In my opinion you can’t go wrong with PLCE . The new MTP Osprey pouches aren’t as big. You got a nice set up there. 👍

I 100% agree, Lass.. I have the same set of British PLCE I got in 2014 and it will probably be the grab and go rig if/when the day comes. I recently got some Czechian PLCE type mag pouches so I can use it with my AK...

Great rig and just what I'm coming to expect from you son. PLCE never gets old. Nice hack on the tape but you don't need it, simply put the longer tab through the closure it's designed for that. The short tab is just for quick deployment in an immediate combat situation. Kind regards 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧

Thanks mate. I appreciate your words! . I don't do the tab pull through as you described. It can bust the part where I put tape, especially in the cold up here so I started doing that. I busted one and that was all it took for me to never do it again. I cant easily replace pouches so I had to find an alternative method.. Stay tuned. Green season is here. I was snowed in all winter and Im made about that! I got make up to do!

@@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska sorry mate, wasn't trying to be smart it's just how we were told to do it when we swapped from '58 pattern to PLCE a million years ago lol. Interesting to see how different climates affect it especially when it's at least 20 years old now. DPM is a great camo pattern and it's good to see a new generation in an allied country appreciating it. Loving your work, please keep it up. I like the survival emphasis rather than combat and how you appreciate the difference as many do not. Thanks

As well to you-please keep posting like your posting and Ill keep up my end! You have a great weekend If I dont see you around here again soon!

Thanks for the reminder. A fighter is not a survivalist, and a survivalist is not a fighter. Mission determines gear. Most people will need more food and water than ammunition, More water tabs than they will bullets. Of course the amount changes with situation and AO, but the fact remains that Fighters and Survivalists are not the same.
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska Год назад

the spanish buckles on plce pouches can be locked, by feeding the loose tab through the loop before closing them,
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska Год назад
I had someone else recommend that method years ago. The first one I tried broke the anchor on the pouch that was meant for the lid tab on the first try w/ no effort at all. It was too much to fit inside. I'm sure ppl do it often w/o issues but i cant go and buy another PLCE pouch and nor will i have that option in the wilderness when the hammer drops.. So the tape works w/o much pressure at all on the tab anchor..

Yeah I ran into this problem early on when using PLCE. Someone told me the trick of folding the pull tab inot the locking apparatus to secure it but it busted the buckel on the first try and I never used it again. I still needed a way to secure it and the tape was the best deal at the time. Never changed it..

They are great canteens. My only problem with them is they take a separate gasket inside the cap to seal the lid from leaking. Not very practical but mine are going on over 13 years in service with me and no issues..

I would love to find a full plce belt kit in near mint shape. Never seen one at any A/N store, or market place, nothing. Just online stores. I still use Alice , and love it, I just know the plce is more comfortable from what I've heard. I could probably sell my 3 complete NOS lbv-88e's with buttpacks etc and have enough for a full plce lol. That would be fine with me too, the lbv-88e is super hot compared to good old Alice.
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska Год назад
I used the 88 version back in the day. It was hot and it wasnt very comfortable at all... PLCE hits the US market a few times a year. Sportsmans Guide and keep shooting usually carry them when they do..

I once thought about recommending Ivarr do the Grunt Proof SERE challenge, then I realized it'd be a pretty boring show, as no one would ever see him. 😂 Those dudes kinda suck anyway. Thanks for your time and work, man!

👍👍👍👍👍👍 Thanks for that. I tried very hard to get into Grunt Proof but I couldn't do it. Ive seen WAY WAY WAY too much of real survival to subscribe to scrips and rules. Its simply doesn't exist out there. This is why I told the Discovery channel two times a big FAT NO when they wanted do give me my own show.. What a great reply.. Thanks you mate!

Great well vetted kit. Has anything changed since 2015 (I read the comments)? I am surprised there isn't a bit of food in there to fuel the machine if things really got spicy and you had to dump your ruck and run. Nate

Its a rule Ive learned to use with great results.. The Glock knife is more of a luxury item that is a fast in and out knife and VERY useful on the move.. The rest are simple work knives. Maybe ill make a vid about the three knife rule i use.. I should check- I may have already. HAHA..

Nice rig, I love the PLCE. I would just add a compression bandage and a pack of hemostatic gauze somewhere for a survival rig. Questions: is there a reason for three knives? I understand a large and a small one, but why the third? Also, I see you carry a pistol. I see it's popular these days to shit on carrying a pistol along with the rifle, though I prefer to carry a pistol also. What are your thoughts on that?
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska
@Howling.Wilderness.Alaska Год назад
First, thank you for asking these questions and not throwing them like an uptight a-hole.. but to the pistol question-Really? LOL Ive not heard that. This is why I do not listen to other channels much at all.. TOOOOOOOOOOOO much emulation and bullshyt w/o consideration of personal needs/situations. Ive never not taken a sidearm (save one time this past Oct when my dad was dyeing and I simply forgot to put my MAK in my smock before stepping off because my mind was elsewhere). I think its stupid and dysfunctional not to take a backup/side arm. Especially alone.. As to the knives, Its a rule Ive learned to use with great results.. The Glock knife is more of a luxury item that is a fast in and out knife and VERY useful on the move.. The rest are simple work knives. Maybe ill make a vid about the three knife rule i use..
