Yup. Shame it's often not the best song that goes through, though; Jone should have won this year. His song is super catchy, has a nice Norwegian folk element - and it's in Norwegian. We still need more entries proudly singing in their own language.
@@Kottkumgen Norway's come last 11 times, but also has 11 top-five finishes. It averages out okay now. And Eurovision is taken more and more seriously again after a lull around the Millennium, with some rather big national stars wanting to take part. It's a shame the best songs don't always win the national selections, but I guess that happens in all countries with selections and it's just how it has to be when they are selected fairly.

Yes, Jann is kinda the straight and dark version of Agoney, both have an incredible stsge presence and costumes. Maybe they'll come back. Plus there's also the 2nd Chance contest.
Btw losing to an RTVE employee is corruption as well, and someone winning due to anti gay votes is also highly questionable. Even though it worked out well in Poland's case, because she could ultimately improve vocally (and even if she couldn't, it would have been half as bad, because then we wouldn't have to hear her in the final), I'm asking myself, what's up with women named Blanka/Blanca and winning national finals. Those are the 2 national selection decisions that are being bemoaned the most by people.

Yeah, what's up with women named Blanka/Blanca winning national finals? Definitely the 2 most controversial picks here. I mean, Solo was at least a much better song than Ea Ea, plus she was able to improve in Liverpool, so picking her didn't turn out to be the wrong decision after all. But based on her performance in the nf, everyone was asking how this won. Not after seeing her semi-final performance, though. But everyone was asking why Spain ended up sending this crap and were asking who thought it was a good idea to send this song. It totally flopped and probably only won its nf because of anti lgtbqia votes from both the juries and the public. But people might have also voted for Ea Ea, because they were afraid of Quiero Arder winning Eurovision. And literally no one liked this song, everyone said their ears were bleeding when hearing this. Seeing Agoney would have been an iconic moment and he would have reached Top 5, or at least Top 10. Instead, Eurovision viewers had to endure Ea Ea
Definitely. This could have reached the Top 10, and I also think that Blanca only won because of anti Agoney votes. And an anti Agoney jury. Maybe he will come back with something better, just like Conchita did.
Elodie is always robbed (probably because she doesn't have a compact fanbase to vote her, unlike other singers that have a bunch of teenagers or old people as fans) but Madame arrived 7th in 2021 although she wasn't that famous at all, except for some young people. This year there was a controversy that maybe penalised her, but I think that if she wants to she could win one year. I mean, Mahmood's win in 2019 was totally unexpected for literally everyone: the first rap/r&b song to ever win Sanremo, and he was totally unknown.
Sanremo, MGP, Benidorm Fest and UMK were like the Fantastic Four of NF season this year... so many amazing songs (also, thank you for including the intercontinental tri-lingual diva on the rise, miss Ella A, I feel so proud of her, as a fellow Brazilian)

Personnaly I was so sad to lost Jann( and i will still say it he is better than Blanka idk), Elsie Bay( extremely sad😢😢), Jery Heil, Søren from Drnmark cuz he had an amazing and sweet voice, Meelek from Estonia cuz i kinda liked their retro vibe. Stilk don't know why Karmento has gone in national final than Flamenco( it is way better)
Keira’s performance looked amazing on TV but I was in the dress rehearsal and I have to say it was pretty boring for the live audience. She had a big stage and used like 20% of it. Either way she was one of my favourites with Kuumaa and Käärijä :)
And her 5 points from the public underline it as well. Most of these artists would have gotten more points than her. And only 3 points from Portugal, even Manel Navarro got 5 from them. Worst nf decision of 23. Also, Ea Ea is the lowest rated BF finalist on Eurovision World, where almost every non qualifier was rated higher as well. And the least downloaded BF final song on Spotify, despite being exposed to many more people than the other ones. Wrong decision, Agoney and Megara definitely would have landed on the left side of the scoreboard, if not even in the Top 10
ulrikke was supposed to perform in 2020, there was a whole scandal because of some voting difficulties, so she was mainly voted for by a jury i'd say that a good percentage of us found her very annoying, she has a good voice though
