star running back with a flat tire and a head coach that didnt adjust his game play even though his original plan was completely shut down.
Cheated my Saints out of a Superbowl so yall could go and put up 3 damn points. Belichick made Sean Mcvay look like a chump out there. He would have NEVER been able to do that to Sean Payton. Way to get embarrassed on national tv. ⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜⚜
But... DREW BREES THREW A GAME SEALING PICK IN OT, you have your chances to win, but your team blew it! Your coach & QB costed the Saints a SB appearance 😡 #StopMakingExcuses
And what team beat the Bears this season? Hint: It was October 21st.....38 - 31 @ Soldiers Field. GO PATRIOTS!!! Did I mention it was at Soldiers Field? LOL!!!
For whatever reason American sports writers and by extension fans want to hold one person responsible for a win or loss....this was a great team win just like every other win the pats and other teams have had, as a team!
Tony Engardio Did you not see Gilmore on the chase downs and on the defensed passes? Jared Goff barely had any time to breathe in the pocket because the receivers were shut down and the offensive line couldn’t block. That’s the defense.
New England will be in a superbowl final again before Brady and Bill retires. They just want more and more. Bill is 66, another 4 years. Brady is 41, another 2 or 3 years. New England defo is another show piece final but whether they win or not depends which New England turns up for the final as they are known for their slow starts
Skip has zero objectivity when it comes to Tom Brady. The Rams defense just got demoralized at the end when their QB threw a game-losing pick. How you just gonna pretend like that had nothing to do with it?
Brady's still good but he had a lot of help this time. Offense doesn't win championships Coaches don't win championships Defence doesn't win Championships TEAMS win championships.
I don't know why ppl hate on Fisher, he built that entire team. ignorance like this reminds me of like when Gruden won a chip with Dungy's team then dismantled it and lost for next 10 years
Im with you Skip ,you understand what clutch means both on offense and defense..loved the game,,all these broadcasters picking the Rams before super game..suck it up ,wrong ,wrong again..by the way the patriots missed an interception they should of had..right in the hands and he dropped it..the truth is know one is perfect..in basketball if you hit one out of two your considered a great shooter..missing every other one and thats the best.Brady made some poor passes and the young rams quarterback who everyone thought was super, he threw some poor passes..Show me any athlete whose perfect,,,not happening..Quite getting on Brady,, six rings and you still try to demean who the leader is on the field..Coach has a plan but must be brought to fruition by the player..always the Players..
@@MrGetYaAss lol ... i hope yall sent a thank you card to the refs for letting you see overtime .... p.s. ... we are over it already .... Rams on the other hand would be thinking if they were ready for the stage .... not only did it not help create a fanbase for the Rams in LA but the team got humiliated on the biggest stage in professional football .... I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THE EMBARRASMENT ON ERIC DICKERSON'S FACE ...
Skip needs to shut up. Belichick held a 33 point average team to a field goal. Tom Brady made ONE semi-decent touchdown drive, and when both offenses were that pathetic, that was enough to win. That's why Brady isn't the MVP of the super bowl or the league.
@@MichaelMurphy-kj3xf lol I love how everyone remembers I'm a falcons man. Sorry, buddy. Brady should be thanking his defense for that one. How many times in his whole career has he ever put up as little as 13 points? For such an illustrious player, that was bad on Brady's part.
@@emceesmith6665 Every victory requires a team effort. All 45 guys contributed to that win. It wasn't Brady's best game but it was the 9th Super Bowl in which he led a go ahead drive in the 4thQ - when the pressure is highest.
They had more yards rushing against the Pats than the Saints but that's not saying much...The Saints pretty much did the same thing to them and they were coming off a 287 yd rushing performance and the Saints were even without their best D-lineman!
Eric Dickerson they lost because they really didn't beat the saints. The saints beat themselves by playing around with the Rams instead of putting them away.
Skip says the rams defense was great but never gives the patriots defense any credit All is about his hero Brady This was bills super bowl and Skip knows it
