@Brian Last the money is not a favor, son, they are paying the lads what they owe them for making all that money for them. That doesn't earn you a BBQ invite.
I’m going to be an old man some day telling my kids how there’s “no one like Ernie Johnson”. All basketball fans know that we need to appreciate the TNT InsideTheNBA crew while we have them.
EJ is a living legend. He has made post-game shows into an art and always make sure I tune into Inside the NBA after every game on tnt since I was like a teenager. I'm glad Stak and Matt giving him his flowers while he's still here he definitely deserves it he is most definitely a real one. Once again another great fellas.
Ernie is the type of mentor who I hope to be one day. Universally respected as a person, a man, and a professional due to a long history and large body of great and entertaining work. He's a real one and an OG.
As a young man & real NBA fan Ive been hearing this voice my whole life & its nostalgia at this point..COMFORT is the best word to describe it..Huge respect for EJ..Love listening to his infinite legendary stories!!!
And a true gentleman too. Ernie has never talked down any player to do his job, unlike some other dudes we all know. One of the last true respectful media members we have, truly a dying breed
This was by far my favourite All The Smoke Episode, to be able to just listen to Ernies story and have Matt and Jack just sit and admire this man truly displays just how popular Ernie is within the NBA industry
Of all the things Ernie is famous for, I find the fact he calls people (like John the example he gave) to help them with their cancer the most respectable thing about him. It's small things like that which show you the true character of someone. As big as EJ is, as successful as he is, the fact he will give time because he believes he has a responsibility to help randoms with their cancer, it is so humbling and admirable to hear it. A true role model. Thank you EJ for sharing that.
And respectful too. He has never needed to talk down on any player to do his job, unlike some other dudes we all know. A true gentleman and one of the last true respectful media members we have
Ernie is just so dope... i had a permanent smile throughout the whole thing. You can just listen to him talk for long because there are positive lessons in his experience and what he talks about.
Man that was a “great” interview guys. Ernie is awesome, but as human and father I am blown away. Everyone needs a “ Ernie” in their life, because I shedding tears talking about his father, his wife and family I am so speechless. An to handle those big personalities on his show is crazy respect 🙌🏻. Definitely this show made my day and as mentioned we need more “Ernie Johnson’s” in our life and world. 😢☺️
I think i respect EJ for adopting for kids and changing their lives forever more than anything else he has done. Thats saying a lot when talking about him. Great man.
So many great nuggets of wisdom he dropped in this interview. “There’s value in everyone “ is one I will hold on to for life. Thanks for a great episode guys.
Damn Ernie got me in tears…my mother was diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma a few years back…I had 2 young daughters at the time…I’m actually the one who shaved her head when the chemo was making her hair fall out….thankfully she’s been in remission for about 3 years now but it was definitely a rough time…but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel
I have watched and loved every show Matt And Jack have done but Ernie's episode was the best one ever, I mean I can't think of the last time I actually shed a tear, I mean I know I have a big heart n I'm very respectful and a good person but when I get older and I'm getting close to checking out of this body I can just hope I had just a tiny piece of that dudes heart. That was a great interview and all the emotions were felt in this one and Matt and Jack are definitely on their way to being legendary interviewers I mean I always have loved this show and they have always delivered but this episode you can tell they are on the next level of the interviewing game. I never comment on anything on RU-vid or ai haven't ever but I had to get that off my chest. Matt and Jack ya'll are the real deal and have always been the real deal cuz real recognize real n this world needs more of this. Ya'll keep on doing tha damn thang n ya'll deserve your Flowers to, love yall man
His camera presence and voice projection is crazy good. Most people don't come off that professional during interviews, even other veterans in the film industry
I’ve watched most of the all the smoke interviews, this has to be one of the best all time. For basketball fans, this is so intriguing like listening to your father or grandfather tell their stories. Such a beautiful mind mixed with such an outgoing, expressionate, and intuitive tone. All while being able to understand everyone he talks to wether they’re old, young, black, white, any race, male or female. Such an outstanding character all around, cherish him while we have him for real
Fam, y’all gotta but the pictures in the background when the guests tell their stories, that’ll set it off! Instead of the “all the smoke” background for the entire show, when guests have these flashbacks it’ll be 🔥 to show old photos
Nice suggestion though I might add that if they do it constantly they must not put focus on the pictures and talk about them for a long time since All the Smoke is also a podcast and people tuning in might not connect on parts where they comment on photos but it's perfect for RU-vid though!
No words can describe how incredible Ernie is. Don’t think there is anyone in the public media that just seems so genuine. He is who he is, and that’s why everyone loves/respect him. Great interview, just found the channel, love your work.
If we thought Ernie was the man before listening to this in it's entirety....there's NO CHANCE you don't walk away from this thinking that we're blessed to hear him on the tv. The man is the ultimate, as far as what TYPE OF PERSON we should strive to emulate. Respeck to Jack & Matt for bringing the legend on.
Ernie was in the loop before Rose played one game @ Simeon H.S. Ernie's a got over 30 years of Nba/ MLB wisdom. With that being said I would luv to hear about the rise ,and fall and comeback from multiple injuries, that is D Rose youngest MVP story.
Ernie is just a great fucking guy. Good at his job, funny and you can tell he's real, no bullshit. If you don't like Ernie Johnson then you're the problem. World needs more people like him
