Previously to this band I was listening to Phil Collins Big Band which must have had around or over 35 members, Phil on the drums plus a Timbales player and even an orchestra conductor with over 11 horns, rithmn guitar, strumming guitar and what have you... And playing this same piece at a bit slower beat and THIS band with only 5 guys blew the roof off the stage!!! Wow!! What Talented guys!! Much. MUCH Better and Funkier than Phil Collins "Big Band"... and Just as good as Candy Duffer ensemble group... JUST AMAZING..! wOW! Wow! WOW..!!! This is the best version that I've had heard next to the original AWB Group... KaBoomm!!!!!
Every time I see this Epic Performance I find new Harmonic Amazing Details to get excited about & something new 2 appreciate like the incredible synchronicity of these Saxophone players... Wow..!! I've seen the Original band multiple times across the years and other covers but these Musical Geniuses of Funk by a Long, Long Mile OUT PERFORM The Original band... Mesmerizing..!!!
Holy Smokes!!! THIS TUNE *STILL* GETS MY BLOOD HOT EVERY TIME I HEAR IT!! So remember the times, when this ( AWB) first came out!!l It Will Always Be TIMELESS!! THANK YOU!!🤗🤗🤗🎤🎶🎺🎷🎸🎸🎹Awesome Back Up!! 👍👍💝💓
Do you AGREE that (at least the saxes & the drummer) sound even better and more funkier than the original AWB themselves? I’ve listened to every live version of AWB and THIS ONE is just so superb that it knocks off all the others… BTW… The Sax Solos Alone are the Cherry on top!
I think he's playing to a click as I hear another guitar part and don't see 2 guitarists :) not to take that away from him, it's still very impressive.
Very tight and on tune..to the funk sound of the Scottish funk band AWB. ..thanks for the great cover and tribute to Average White Band of the 70's and early 80's. Bravo.!!
We are in august 2022 and this kind of quality is exceptional, wish humanity retain such real musicians vs digital music. As said in previous posts, never get tired for this masterpiece !
Amazing... Eric and Tom are masterful on their individual solos. You can hear Eric's style and identify him without looking to see who's playing. The whole thing goes up another level when they improvise together. Neither soloist is competing, but both complimentary to each other and on tight with the groove. I have many, many more hours of practice, but maybe, one day when I grow up, I can come somewhere near the same zip code as these cats... wow...
OMG! That was awesome. I love Eric Marienthal's uniqueness with that Sax. Tom Evans is good to and they play well together. I would love to sit in on a jam session with them. They picked a fantastic song too.
