same, i was talking to my friends and this girl joined in on the convo and she said " get your nasty deep voice out of here". it kinda resonated with me for a good 2-3 years then i decided that my deep voice was a good thing not a bad thing.
Came here after someone on Geoff Castelucci's cover recommended it... a full couple years later.😅 I don't know what I was expecting, but this is way better than I could have imagined. That's a beautiful voice, dude. Also, I did read the description: I'm not a bass, but a low baritone and have experienced some similar admonishments for my low voice. Awesome message, my dude.
Bro your vocal range especially the lowlife bass vibes are immaculate. The singing I'll hear at the pearly gates, no doubt. Thank you, I wish I wasn't too old and too high pitched to sing like that. I know I'm 3 years too late but I'd literally love to thank you personally. Best bass singer alive, without question.
You inspire my boyfriend! He learned that he has a basso profundo voice, and he used to be self-conscious of it, but seeing you embrace it made him feel so much better! He finds your voice really amazing! I knew you would inspire him. Thank you.
Actually I didn't like my low voice when I was young, but these days, I love it. I want to train my voice and sing along to your song. Thank you very much.
Your voice fits this song so well. I've been on a kick of listening to bass vocalists lately, and you've definitely been one of, if not the best I've heard thus far. This and Hoist the Colors have been my go-to's. Keep up the amazing work!
I can not believe it. On one occasion I sent him a message saying "you should sing sexteen tons" and he replied "I'm doing something about that", I don't remember the exact words. Only now do I realize that he did. Incredible, fabulous! That is a really thick and heavy voice. Others who sing those notes don't sound that forceful. He doesn't do those falsettos that you see a lot out there, but they are really his vocal cords and so he can do it with that great natural volume. Congratulations and thank you very much for giving us your talent.
You should do a tuba player vs a Basso Profundo video. It would be fun to see an instrumentalists and a person have fun. Thank you Eric for your incredible Bass voice. I can't add much volume to my low E1 like you but I enjoy listening to Basso Profundo singers it's an inspiration to the younger generation of Bass singers.
@@thatbassvoice Ha! Another tuba player here. I'd love to be the next Mikhail Zlatapolsky, but alas, it looks like I'm only destined for bass range (I barely meet the operatic definition for basso profundo singing Eb one ledger line below the bass clef at forte). I enjoy your singing and hope that you continue to gain recognition for it.
Oh, take me back! I remember my Dad singing this song. Now I'm old enough, I went from Tenor to Baritone. I could sing it just one octave higher than you! hahahhahah Beautiful voice. Found you from David's intro of you and referral to your bass role in "In Christ Alone". Excellent. So glad to have found this! And that laugh at the end is icing on the cake! Fun!
@@littleshadow2707 They have very similar ranges. Mr.Hollaway goes down to around an E1 in this. Even Thurl's lowest was similar . And like Mr. Hollaway, Thurl was a voice actor, and he was a legendary one.
As a tenor, this absolutely blows my mind, I've dabbled with low singing before and i could only dream of hitting those notes with subharmonic or vocal fry, big up man, beautiful voice.
Again and again, I keep listening to this. Its so good! I am a bass in my choir (you sing those low notes flawlessly) , and this gave me more inspiration to really to try and better at my singing abilities. Doing musicals and hopefully I will start taking singing lessons by a professional. I hope you are doing well! Stay safe!
Hi Eric, I've watched almost all of your videos now Look I've got a deep voice, but it feels unstable, like some days and some times of the day I can relax more and get lower I'm 22 right now, is that something that will settle with age or os there something I can do to help it?
Thanks Jarred! There are many factors that could determine your future voice. Take care of it, practice and sing all the time. Your true voice will reveal itself with age ...sometimes over and over again.
I have always LOVED this song. It was one of my dad's very favorites, and I grew up singing it...but not quite like this. GREAT JOB! Came here through your video made for David Wesley. Subscribing now, and hitting the bell for ALL videos. Thank you!!! :-D
Hey, Eric! You are so talented, I love your voice! Could you sing In the hall of the mountain king Perr Gynt, now? Please!!!! Your voice matches perfect for whatever music is!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
baritone guys are a whole different breed of vocalists. i would love to hear you do some Cherokee or Sioux throat singing, that would be absolutely killer.
Wow! I'm saving this for later because I know I'm going to want to listen to this again. I was just researching tips for improving bass tone and found this.
I like how you did this in E versus the original key of F#. I actually liked how you chose to sing the final E at E3 to show you don't need to always go low -- I very well know you could have resolved it at E1 to be flashy, but chose not to.
That was a fun video the way you were doing this even without musical background I love your energy you always look like you have an amazing time! Question would you call yourself a true bass like avi kaplan, elliott robinson,, etc? I'm not a true bass by any means I'd say I'm a bass baritone or at least a low baritone the lowest chest note I know I've hit is an early morning F1 to E1 but very rarely and they don't sound the best and A4 is the highest chest note I know I've hit and my full range that I know of is G#0(rarely!)-G#5(rare) so that's my range and voice type according to my knowledge but can you tell me your opinion and if you call yourself a true bass?
our range is our range, but there are things you can do to "stretch" your range. Ultimately, make the most of what you have. I'm a true bass, actually an Oktavist.👊🏾
My tips apply to singers in general, no matter the part you sing. Practice breath control, relaxing the vocal cords while singing, stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, warm up properly and learn "your" instrument ...it's capabilities and limitations. Most of all, have fun singing.
If it's been that long with no positive results, being a bass may not be in your future. Find comfort in your true range and enjoy the voice you have right now.
No, he couldn't, because Tim goes a full piano span below Contra G to a G-7. Vocal fry or not, nobody else has ever gotten down that far, and it's completely inaudible at that point. Also, I don't think Eric cares to compete with Tim, because his voice quality blows Tim's out of the water.
@@hypercubemaster2729 Very doubtful really. Guinness record is known for not being transparent in the way they measure things. See the Chin up world record and you'll see what I mean.
I got admonished once in a church singing class by the teacher for singing low. As a bass baritone, I thought my voice was decently deep. Not even close to this though lol
