I see both sides. From an entertainment value for the biggest sporting event of the year, it was not fun to watch. I do agree though, there was some spectacular defensive plays on both teams.

My issue is that you officiate game one way in the regular season and then change it up for the playoffs. It happens in the NBA, and it’s starting to happen in the NFL.

It's weird because the NFL put itself in this predicament. Complain about tic tac flags and that defenses can't play anymore and when they do people complain...smh. The NFL made itself so offensively driven that games like this won't be appreciated.

Could it be as soon as he was stopped he got out of his rhthem. I mean he wasn’t mentally prepared. Neither was Goff. Or any of those players. They weren’t mentally prepared. Brady and co has been there. They know the feelings. But this was new to the rams.

Donald , every sport has them. I grew up in the Bay Area and have been a Dub fan since Nate Thurmond and Al Attles. It was hard to find Dub fans then. I imagine you have seen much the same thing with the Red Sox and for a long time with the Pats. If the Celts get their sh it together you guys could possible do a clean sweep of Baseball Football and Basketball. I hope not but its possible

That's was a GREAT game to me. 1. Great defenses. 2 Above avg QBs held in check. 3. Game was always in reach so there remained intensity. 4. These weren't players that put on a show after scoring so it didn't matter. 5. Great to see D wins games in NFL. 6. NFL isn't becoming CFB.

Because that's a lie. They do it with every DC they've had. Yet, somehow, the DC gets hired to be a head coach at a new team, and the Pats defense puts on other clinic in the playoffs. They said Patricia called the plays too. He's in Detroit and the Rams scored 3 points

Not sure how long you've been watching football however prior to headcoach Belicheck was the defense mastermind with the Giants.... although he did have LT!! basically the thought is he is passing the game plan to DC to implement. They loose DC seems every couple years, yet they keep getting the same results. Start yr bad, End great....

Did you not see Belichick working that defense on the sidelines? Not to mention, ALL PLAYS that are called (Off and Def) Belichick hears in his headset. Every play that is called, he reserves the right to change, which he has done before. We'll see how Flores does in Miami. That should be interesting. lol.

I still hold up Super Bowl 49 as my favorite, as a textbook example of what the game should be. Lead changes, big plays by the offense, big plays by the defense, running, passing. The game last night was intense and it captivated me because of the close score, but I will say it was not overly entertaining. Of course, it can easily go the opposite way with a high score- 48 was boring when the Seahawks scored however many points and blew out the Broncos.

That was a football game which is entertaining to those of us who like watching the game of football in all aspects and coaching. It was not a flag football where you can't touch the QB type games casual fans are used to seeing from earlier in the year Rams, saints and chiefs were all hot and scoring bunch of points yet all slowed down a lot by the end I saw people saying rams will crush the pats and end their run yet BB showed how much coaching matters Here is the scary part they have over 10 draft picks in this upcoming draft they will be a lot better next year especially if they get Gordon back and I don't see gronk retiring A well coached team beat a very good star studded team

Whitlock does it again hits the nail on the head. Belichick has been able to adjust to the game as it is played today and to make in game adjustments better than all others. Today's game is all offense and the Rams only score is a 53 yard FG.

The Patriot's defense, especially the secondary, was awesome to watch. They were clutch in breaking up passes every time the game may have been on the line. They never stopped being clutch. Incredible job by the defensive coordinator who is now the Dolphins head coach.

This was a great game of chess, I was highly entertained, ... How was it boring when each team he the opportunity to win from start to Finish, .. a Blowout game is boring, and during a high scoring game for both teams , touch down after touch down I lose interest and find myself , watching RU-vid videos or texting friend during the game. This is the first full game I've watched all season from start to finish.. I wanted to see which defense was gonna break, and which offense is gonna grind there team to a win. The game was up for grabs for both teams

The NFL has trained the fans base to only enjoy games that are high scoring. When the offense is moving the ball against the defense at will, people think it's a good game. When two defenses are dominating the game, people assume the offenses are just playing bad. This was an old school, smash mouth game... and it isn't what most fans want anymore.

They won't say it, but I will. Atlanta didn't want SAINTS in their house, because of the division rivalry. They rigged so SAINTS would lose. One thing I hate about football. In football, refs control what you score and how much. If they ever called the game fair, Vegas wouldn't know the spread.

that's what good defenses will do, make you punt. if you score, the opposing defense where not capable of doing their job. it's like war, a defense is there to stop you, not just slow you down, unless off course they're not strong enough

Seventies style football is absolutely correct and the Patriots are the only team, that can always pull this off. Y'all can have AB, OBJ, MAHOMES and all of those fun to watch players, they're for entertainment purposes only. It was a frustrating game for both sides. Rams missed a lot of opportunities and Pats couldn't finish drives.

Ali vs Frazier was great stuff. Both at their best, specially in their 1st and 2nd....the 3rd was more about Ali toying with Frazer.

It was a great game, not every time is going to be a shoot out, both teams battle till last minute. A good physical game.

Jason W is one my favorite media person because he has excellent perspective on very sensitive and controversial issues. And he always has an intelligent view. Wiley is just loud and platting to the cameras and his obvious scripted opinion. I just miss the hard hitting ‘genuine’ takes from JW. Not just on this video but on many other recent ones.

You gotta respect a real football game. No penalties, two good defensive game plan, not filled with turnovers. Sure a little more scoring would be cool but that's real football with real pride and battling

The game was boring but it wasn't because it was low scoring. You can have an entertaining low scoring game with great defense. This game was just uninteresting.

What we saw was Wade Phillips and Bill Belichick/Brian Flores showing up every young "offencive guru", both defensive coaches put on a show, that was old school in your face defence, Brady had the drive in him, Goff didn't.

Both sides had good defensive plans. This was not an entertaining game for general fans - it was a superbowl for coaches - who can pore over the tape and see how the offenses were stymied. In the end it came down to one possession on each side. The Pats strung together a series of completion and there was a great throw leading to the only TD. The Rams had chances and just couldn't execute.

For me a great defensive performance needs one thing, a good opposing offense to stop. The first half was not good (sadly followed by a less than average half time show) and I would assume most neutral fans were expecting (or at least hoping) for some sort of improvement from both offenses in the second half but as it went on it was only the closeness of the score which kept things vaguely interesting. For the winners it doesn't matter how you get the 'w' in the biggest game only that you got it, for the Rams offensive players they should be ashamed of that non-performance especially considering their defense (with help from the Pats offense) kept them in the game.

This was not a classic defensive game or even a good defensive game. It was well coached by Belicheck for sure. But, McVay was admittedly out coached, Goff was lost and couldn't read the field without his coach in his headset. Belicheck just waited until the last few seconds before getting into his defense so Goff was on own to figure it out himself and couldn't basically. Goff missed wide open receivers and McVay game plan was stagnant making NO adjustments on offense. Rams defense was good which was to be expected but even the pressure on Brady wasn't great they just did a good job keeping them out the red zone.
