This was a suggestion from my mates while I was working on site up north, and when I checked out the chords and had a crack at it - it really worked! Eric Idle might be a bit "irreverent", but this song is silly and fun. It is the closing scene for Monty Pythons "Life of Brian". Again, more irreverence, but don't take life too seriously.
The arrangement is mostly in chords, I fret up an F thumbing the F on 6th and leave the 5th A open. It is a way to make F almost an open chord, and thus easier to swap between other open chords. Pinky is important on the left hand in this one too :)
I've also defaulted to flicking on the 2nd and 4th beats, which is a style that I can relax into pretty easily. I like the song filling feel out it creates, as far as fingerstyle goes it is good bang for your buck. It can sound repetitive, so I must make sure that I don't always use it. I kept the intro down to simple fingerpicking though. Tempo-free. Heh, the intro worked out really cool, did you like that?
