In spite of his greatness, he was a simple and humble man. He treated everyone as though they were friends. He never forgot how he got to where he was, or those who helped him there.
Joe true fact!! Pretty amazing when I found that out myself. I remember on one of my birthdays he couldn't be there because he had to go visit vets at a VA hospital. Well a few years later I figured out how much more important that was that any birthday!! he loved his fellow veterans and I'm grateful for the man he taught me to be. God bless!!!
He did a bus tour across the country with her his son about eight years before he died. It is very good. It’s it’s on RU-vid now. He tells a lot of stories about him and other actors.

"There are millions of people over the world who would just ‘love to be into our shoes’ while adding that only a privileged few get the chance of working in the world of entertainment. Shows the man he was. He supported the small man. The US truck drivers, the people living in the small US hamlets. He saw the good in them.
Emperor of the north was filmed in my hometown. I looked high and low for a copy of it on the internet and I found one for $35 and it was worth every penny of it. RIP Ernest borgnine we miss you.
A great actor and a great man and every day I watch McHales Navy and roar with laughter. Every actor in that program were great but the greatest one was Ernest Borgnine. RIP Mr. Borgnine you were a great actor and a great human being.
Ernest Borgnine died at 95 years old. Wow that's a long lived life. I just watched him and Jr on a tour. And it was amazingly beautiful. He was a gentle man and a great actor. ❤
One of America’s greatest actors and a fine human being. His performances have stood the test of time and he well deserved all the accolades he received.
There is a Ernest borgnine bus channel on RU-vid. Do a search. It's great and the videos are of him on the road in his big travel bus meeting people and seeing places. Wonderful man
God bless that American actor. He was best known for voicing Mermaidman in a popular American cartoon, SpongeBob Squarepants by Nickelodeon, a subsidiary of ViacomCBS. That was a great age for him.
@@Cris_Borgnine I can imagine, looking up to that personality a great man & we all miss him to. just talk to him you already know what he will say back. He's always with you you can feel him at times or smell him he is letting you know he's with you. TAKE CARE
@@emme8255 he wore this certain cologne from Mexico that smelled of Orange blossoms sometimes I'll just get a whiff of it and just say Hi Pop's and smile...
@@Cris_Borgnine I remember watching him in they early 60's he had so much piss & vinegar in him, & i think he had that his whole life & very good life he had indeed. He now has his peace. Nice talking with you cris
Ernie's gone to the PT 73 boat in the sky. I loved watching McHale's Navy growing up in the early 60's. Tim Conway, Joe Flynn, and a cast of goofballs (Groober) kept me in stitches. Ernest was a classy guy from the old school, they don't make 'em like that anymore.
One of lifes greatest people, a real gentleman and a genuine person, no swearing and no nonsense man, all his movies portrayed his decency in life. One of of Hollywood's finest by far. God bless him in eternity. A great loss.
I know this reads counter-intuitive even ridiculous, but I've come to the conclusion that Mr. Ernest Borgnine was an extraordinary joe. A vet, a fine character actor and even finer ...guy who left people and places happier than when he found them. No small task i can tell you. The Discovery Chanel documentary of his travels across the Midwest with his son Cris on the famed Sunbum was fascinating as well as informative. His lust for life and joy of others are obvious here. He left such a large body of screen work, of which I'm appreciative, yet sorry i never met the gentleman in my 50+ years. Respect to his wife and family. A true journeyman actor and exemplary human. Rarely are the two mentioned in the same sentence which hopefully puts his loss in perspective.
A good man. He said his greatest accomplishment was serving in the Navy. And his words given to his colleagues is blessed. Thanks, Chief, you earned goodness in the Navy!
Another rare case living a. extreme unusual long life beside the fact his whole life way overweight and that without diabetes or other deseases in Ernest case so where is the long healthy life with Sport?????????
