Great video thank you for taking the time to share it it is a difficult job in a very tight space if you're a big guy. It seems the problem may have been that cartridge 3G0743A thank you for giving me a great idea on how to get that part out without wrecking the entire base. Looks like you lost a lot of blood on that job, lol!
Buddy very helpful and to realize you did the whole video repair with ONE HAND, while filming with your right. 10 stars for you. My problem is on an 06 cadi srx a heavy person pushed themselves back in the seat and broke something in the bottom rear of the seat. Motors work but bottom seat height does not adjust in the back. What could that be? A simple broken bolt, off the track or what? I bought the car from my sister and need a cheap fix? Any suggestions? I'm left handed too lol.
I had to repair replace the motor cartridges and simply removed the bottom seat cover and foam pad and was able to do the entire job from the topside without taking the whole seat out. I was much easier than I thought possible.
I replaced the motors in my Tahoe seats. Same design as yours and A LOT less work. Getting those little square rods back in we’re tricky but doable. Good job though and thanks for posting.
My 2000 Yukon XL (244,000 miles ? ) has Both Front Seats - Not Working at All... The Switches on the Sides Don't seem to Have Any Power... I roughly Checked all of the fuses in both Locations, even Replaced each Fuse , one at a time with Newer fuses...Still No Movement of the Seats. The Driver Seat is a Little too close to the Dash... For My Comfort... I really Don't Know Where to Start. Maybe a Seat Relay is Burned Out..? Or No Power going to the Seats..? The Manual Lumbar adjusters , and the Manual Tilts ( Backward / Forward work Fine... ). I just Need to get the Switches to move them back / Forth on the Track's, but they seem completely Dead... Where do I Start...? I suppose I am Capable of jumping 12 volts under the seat(s)... To Check for any Possible Movement... I bought the SUV In this Condition... That's why I'm Not Familiar with the Working History of the Seats... I don't know if Something might have Bound up, or overheated a part of the Seat System , ( something May Be Shorted Out... Or a breakage in the wiring...) ANY SUGGESTIONS...? BillinL.A. 11-06-2021.
If you had to do this all over again, would you just try to find a good seat in great condition? Asking because my wife pushed passenger seat all the way forward, not knowing it was going to die, and it did. 2008 black Escalade. Looks like you had a lot of bruises and cuts as a result. I wrench on my stuff all the time, but I prefer when it’s giving me more HP or boost…lol. Thanks for sharing!
I explored that option and didn’t want to take a risk of me buying a used seat and then it going out on me again. I think if you are fully aware that you are buying a seat out of a vehicle that has maybe 50,000 miles you should be ok. But I have experienced that seats after about 130,000 miles they will start acting up.
@@wills69charger1 thank you for your honest opinion! I just started looking, and see there’s not many options for complete seats, unless you want to spring for newer years, and those probably don’t plug up the same way due to harness changes. Thanks again for such an informative video.
Bro you did all that f around. spent all that money, still got a old worn out looking seat lmao , why didn't you go buy a seat second hand that's like brand new and throw it in there, that seemed crazy like its your'e first time
I'm giving you a like for the horror you endured. ll thzt power this and that I have no idea how you got it back together. I had to stop watching about half way in which is about where I would have set my camera up on a tripod and taken a 10lb sledge to the whole show.
Have a 2006 Cadillac Escalade with front right power seats not working at all. Tried disconnecting battery (36hours twice) and reconnecting to no avail. I was told I will likely need to replace both motors. However, the seat will need to be removed and somehow the airbags signs may come on which will require reprogramming. Is any of this true???
