He was born in 1953 in the neighborhood of (Edaga Hamous) in the capital Asmara. From his father (Abraha Asfaha), and his mother (Kedesti Teweldi Maden) . He knew the national action early in 1972 and joined the Popular Liberation Forces in 1972, In 1973 in order to join combat units in the northern coast, and in 1977 was appointed political supervisor of the one of the Brigades of the popular Army , and later he was promoted to be the head of the Transportation Department of the Office of the Economy, then as Director of the School of (Sawra) in which he liked education for the pupils. In 1990, he was the commandor of the invading forces in (Dankalia) and the deputy commander of Brigade. He It is said that he was courageous and says what he believes in without hesitation and this rare characteristic was enough to ffrighten the tyrant Afwerki. When Afewerki gave the port of Assab to the Government of Ethiopia for free use, without consulting the port administration, he objected to this behavior. He said that national wealth should not be subject to the mood of one individual, even if the president, in any case, found himself required to hand over the Ethiopian heritage to the property and military equipment left by the Ethiopian leadership in its defeat to Meles Zenawi. ! However, he said, “We have poured out the blood of our children and will not hand it over to them.” He also rejected Meles Zenawi’s proposal to pay the salaries of the employees and sought to solve the problem with the available means.
His mother was very ill and asked to meet with the Minister of Defense (Sabhat Afrim) but he apologized because her son was being detained by order of the President . She continued to fluctuate like other mothers on the fire of injustice and then died before she could see her son. His father died two years after his arrest, following sharp verbal exchanges with the president. This is how he now lives alone in a solitary cell where everyone has abandoned him. Even his wife and daughter left the country after the despair of his release .Some of the witnesses in his hiding place said that he is suffering from disorders and t he almost lost his mind. We must not forget those free people who have given up the flower of their youth until we have gained our independence. It is a shame to allow them to spend their families in the prisons of a country struggling for the dignity of its people
