1)Sell a $150 version " limited edition" of your alpha demo, tell everyone they get all updates for free forever to get them to buy it. 2)never stop selling it, and drag development on for over a decade 3)reach market saturation because you refuse to sell your game on popular storefronts. 4)Panic becuse you can no longer monetise your game, attempt to half-heartedly spin it off into an arena shooter but fail miserably because of laziness. 5)Here we are.

The thing is, it is more than $250 due to tax. It is more like $300. I did buy the EOD Edition back in 2016, but the conversion rate bugged (it showed the £ being worth way more than it actually was) and I got it for $63. I have something like 3,000 hours on EFT, so I got my $60 worth, but I never did get my in-game alpha armband despite playing the alpha a whole year before the game went into closed beta. I tried contacting support about it, but they told me to stop wasting their time. If you didn't get the alpha armband, it means you didn't buy the game by 2017. I sent them a screenshot of my receipt for the game that says I purchased it on June 1st, 2016. They immediately closed my ticket and blacklisted my email 😂🤣💀

Cash grabbing in my Unreleased Beta game btw. Game began to die when their response to hatchet runners was to have the AI run across the map just to mow them down. Their decisions have always been unreasonable and never worked in the long run. Them removing the verbiage that EOD would receive future DLC is criminal and they should be prosecuted for it.

I want to play tarkov with only bots, but I will never pay 250 fucking dollars for it.

You know what's crazy? They could've just took that co-op version with saved progression, slapped a $45 price tag on it, add some bonuses to bump it up for $60 and people would've ate it up. They could've done *anything else* and it would've been better.

Just remember, This is $415 in Australia that $250 pack. They know what they can do with that $415 pack.

It's more than $250, because they don't include taxes in the display price, but you can't see the final price unless you create an account on their site. So everyone says that it's $250, when it's actually more like $300-350 after taxes, depending on your region. Same for the upgrade from Edge of Darkness edition, it's not just $100 but more like $125-150.

I love how their stated reason for PVE is that it'll take server space. Literally just have the inventories be the only server side thing boom done. Peer to Peer would probably be an upgrade to their servers for combat anyways.

What a shame, glad I gave up on Tarkov a few years ago and I bought the eod in 2017 and have well over 8k hours on the game. Charging for features like the distress beacon that we’re talked about being in game since 2016 is fucking ridiculous

Slight correction, the SPT ( Single Plater Tarkov ) mod is single player only, there is no coop. You connect to a virtual server on your own machine that you have to start first in order to be able to play. You are risking nothing with it, ( Klean literally plays it on twitch lol ) its in a whole separate folder and you must have the original game for it to work. It needs an installed LIVE version but it copies it over to a different folder ( drive if you want ) therefore does not modify anything in your live forlder.

I am so glad you made this video. Literally just yesterday I was thinking about Tarkov. I stopped playing a few years back. Right before Lighthouse came out. I think a big part of it was that I started playing with some friends, and they were taking it really seriously. We started building the bases and going for high ticket items and missions. But I kind of just liked having fun with the game. Before I got them into it, I wasn't rich, but I was loving it. Then streamers were beating the entire thing in a weak, so they started raising the requirements for everything, and I felt like I was no longer making progress. And they kept talking about the new map, but weren't releasing it because we needed vest #294. And just a whole list of things I was getting tired of But I thought maybe I could have some fun with it again. See what's up... Now I've lost interest. Meanwhile, I've played quite a bit of Arena Breakout on my phone. It did feel like just the mobile Tarkov. So if they can make a good PC version, I'm down for supporting them.

looks like a class action lawsuit is in BSGs future. You cant say you get access to all future dlc after paying $150 and then make a new edition just to not give away that DLC to people that paid that much money.

You’re not risking a ban by playing SPT. It’s just a simple matter of keeping your SPT files separate from your EFT files.

SPT has been a great time. There’s some talented people over there just… making things. As an EOD owner who hasn’t played LIVE seriously in a while it still feels like a slap in the face & I am glad to have been playing SPT for so long & enjoying a different experience.

Scary thing is people will pay the 250 dollars for it, I also bet alot of the main RU-vidrs) streamers who are complaining about this update will also pay it. They should just make a offline version no extra features, just offline with no wipe for like £20

People forget this game was not supposed to be an extraction shooter. It was supposed to eventually be open world.

I feel like this is an exit strategy. They're going to rake in as much as possible before they shut it all down. They've been consistent about not adding PVE, and now suddenly they are releasing it for 250$? Sketch af.

Single player/Coop PVE should be a basic feature for everyone, not a DLC or a feature for an incredibly expensive edition. This is so asinine and greedy on Battlestate behalf to lock such a simple thing behind a huge paywall.

Wait a minute… The trailer said “play offline with your friends”. Wasnt one of their supposed major price justifications the fact that you still had to play online on their servers? So is it false advertising or were they lying about it still needing to be online on their servers?

As one of the people who participated in ABM's (Arena Breakout Mobile) closed beta test, I honestly love the game (other than some performance issues that are still there, but at this point I'm blaming my phone, lol). I'm glad it's coming to Steam.

I find it very strange that an offline PVE mode is not just part of the main base game. You should not have to spend 150 (or 250!) dollars to be able to get a coop/offline PVE mode in this Beta. Doesn't make any sense.

One small addition. It wasn't just arena, but the Raid miniseries and Chronicles of ryzhy miniseries that probably lost them some major cash as well. I can't imagine that those were cheap to make. And it was a problem I noticed with BSG back when they added in arm stamina 3-4 back. They're sinking money in to things that isn't the development of tarkov proper. and recently before this fumble, They dropped the open world aspect that they'd been promising for years. Wasn't news to me but I know some people were caught of guard with that one.

Funniest thing i just learned. The unheard unique melee weapon... IS A FUCKING ASSET FROM THE STORE.....i mean the memes are writing itself. Don't know where i saw it, but i laughed so fucking hard when i saw it. Did not confirm it myself, but if it is true DUDE. I loved this game back in the day. I waited for the modular armor. And now they fucked it all, so sad to see.

When I purchased eod about 3 years ago, tarkov was already around for a while. Yes the future dlcs were one of the selling points among with the rest of it. I've gotten my money's worth out of a 150, for 3 years. Since they've expanded their studio, hired more people and have rolled out some quality updates since then, I can understand this extra 100 for me to upgrade and I would pay it since there isn't anything like tarkov on the market at the moment. They have their own expenses and they must try and survive in the market to keep developing. No indie company would be able to hire a bunch of people to work towards their goals and hope to fun this without some ways to bring in some more money.

something you forgot to mention the part were landmark was talking about the ''unique'' part of the text they also changed the wording of the DLC part Free access to all subsequent DLC (Season pass) and it USED to be Free access to all subsequent DLC (Season pass) SUCH AS EFT ARENA. this change from what i can tell means that if you buy the 250$ pack you dont even get access to arena (which is a bad game but still)

Just to clarify something from the beginning, the SPT mod never had co-op. It was singleplayer only, no ability to play with friends.

I have EOD, stopped playing for the longest time cause of bugs initially, then the insanity of the hackers that are in literally every match. I haven't thought of the game in about a year and even still I feel like I've been spit on. Lmao.
