A man thought he was insulting me when he told me I remind him of her. He cracked up. He thought it was hilarious. I just told him that's a compliment because she is a beautiful, intelligent confident African American Woman.
Our men are so disgusting he meant cause she's dark skin irregardless of her career intelligent and contribution. Just disgusting that's why I'm real good on them and a serious conversation and relationship. Just fun time galore.
Raucus Rap & Ratchet Reality shows are what happened! Watched some episodes of UNSUNG & the music industry had the SAME DEMISE. Record Label Executives said GOOD QUALITY MUSIC wasn't selling, everybody wanted derogatory, mysogynist Gangsta Rap.
I actually love sitcoms from 70s to early 00s. There are quite of bit great sitcoms I'm the early 00s EVE, Girlfriends, Half & Half, Everybody Hates Chris, and a few more.
She is so articulate and beautiful, some people dont need to go to college to be educated and well spoken...love this interview. What an extraordinary woman.
To each its own, but I fear God way too much not to trust in him ONLY! Life is always advocating for us to win, we just have to pay attention. I've heard all of my life about "witchcraft", I never believed in it. 2020, I learned that a few people in my family are heavily into witchcraft, which explains the existing family ALBATROSSES. I'm not a proponent in the practice, but this thumbnail has been showing up on my RU-vid page for days. Erika blessed me on a myriad of levels, she's made it make sense...
She literally said the same creators made “Friends”, which was one of the options for “Living Single” to be named. How is it copied when the same people made both shows?
She talk with much delicacy. Just listen to her. She's always prepared too. Id listen to her talk all the time. She's articulate. Elegant. You can tell she studies life.. so calm. How'd I miss this Interview. She's so bomb!!! "You don't get tomorrow, you get today " she's structured!
Yes I have always thought that too about her. Go watched the reruns of her on the show in the 1990s called Living Single. I loved how she looked on the show and her character on that show was really funny.
Erika Alexander and Tichina Arnold (Pam from Martin) are the 2 that I credit for making me love and appreciate my beautiful dark skin as a young teen during the 90's when it wasn't appreciated to be dark-skinned (at least where I was at in Brooklyn, NY). They also made help me to realize that there is nothing wrong with being owning my strength, independence, intelligence and beauty as a dark skin black woman when everyone else around me was saying or demonstrating the opposite.
I'm originally from Brooklyn and remember being picked on for my dark complexion. From elementary school to middle school, it didn't happen often but when it did I was so surprised that kids so young could harbor such hate for another's skin tone. Made me appreciate how I was raised.
I wholeheartedly agree both two very beautiful women that I see in the same light. Just their personality alone will make you stand up and take notice it comes from a deep place from within their soul and I love the way they make you see them it’s very special
I'm gonna have to listen to this twice, it's an awesome interview, the voodoo stuff had me shock for a minute but she said so much gems that it fads in the background, lol wow
Thank u! I say this all the time, why isn't regular or natural beauty appreciated? Overdone makeup, tons of weave and eyelashes get u in the door, but being yourself, hah, not so much. Or at least not on a regular basis. Oh well, I'll carry on.
I absolutely love her demeanor! She has come from such adversity and still move on as if it's just a lesson to learn! I could listen to her speak forever!
I remember watching the show when I was a kid and she was my favorite character. I always thought she was so funny and so beautiful...even till this day.
I love her. She is wise, modest, and caring. She is a truth teller. Excellent interview. I'm so glad I found this and was able to really get to know Erika Alexander on a whole new level. She's wonderful!!
Goodness gracious this woman is such a gem!! I’ve been a fan since Living Single first came out in the 90’s and I was a 15 year old. She just exudes regalness, excellence, higher consciousness, and historical knowledge of her peoples! Just a brilliant mind, not to mention she’s beautiful!! I just love her!! This is the second time listening to this particular interview 😂
Someone hire this woman! Damn! One of the most insightful Breakfast Club interviews! Sad part is Nene & RHOA overshadow everything. Max & Kyle educated positive black role models. The 90’s had so many powerful black shows; Living Single, Roc, etc. Ae took two giant steps backwards in the 2000’s with a few exceptions. Smh.
This is one of the most interesting interviews I have seen on here! Erika is very well spoken! She has amazing wisdom as well! I wish this would have been longer!
Rarely do I watch an entire episode of the Breakfast Club because I can't deal with Angela and her low-key shade, and Charlamange's consistent disrespect. And rarely can I take people in entertainment seriously because they think speaking in a serous tone and saying a bunch of big words makes them sound smart. But Ms. Erika had my full attention the entire time because LIFE raised her yet she's still standing strong and walking tall!!!
Her knowledge and intellect is so real and natural and she does come off with a superiority complex. She the type of person that you can kick it with and talk junk and be silly but at the same time become enlightened, she's a real one.
