The Fifth Element is a movie that really touched my heart. People may see it as a cheesy Sci Fi flick, but I don't. From the music, to set design, to the cast.Everything about this film is perfect to me. This is definitely one of my all time favorite movies.
It was deliberately cheesy in some regards, many of the scenes were satire of existing Sci-Fi tropes (like the fact the priests wear Jedi Knight ropes, and Zorg is dressed in the most overtly villainous fashion possible, and that there's a "Jesus" character who they mocked by making it a hot woman).
I also agree completely. It's the closest thing to a perfect film. It's also one of the only sco-fi flms that sci-fi haters can enjoy. Another one I love is Blade Runner and I listen to its soundtrack all teh time.
The fifth element was me and my dads favorite movie. We watched it so much. He passed on last september and listening to this really made me appreciate the laughs and smiles i had watching this so many times with him. ❤
My dad showed me this film when I was about 4 or 5, he probably didn't think I was paying attention but this movie will be my favorite movie of my life for the rest of my life and it'll always be something I connect with my dad. So sorry for your loss, we can always remember our loved ones with the memories they've given us
Do you guys ever feel a deep and wide sadness, sort of like a yearning for home or the yearning for the embrace of someone who truly loves and understands you? There's just something about this music that makes me think there's got to be more, that maybe this place isn't truly meant to be our home.
+Carlos Munoz we were created here, 4 sure mate we dont belong here. we belong on mars 4 sure mate. how can people be so stupid? this planet is our fucking home not some other planet. just because human beings ruined this planet it means we dont belong here? give me a fucking break would you. stupid people unbelievable. you dont even think before you throw up some idiotic ideas on the internet. unbelievable
+Carlos Munoz we are home but for others its a stepping stone. home is where the heart is at. Mine is here but the heart is scattered in different times of different people. Perhaps people can find home here somewhere, in another time, within our dreams, and maybe amongst the stars
wow thats sooooo true, this life, earth, theres more and in us lies the answer to all the mysteries its all encoded within us.... Love is really the 'fifth element'
I just think... why protect the life... If everything we create... it's made for destroying... sometimes I'll say... yes... no reason to protect the life... and sometimes... I'll say... there are wonderful things to save, and there are the reason... I hope that my answer will be always the second... because everything can be fantastic... and everything can be a sadness... a prison in our mind... let's hope... and makes this life deigned to be protected...
"How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?" Dr. Seuss
You do realize I was quoting the film that this score is from, yes? This isn't my own invented aphorism. This is part of the dialogue of one of the Mandoshawan's at the begging of the film. But then again, that's just like, part of the script dude.
I have never heard a song that moved me so much from a feeling of being happy, then sadness and vice versa. All I can say is that all the people who have taken the time to leave a comment here have to be very sensible and emotional as they have probably taken the time to listen to the full song like myself. This song makes me feel like plunging into a totally different world where only good people lives. Love u all.
She's more fragile then she seems. love the quote as it reminds us how the most fragile have to stay strongest, even lending what strength they have to others. ode to the ones that give everything that they are to others, even when they have nothing left to give.
I rearly post something here.... but.. I read some words that make my heart warm... and make me feel to believe in a better world. I'm always a bit angry... a bit sad... a bit confused... and now a bit drunk... just a bit... but I love this movie and this music... make me feel in a better world... in a world where people try to protect life.... this is fantastic... really
I always said music is like my color. Without it life itself would be colorless and dull. Blatantly plain and neutral. Music is one of the many multidimensional ways of communication.
I'll never forget seeing this in the theatre. I don't remember the experience too well, but I do remember coming to the theatre, how excited my father was to go see it and hearing the clip of Leloo introducing herself in the radio as we pulled into town. 1997 wasn't a good year for us, but there are always moments in the hardest times that protect life.
Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell. everybody in this comment section is special, we are unique, we are life. protect it.
I'd hope so i mean the song was composed For the movie. It wasn't made before or after. The song was actually wrote for the movie and it was amazing :D
opening our hearts to love some times our eyes cry for that place where we want to be whole a place of completeness, accepting and protecting eachother unfolding to all the elements and love is the middle element of all... embrace now.......
I loved the film on so many levels, one of the rarely seen things (these days) is the depiction of men having sensitivity as a strength, not a weakness. Korben asks Leeloo for her name in short. He smiles and softly says back "Leeloo"
Serra did a marvelous job with the film's score. I love this piece particularly because it is very cathartic and thought-provoking. About the value of life. Give credit to Luc Besson, too. The climatic scene coincides with this score flawlessly.
