Bravo, Tao, great collaboration with the quartet - this music should be played more often

Brahms was a ferocious judge of other composers' work. This piece, however, blew him off his chair. He not only praised it to the sky, but organized performances of it, playing the piano part himself. Unfortunately Dohnanyi, like Elgar and others fell victims to the forces of "modernity." Elgar fell silent while Dohnanyi tried to accommodate his music to it - aborting the last green, healthy shoot from the European root that should have produced another towering tree.

Bravo! Love this piece and had the opportunity to play it in Brazil.