She’s so freakin deep! Loved this interview! Erika Alexander is prolific and beautiful , always loved her. Thank you for this interview Breakfast Club❤️❤️❤️
She has been taken through the depths of life at an early age. She had no choice but to be deep. I agree with your statement 100%. This was an extremely enlightening interview. Erik Alexander was/is definitely a diamond in the ruff....
This is one of the best shows on The Breakfast Club! She has great calming energy, a wise spirit and noticeable integrity. I loved “Pam” then and love her even more now.
I'm really curious to know as to who these 300 plus people are that disliked this beautiful woman intelligence. So much truth and wisdom. She held my attention the entire interview🙏
I so don’t focus on the negativity of others; like her I’m dark skin and can relate to her in that aspect. However I have always and will always hold on to my faith. It’s not God who changes but humans who change and starts to do their own thing (in the name of Jesus) they become fake prophets. The struggle is real though.
I LOVE MAX!! This interview is a must see for all African Americans. Her wisdom and her knowledge is priceless. Her honesty is refreshing. She is very humble, open, and transparent; something that many celebrities are not because they fear losing money and support, but she is REAL!!
I agree but it may be too personal/painful to share on screen, especially considering the feelings of her mom and siblings. It might cause another riff amongst them. It seems they have been through quite enough.
She definitely should. Tbh I was terrified by that story she told of her grandmother being twisted up barking like a dog. Then the boyfriend named Red in the red Cadillac, then coming back in a box 😳😳
I know this is an old interview , however I am just seeing it and let me tell you I could literally listen to Erika Alexander speak all day. She has an amazing and beautiful mind not to mention her life story has so many peaks and valleys. its almost like she lived Love Craft Country.
Outstanding! Blown away. Culture, history, psychology, vision, culture, perspective. I loved the Maxine character, she was a black woman professional with natural hair... before her time. She reps well.
Yacky Snacky obviously you don't understand the conversation or what's going on in the world today because, if you did you wouldn't make those comments. And if you don't see anything wrong with what you said "read a book" exactly what they said read a book.
Muchas gracias you guys at the Breakfast Club Power. This is one of my favorite interviews ever, because I'll always be grateful for Erika Alexander being such a glorious force in this world. So much fun and wisdom flows so wonderfully from Erika and everyone during this interview. So empowering and very HEALING! Much love to you all.
WOW!!! What an AMAZING interview!!!! I’m so glad that I took the time to watch!! She’s such a beautiful soul!! I was so excited to see her on Run The World!!🙌🏾👑
The thing that impressed me the most is the way she spoke of people. Regardless of how they treated her, she didn’t speak ill of any of them. She is also so articulate. The religious vs spirituality part makes me sad, but it’s reality for so many.
Lawd I'm so glad I watched this interview!! Erika brought the truth on all levels! She cleansed my pallet from all the filth I've been watching. Thank you Breakfast club!
she's the type of creative mind that opens up new ideas and genres. passion, intelligence, common sense, and understanding of how the world evolves. beautiful sister
Yes these shows made black people see success is possible. I wanted to go to college because of A Different World and I wanted to have my own apartment and work because of Living Single!!
One of THE best interviews anywhere. This goes to show that you can do anything regardless of your circumstances. Her upbringing was tough and even her successful times were difficult but she is still pushing forward and being an inspiration for all of us. I admire her strength and intelligence. This was definitely a satisfying experience.
Great interview. She's truly a gem. It's good to see actors and actresses outside of their familiar characters and learn about their upbringing and behind the scene stories of the shows that they were once on. She's humble, poised, and intelligent. I'm glad she's being a mover and shaker behind the camera lens.
This interview is like going to a family reunion and finally getting to talk to the Aunt your mom said was crazy, but is actually mad dope! I always wondered why I didn’t see her in more things. Can’t wait to see what projects she’s bringing forth. Most definitely will support. 🎉🎊👍🏾
TheDuttyBerryShow It's RIDICULOUS how good she looks. I was, like, 11-years old, when she played, Cousin Pam on The Cosby Show. It's CRAZY how time has flown. It's a shame that she didn't get more acting roles. She's beloved, regardless.
+JCsTurn68 C Lol what is wrong with being with a white man? You have good men and shitty men, as long as she isn't with a shitty man it shouldn't matter.
Amazing interview! She is a breath of fresh air. So articulate, intelligent, and beautiful. We need to see and hear more from her. Her stories are captivating.
October 2021 ... This was more rewarding than watching a highly anticipated block buster movie. Her honesty, the way she articulated her words, snatched the full attention of the crew and i imagine every viewer of this video. The comments says it all. You are a very phenomenal and influential brilliant young Black Queen. I applaud your power to stand strong and strive to be Great. This indeed is a thought provoking, life changing, moment for me. Thank you. Love this interview
