In this video I demonstrate how to get an Eric Johnson type sound from an inexpensive Fender Squier Bullet Stratocaster! All the pickups and electronics are stock.
The tone control on the bridge pickup allows you to shape the input EQ of the signal chain.
Here's the wiring diagram: support.fender....
Signal chain: Squier Bullet - EP Booster - BB Preamp - Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer - TC Flashback Delay(Tape delay) - Line 6 Pod 2.0 (Brit Blues) - Presonus Audiobox - Sonar X3 (with reverb and delay added)

wow what a great tone with that squier bullet with stock PU.. so basically EJ's tone its just TS+Reverb+delay? +turn the tone down? can i have EJ's tone with zoom g3x or other multi fx? not a small multi fx like g2/g1.u/etc

I would say the distortion is fairly "complex". Eric Johnson does it with loud tube amps and loading up the front end of the signal chain with various boosts/drives. Iam using 5-5 or 4-4 tone on my fender squier bullet strat its true or false ?

I wired one of the tone controls to work on the bridge pickup. The tone pot is pretty cheap, so you have to turn it down quite a ways to hear the effect.
