The golfers ARE NOT responsible for paying for damages unless it can be demonstrated to be the result of an intentional act. The home owner made the choice to live on a golf course, it is on the homeowner to either move or continue paying.
Pretty easy to solve. Nets, tee box alignment, handicap tee boxes and most important, teach these hackers how to golf. These golfers are really bad. To be hitting windows and the house siding, you must be a triple digit handicap or a fat drunk that folds your left elbow on the downswing. Some golf courses I play sell no liquor and the golfers are good. Others push the sale of beer and will have a beverage cart driving by you every three holes.
errant shots are a part of the game, even the pros from time to time WILL hit an errant shot, as long as you do not intentionally aim your shot at someone's house you are not responsible for the damages, that's why there are insurance plans that cover damages from errant golf balls
Ours gets hit often and there’s absolutely no reason for it. They have to hit far over other houses to get to ours. This includes vehicle windows as well. It’s gotten really bad. Especially when there are high school golf teams who play on certain days. Covid 2020 was the worst when the course was flooded with newbies who spent the days drinking and had little gold experience. Also, if you’re one who literally loses your ball and can’t easily find it from it going so far random, your game should be done.
The course makes a profit from the players. They set up the course in relation to the homes knowing the risk. They should insure the homes along the perimeter.
Only if the course is built after the homes are they liable. By choosing to build the course near homes, they assume the risk. However, if the inverse is true, then the homeowners assume the liability. Only if the golfer purposefully aims at the house are they responsible.
