Man it really dont look bad its because ppl in erie think if you not white or dont live above 28 th street ,that it is somehow ghetto. I swear erie has its own stupid way of seeing the world and follows but dont know what they are doing .
I hate when people bash something or talk smack about something that they are lying about or have no clue about Erie Pennsylvania's beautiful and I'm from New Jersey and I want to move there
I don't think they get many people in from the eastern NY/NJ/PA area. It's pretty far from Jersey, you'd think it's "close" being in PA but it's a 6-7 hour drive.
Erie's one of the easiest "large" towns to get around in. Not much traffic & the streets are numbered & laid out like a checkerboard. Never had a problem in Erie. Buffalo NY's downtown is confusing for out of towners w many 1 way streets & also the main streets are laid out like the spokes of a wheel....
What can save Erie, Pa is for the folks there to change their attitude about Erie and make a slow, steady improvement to the place. Be kind to each other.
Missed all the blocks...all of the lower eastside...two whole block on 24th..left out 22nd all together smh.....basically you went through the nice neighborhoods in the hood
@@snakebait5118 same I lived n that area for 15 plus years. It wasn't to bad in the day but its getting awful. I moved a long time ago due to the east sides nothing to do almost ever9nes on something just to deal n crime is awful. The west side is nice but u have to be well off to live its sad.
@@shyluna7107 I have bad memories of Erie from my childhood. Really bad! But that was over 60 years ago. God has been good to me and transplanted me in the late 70's in the Military to several places that are awesome. Virginia, Okinawa, Tinian Island in the Marianas, Iwakuni Japan, Yuma, Arizona and finally settling in NC. I've been here for 30 years and happy! I don't even like to visit Erie!
My uncle used to have a cottage near lake Erie and could get to the lake via a pond that opened onto the lake... I haven't been in Erie for nearly 60 years ( I'm 64 )...
You obviously don’t know how Erie is, there is tons of shootings in the lower east side and drive bys almost everyday. Ride your bike down there, you will probably get robbed as soon as you go down 23rd.
@@zenithfox04 Exactly it’s making me mad cuz he didn’t even go to the lower east side that’s where everything happenes even in sum parts on the west side it’s bad
I was born in Erie in 1950 and it proved to be to me "A Town Without Pity". My father was killed in an explosion at Lovells Manufacturing in 1957 when I was six and life went south for me and my younger sister, as my mother became an alcoholic and created hell for us. My sister couldn't deal with the horrid memories and became an alcoholic herself but was denied the alcohol by her piece of crap husband and started drinking Listerine which destroyed her liver and kidneys. She couldn't heal after five bypass surgery and died. Her husband already had a replacement girlfriend when she became ill. A lot of bad memories linger there for me, a lot of ghosts. My wife and I just celebrated our 44th Anniversary here in North Carolina which God has blessed. We have two beautiful, successful daughters with two beautiful, healthy, intelligent grandchildren and God has blessed us all! I only return to Erie once a year so my wife can visit her sister and I visit one of my best friends there.
e2sguy yes, I agree, but for me it's difficult returning as there are too many ghosts. You'd think I'd be over it in my old age but it's haunting. My old neighborhood is rotting. So many houses are literally rotting, some have been torn down. The house I lived in is nonexistent, it's an empty lot. It's also sad to see the city go down the drain as it was a busy industrial town. Now it's been selected to be a dump station for muslim immigrants by the previous administration. Industry continues to leave. The coup de grace is the moving of the G.E. plant to Texas. But it's all good, my wife and I are happy in our beautiful little house in North Carolina, a state we fell in love with 26 years ago and stayed. Thank you for being concerned! Life is good! But I really miss the fishing up there!
John Bojack you have made a lot of good points about Erie and it’s all true . Jobs left and immigrants flooded in . I own investment property in Erie myself but live an hour away in a much nicer area .May the Lord bless your family and it’s my prayer you can heal from the struggles you faced and find inner peace.
e2sguy thanks brother! God has blessed me tremendously! My wife of 44 years is a gift from God! Our daughters are successful who married two great guys. Our two grandchildren have high aspirations, our grandson has been drag racing since he was 16, he'll be 19 in a couple of days. Our granddaughter is an outstanding artist turned 16 a couple of months ago. God has been good! The wounds have healed but the scars remain. I could write a book about the nightmare my sister and I endured, but much of it would be hard to believe. I'm sure it could've been worse, but God has carried me through and has given me wisdom. I have learned much about life through my experiences. Thanks for your prayers brother!
