This past Friday evening, we attended the club Fox in downtown Redwood City, California. This was an amazing performance by Eric Gales!! Great show and great venue!
A free spirit who plays like nobody else - jazz chords mixed with blues undertones and blistering runs. He plays the guitar left handed upside down with the strings strung as a right handed guitar - his high E string is on top - I don't know how he plays ? ? ?
Ah, the good old days, when people used to gather and celebrate a great artist, enjoy the vibes and breathe one another's air. Thanks for making lockdown a wee bit more bearable.
Man....you can really feel his joy in his playin' and singin'..! Very emotional and honest! A joy for me listening and watching! Thumbs up for Eric and his amazing Band. Thank you. God bless. Greets from Germany.
Man! I’ve been playing for well over 40 yrs and can follow most folks and their hands and chord structures as they play, but upside down and backwards?! All I know is it sounds damn good!🙀🔥🔥🔥🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
No question. I agree 100%! I think Eric is all the blues,Jazz ,Rock and country greats rolled up into one. He has the most unique ability to combine them all and have it flow so seamlessly. He just did a little Hot for the teacher Van Halen bit as I was listening and writing this. Then went Jazz and then right into the bluesy R & B song South Paw Serenade.
I knew Eric was gifted from the first note I heard him play. He may very well be the greatest guitarist I have ever seen/heard in my life. He can play anything... blues, jazz, classical, and he shreds Hendrix like no other player ever all upside down and backwards. This man has all of the guitar DNA of every God who ever played the instrument.
Dude is a flat out beast. I've yet to come across footage of Eric playing live that hasn't sizzled my brain. The smoothness and fluidity of his playing is off the damn chain....
@@mikegogel78 correct, he is not underrated or underappreciated any longer since he went on the cruise with Joe, Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea with so many other great artists. That is where he and Joe decided they would work together on a new release, can't wait for it to come out. If you want to see some of the cruise vids, and they are spectacular, look up postings by 1 Anitras Dance, just fantastic quality
Ey Mom!!!!!!!!! If he´s Lefty and he´s playing a RH guitar, can I do the same on my Bass please, please? Sure Honey!, you can too, jajjajajajaja I love this band. I never get tired of them.
Puxa não conhecia Eric Gales, muito bom. Seus improvisos são realmente sensacionais, aqui de SP Brasil. Obrigado pelo video. Dois canhotos bem raro isso.
SUCH A PLAYER! Ha! A very simple basic tone revealing his aawsome talent! Plays like a young man with old mans wisdom...,Im always been a strat guy, its a pleasure to listen hoe people use it soo differently..., now theres a pedal by Eric Gales: Rawdawg...,just like his basics: good honest cleanish basic tone! never heard a pedal soun more like its master...
Eric Gales playing his signature guitar with his signature on it, hung by his signature guitar strap with his signature on it, wearing his signature shirt with his signature on it, positioned in front of his signature 2-drummer setup each wearing his signature shirt with his signature on it, standing beneath a giant video screen with his signature on it... you know just in case anyone forgets who it is
In this world, a talent needs to put their name out there 24/7. He plays his signature guitar because Fender finds value in it. He is making his signature worth more than ones balance in a checkbook. Saying you are lazy is nothing to admire.
I also wanna know the name of the song, but I think he plays his interpretation of at least two led zeppelin songs and some other artists. I defenetlly sense Your time is gonna come and the intro also gives so much LZ feel. I might be wrong, but anyway, the song is beautiful.
Uh.. he's gotten out on left field. Great tone, but seems he doesn't really need the band. Know what i mean? It's like he's in his own world and just jammin' alone in a music store. Bassist is non existent. Eric just takes off into wierd shit that don't fit sometimes. It would sound SO much better with a little reverb on the vocal. I don't get it. Dude. Whats up? You're playing either way to fast of a lick, or its a one riff train wreck. Calm down and let the band play too..like a song. LoL Like you used to.
He is a free spirit and unpredictable - you won't get the same performance in 6 months time caused he's moved on - he's like trying to catch lightning in your hands - these types of creative people are in their own world and sometimes you won't understand - and then now and again you get the genius shining through and NOBODY can touch them.