Humankind did only two beautiful thing in this world, Science and Art, and this music is a perfect example that shows deep emotions translated in Music, Thank You Eric
this melody grew within my soul every day since 97 ... it's beauty driven me to find love , or at least seek for it ...and settle for NOTHING BUT TRUE LOVE
Do you guys feel that you have a feeling to forget about our routine in this life? sometimes you just realized that a sky, an earth can speak to us that we should open our mind to think about it. When you see a sky I always believe this world, this galaxy always have a lot of history or secret things or something that we never know and they will show us something incredible someday. And I always believe that I want to see something we never see, more than just imagination. I think some people are having same thing like me which is until they made a movie to open our mind to see something that we never realized,we never imagine. And one more time I believe we will see this thing someday! Sorry if you guys couldn't undertand what I was saying, if you understand that feeling you just give thumb or comment below. Regards,, Sci-fi..
Rere Reynaldi you want to create or at least see what can be created, to believe there can be, there is something more for everyone out there than what we have right now. I'm the same.
No se si entiendas en español, pero joder esa frase es la mejor que e leído, me a encantado, y la película, desde niño fue un de mis favoritas, que bonito comentario
recently saw the movie again on the big screen in a theatre - it was still amazing visually and, of course, works on many levels, helped very much by its soundtrack and pieces such as this
" I've… seen things you people wouldn't believe… Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those… moments… will be lost in time, like [small cough] tears… in… rain. Time… to die…"
I don't think Fifth Element could have ever been made without Blade Runner. There's so much similarities between the two. Maybe they take place in the same world.
There are so many beautiful soundtracks. Whether it comes from Hans Zimmer or Alan Silvestri or just a good film with a brilliant soundtrack, what Éric Serra has created here is like a pose for life. In 2 minutes and 34 seconds, this piece ignites sadness, harmony, happiness and heartache all at the same time. No matter how many times I've heard this revelation, at 1:42 all the dams open. Tears flow whether from happiness or sadness, I don't know... The hair stands up to the sky and every single skin cell turns into goosebumps. It's just incredible and I'm immensely grateful to know and experience this beautiful song again and again.
on of my favourite child's movie, it was one of my totem's movie. i looked every time, on old tv and VHS,. i looked maybe 1 time on DVD. now in bluray on my TV. I thinked first, i will laugh at this movie, of course kinda nostalgie but i didn't see the emotions coming, maybe old souvenirs i burried or digged to forget. And this is really strong emotions simply evocate, love, life. I thinked to someone i loose , i was close to cry at this moment of this movie, i just was in fun before ! so yeah, this music, in hig quality thx to bluray, i rediscovered it with high def. The film is an all in one. Sry for my english i'm french, i visited the Luc besson's studios in few days, i saw the real cars of the movies in center of a big room !
fireoil it's beautiful when you find a new meaning to something. I get what you're saying. It was for me too a fun movie to watch in my teenage years. And now I'm 36 and it means so much more to me now. I see a message of how hate destroys life, and love is hope. I see it in the way we treat others and our planet and the importance of saving both
This track made me feel cold inside because it reminds me of being a child again loving this movie and then realizing I can't go back to that moment in life ever again.
I love how people of my age try to seek extra layers to this movie, some hidden sense-something that could justify how obsessed they were with it back then. Truth is, there's none. It is just a sci-fi comedy, which was turned into a romantic story by amazing Eric Serra's music and adorable young Milla. That's it, no hidden sense. But I too watched it like a hundred times in 97-98 and a few times recently. Lol.
The score by Eric Serra was absolutely beautiful, every time I hear his musical scores like Goldeneye or The Fifth Element, brings so many childhood memories, he’s so ahead of his time, not afraid to push boundaries musically, being creative and daring, that has become very rare these days.
TheReezerify there must be some real good lying beyond this bad we're all going through. I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to truly experience the good this life is said to have. In any case, I'm not done. I haven't given up
the creator of fifth element, which is one of my favs, is also the creator of the movie Lucy, another great film....Luc besson...he was a child of nature, growing up, with parents who were diving teachers all over europe, middleeast, north africa...writing these screenplays as a teen....emersed in the planetary Mother.
The scene in this movie and this song is a very powerful message to humanity. Hopefully we wake up one day and respect life and mother earth . and stop all the hate and learn to love one another.
I never realized until another day when I watched this movie how many songs were basically remixes of my favorite song from the soundtrack: Five Millenia Later. It's a beautiful song and this one is no exception. The sheer emotion behind it.
I listen to this song when I go to sleep it just puts my mind and body at ease I feel that a weight have been lifted off my shoulder like I have no worry in the world.
i just enjoy Eric's music.so wonderfully picked for this movie and all its scenes. enjoy this and think of a memory or even do a scene on your living room floor quoting the script lol
This song makes me sad, but it’s so beautiful. It makes me think of how hard it is to love myself..and for me to give that love for someone else almost as if I’m just to broken to love anybody, or trust
