Ernest Cockrell, BES '67, MBA '70, is the chairman of Cockrell Interests Inc., president and director of The Cockrell Foundation and a Houston native. The Cockrell Foundation donates generous funds for charitable organizations, particularly in the Houston area, that support education, health care and medical research, youth activities and cultural institutions. Portions of available funds each year are given to The University of Texas' Cockrell School of Engineering, which now carries the family name.
