I'll be honest. Escanor is the only reason why I even started sds and went through it.

"Now, before I accidentally defeat the Demon King." Escanor was the definition of being a chad.

"Yours is a lonely love, The finest wine to inebriate the heart. But I cannot be the chalice that will hold you. O' God, I pray that another chalice shall appear that can embrace that love." And that bastard claimed his poetry wasn't good.

From the moment he stepped onto the screen. He carried that anime like a BOSS. Every fight he was in made the list for best fight scene for this anime😂😂😂

Ironically enough, at his most powerful moment, he was also the most humble he could possibly be.

Actually I think Escanor was the most interesting Character, the epic moments, the fact he used to be the most powerful beeing but this 'borrowed' power is slowly killing him. All the tragedy in his life but then this unbreakable pride, yet arrogance in the Lion. Really well written Character!

The sin of pride has never loses to anyone. Even in death, it’s by his own power.

Escanor at the end was the real hero. There is nothing more honorable than laying down your life for those that you love. A Chad, and a real man. Although I wish he didn't die, it was truly a fitting end to the strongest man. Rest in peace escanor, lion sin of pride. You occupy more than just a corner of Merlin's heart

Sure Escanor finale is great but for me his bravery of fighting against that demon spawn shows the greatest side of Escanor. Even at his weakest he is brave, loyal, and uphold his pride as knight and member of the 7 deadly sins even as human with power rating below baby. I don't think Escanor can't be much more Gigachad when he's on steroid but I was wrong, he's even more Gigachad at his weakest

Those who praise the sun are actually praising lord Escanor.

This marks the finest end of any character in any form of art I've ever seen, Escanors death was as profoundly paradoxical as the nature of his character. A walking contradiction, the weakest yet strongest Sin, lived a death rich with pride and timidity, shaped by his life's journey. His final sacrifice was an ode to love and friendship, yet in those final moments and for the first time in his life, the conflicts that stem from his contradictory nature dissolved into perfect harmony, he was no longer a feeble humble man nor the arrogantly indestructible Sin Of Pride, he was but much more than that. In his final farewell speech his aura of pride never abandoned him, yet his title of Sin did, for the reasons he was proud could never be sinful. His latest act and transparent heartfelt words lead to the embodying of humility, he became the pinnacle of what any man could aspire to be at life's end and felt an enormous pride for the life he was leaving behind. A death that made him whole, the personification of proud humility, a striking paradox. In the end, nobody could kill Escanor, but Escanor himself, so pretentious, yet humbling, perhaps in and on itself a paradox. He will be forever missed as one of the best fictional characters ever conceived in human history.

ik this was a year ago but escanor what was said to merlin will forever linger in my heart. This man chose to burn himself alive just to see his friend live and continue to remember him so that he as a person will never die. Think of a happy ending! Ban finally gets to spend his life with elaine stealing the one thing that ended up stealing his heart instead. Meliodas and Elizabeth finally get to spend the time that was lost over thousands of years finally having kids to tell the story about the lion sin of pride escanor. Diane and King are out traveling the world together happily married enjoying the sites they see. Gowther studying more about dreams and understanding them to the fine point. Finally, merlin looking for the way to possibly bring back the only man that truly loved her.

Escanor was the single best thing of Nanatsu, and the only thing that was worth watching of the show/manga. Its a real shame that not only he died, but Merlin after his heroic sacrifice, says that she always loved Meliodas... man, fuck that.

Escanor was the main reason i ever watched 7ds. He's the only human ever in history to say that he defeated Estarossa, Meliodas, and Zeldris, greanted Mael was Estarossa but no knew at the time, but Escanor still has that credit to his name. He was and still is my favorite character in all of 7ds, and i had to watch him die in the last season, that was the second time i ever cried for a character on a show, the first time i cried over a character in a show was Dean Winchester from Supernatural. Escanor already knew that Merlin loved captain and also knew that she tried to kill Elizabeth multiple times but didn't tell anyone about that.

Escanor went out fighting for his friends and his unrequited love, in the end he got to say goodbye and was gifted if even for a moment the bittersweet love of his beloved and he cried a single tear knowing he could not be the man that could be there to share that love with her forever

One of the best best and most waited scene from whole series but they did not make it as good as season 1 animation

Escanor is, was and always will be the strongest being in all existance. Sunshine didn't make him strong, he always had that strength within him Sunshine was always a tool but never what truly made him strong. RIP Escanor PRAISE THE SUN!!!

I'd rather have Escanor than have Meliodas.

I don't know if this was a correct interpretation, but it is obvious that Arthur and Merlin are not in a romantic relationship, which Escanor incorrectly assumed. He cried when Merlin said that he was the only man to ever love her. Idk if I even made a correct assumption based on the scene but that was one that I came to the conclusion of.

Can't image if S4 animations created by the same studio who made Season 1 and 2.. What a godlike battle animation between the ultimate one vs demon king.

Man this could have gone down as one of the best anime fights ever…. But they rushed it and did horrible.

escanor was the whole reason i started seven deadly sins. him vs galand in the manga animated by zacky san was what drew me into the series. I even made fan art out of him and made a custom phone cover out of him. This was the most heart broken i was many years back but looking back at it, He was the greatest and most well written character i have ever seen. praise the fucking sun!! 🌞

Escanor, The Lion Sin Of Pride will be our son. For he shines brighter for others than for himself. We can only hope that the next generation will remember Escanor, the man who defied a God for his friends

Escanor give a nice beating to demon king meanwhile mael from four archangel saying he can't fight because he can't defeat demon king. They showed escanor so powerful and great then showed him very poor fellow in the end. Such a shame i started this anime because of escanor it was just like a weird prince and princess fairy tail

This is probably one of my favorite anime characters of all time like top 3 and I had no idea he died I thought I had seen all of the episodes how did I miss the fact that he died this absolutely blows. This is as bad as naruto losing kurama and then sasuke losing rennigan immediately after. There are so many deaths in anime but to have him be one will forever suck

When I finally saw this animated after waiting for what felt an eternity, it felt so bitter sweet. It played out how I saw it animated in my mind.