It is so sad to think that 30-50 years ago these places were filled with happy families just trying to make an honest living and do right by their families. I can only imagine the pride a man felt to buy a house and have a wife and kids to love and take care of in such a nice place.
mant, his guy posts cities in different states every day. Can you imagine how many miles his truck has racked up? I hope he gets seriously good discounts on hotels and lodging. Not to mention oil changes.
I miss Erie so much. I live in Massachusetts now. You cannot tell me that Erie a bad place to live. Thankyou for your time today And have a wonderful day your fan Sandra 😊 happy times for me🥳
Erie is a horrible place to live people act like there’s no crime my friend was just recently a victim of gun violence and died and I’ve been held up at gun point before during the night, it’s great if you look outside the inner city, but horrible if you look at the inner city and the shit that goes on
Erie went downhill because they lost all the manufacturing jobs. When people can't make a decent living they have no $ to spend and you end up with a rundown town. It doesn't help that the weather is crap 70-80% of the time.
Charliebo313 you probably noticed people from Erie Pa have serious staring problems this is way before crime even increased still better than more than 70% of cities in america.
I was born and raised in Erie. I faintly remember school teachers talking about jobs going overseas and out of Erie. In the 80s, driving down 12th st was sad. Many, many run-down and abandoned buildings that looked like they once thrived with industry.
i would like to know what you classafy a hood ?? poor people who are having a hard time making it in today life ,,,😢😢 Because that is all i see in all your video"s judge,,ing the poor. i see no drugs no vilonce you just driving around the poor side of town and calling it The hood "". Your video"s blow's
@@buggy.bean_c0s177 Thanks for your reply and he needs to go back to where ever he came from 😁💯 liveing in my. own hood in ALABAMA. LMAO 😁 😁💕 He is JOKE
I live between york and Lancaster pa reminds me of a typical pa town and I lived in Philadelphia and this is by way nicer then reading or Harrisburg pa or York or I can go on
I stopped by at a few places during a roadtrip recently. I'm a Philly native(Port Richmond). Erie felt like Cleveland on Xanax. Very weird city, nothing like eastern PA.
Sheesh. This is NOT the hood. It's actually a really nice place. (Trust me, I live there!) There's a good part of Erie and a bad part. This is one of the much better ones! If it's the REAL hood you're looking for... Three words. 22nd and Parade.
Lived in Erie my whole life I’m 28 now lived in the hoods and most of the time everyone was friendly, my father was murdered in Erie in 2001, but other than that not too bad there (wasn’t gang related murder)
Charlie DO you work as a Security or something? Dont you get scared when doing this? Love all your videos is SHOws the america we dont usually see on tv here in Sweden.
Eventually I will, probably spring or next summer. I have been to LA and Oakland I Had some videos of both places posted early on but I took them down. I still have the videos if I can find them I might repost them as throwback videos. They are from about 3 years ago.
@@SneakyGang412 you don’t know what your saying 10th and ash is horrible east 6th is horrible this dude only drove on the middle east side he didn’t even go to the lower east side
@@curry3824 I’ve been all over Erie and it’s not horrible so to say…. Just like every city it got it’s bad neighborhoods but I wouldn’t consider it horrible …. Shout out my folks from the terrace…..
By humans, do you mean white people? You racist trash heap. Glad you’re not anywhere near my beautiful city anymore 👍 I moved to Erie from Chicago to be with an incredible woman who is now my wife. We currently live in this neighborhood, where she grew up and went to East High School. We are proud of our community and though there is always some work to be done, we’re all HUMANS here and treat each other as such.
I recognize the East side.Yep, pretty run down. From about E. 10th to E. 26th, was the Polish area of town. The West side from about W. 16th to W. 26th was Little Italy.
grew up in erie but have not lived there in 30 years and I may have put in a comment before not sure... not sure exactly where this is like I said been a long time since I lived there but some of the houses remind me of the area where my grandparents lived. Sometimes i miss it even though the whole place has gone completely to shit. But At least you can buy a decent house there
I used to watch channel 35 (Erie) as a child. I've heard of Peach Street. I heard its "rough". The areas depicted in the video seem ok. I'd like to see Erie for myself one of these days. .
Next time come in July, and start of east 2nd street down on parede st, Ash street,Wallace street wayne street, all the way up to 21st , the hood people and activity it's on harbonation from November all the way til summer hits again, also hit the projects on east 18th street right off buffalo by roger young park and john horan projects aka franklyn terrace, but only in the summer the bears come out
I used to go to Thomas Jefferson elementary school in the early 80s. Lived in the Franklin Terrace. Can someone tell me about that place and how its doing now? I would love to visit my old stomping grounds someday and see how its changed. I live in the Washington DC/Baltimore area now.
Let’s just say it’s gonna be completely different than when you last left it’s not bad but it does have some stupid crime city trying to be something that they’re not
compared to ther cities Erie is tame but the city is not that that big maybe !00,000 people maybe less. use to be third largest city in the state after Philly and Pittsburgh :-)
Compared to places like Chicago Baltimore or Detroit where people get killed walking up the street 365 days a year, occasional shootings aren't so bad. The worst neighborhoods in Erie are half decent neighborhoods in the cities I just named
Aye I was born on West 3rd street in Erie,PA but I Alwaysed lived in Pittsburgh pa with my 2year old brother and 1 year old brother 12 year old brother Step dad and mom, I'm 10years old
you completely missed the hood😂 you didn’t even go through any of the many project building areas that literally look like a subdivision of only project homes
Gentrification doesnt make shit run down dumbass.. Other way around. Im in erie and im from nyc and gentrification happens there too way worse and it makes it more expensive but it's safer and cleaner in those areas
Well Mr CharlieBo313, I find your videos interesting. If that is what they call a "Hood" in Erie PA, then I would be happy to move there. You should see my hometown "Hood; West Philadelphia. PA. Erie, PA looks like Disneyland compared to where I grew up. Keep them coming, the rest of America should see it form themselves and not just assume what it is really like.
Hurricane Jones. Right on. I know that area very well. I grew up on 50th Street and Haverford AVE, 3 blocks North of Market. Then we moved to 46th and Walnut street. 44th and Market was rough because of the "Projects". I would have to get off the "EL" at 46th street to get home with a little peep in my step if I was by myself until I got closer to my "Block". If you got caught wandering around looking stupid or lost for two long, you were liable to lose your chump change by a couple of residents from the 'Projects". I am not going to live back in that neighborhood, never again.
Marco Anaya I know exactly what you mean, man. 46th is where I would catch the EL to go to work at 8pm. It was even sketchy at that relatively early hour. Those high rise projects have been there since I can remember and I'm 39. I grew up in Darby so I'm used to the hood but I don't plan on moving back to Philly anytime soon. I'm in a nice suburban town in Delaware County and it's like Beverly Hills compared to where I lived in West and South Philly😁 Where do you live now?
Marco Anaya It's because he's not in the "hood" , he's driving around in a decent neighborhood. Poor navagation if he's seeking ghetto areas. He needs to be lower than 22nd Street. Totally wasted coverage. U ppl. have no clue
I have heard of Canadians coming to shop in Erie since it's a low cost city. Erie has Tim Hortons coffee, too. Technically there is a PA/Ontario border on Lake Erie...
Why not??? Who has the time and money to just travel around the country from ghetto to ghetto? Why would you want to? What are you doing in the ghetto when the cameras are off? Just sightseeing for personal reasons or are you doing something that your not supposed to?
Jon Miller its something he enjoys doing and people want to see these areas. Its interesting, its not that complicated. I doubt charlie is smoking crack when the cameras are off. You're here for a reason, you must be subscribed
Jon Miller some people like spending their time traveling instead of watching TV... And he gets some pretty good footage. One of his clips was in a Jay-Z video. Its just real life stuff can't get any more raw and real..
OK you are right. Yes I am subscribed to this channel for those very reasons. I am not from these areas and seeing them is interesting to me and thats why I watch the videos. I would still like to hear from charlie though.
MAKE ANOTHER "ERIE, PA HOODS",he's too high in streets... Could've did more of East 24th street Wayne, Wallace, Perry, Brandes etc. Do D.own T.He W.ay and some projectz 2...Get some flicks of the West side 2.,Could do West 5th Walnut ,Poplar, Etc.
I almost forgot thanks for the video but you could make it a little more interesting because I can hear you driving I hear your turn signals on there is some audio in your truck the least you could do is tell the people what street you're on and where you're heast West North South and give us that information... I lived in Erie for probably close to 20 years and I don't remember exactly all of the streets from every part of town so that would be helpful thank you
