TJKV, Yes, very possible to do considering using two zip ties actually makes escaping easier. Some think that because there's two of something it's twice as hard, not true. You have more flexibility to shim, friction saw, etc.. when you're in dual zip ties. Thanks for the comment!
VERY cool! And a really big thanx for not leaving us hanging. The first thing I said was, "How do you get the other one off?" I will never be afraid of zip ties again. ITStactical rocks!
hey man great video - seems to me you could use the process you did to get out it off the single hand at the end of the video the same way for both - if you are not very strong, or a girl for instance.
Thank-you for the info. Just to add to it - - - if you are zipped tie from behind do the same thing. Line up the head of the ties, raise your arms up and as high as they can go then bring them down against your hips/butt very hard and fast. One of them will break just as it did in the front. You may have to do this several times if you are not practiced at doing this.
I have seen this technique many times using regular zip ties, but never on real cuff ties! Have you guys at ITS Tactical tried it with "Cuff ties" yet?
What about the style that SWAT etc. uses? Its basically two zipties back to back, but connected. So you have two tag ends, and two seperate locking mechanisms. It might be amusing to watch videos with those as well, if you can get your hands on some that is.
what about from the back>? if it does not work the skin is going to be stripped off your wrist.. there are many zip tie designs, how would you know if it should work- or are you just going to be wrist-bleeding for a year after trying ?
Well, like one of the top comments said, it seems to be much quicker just to break them, but also what if the person who tied you cut the ends down for them to be shorter? And, I think it'd be hard to do that when both hands are tied tightly together because you would be turning your hands on an awkward angle.
Hypothetically you could move your wrists as close to your butt as possible, and pull one leg through at a time, or you could practice jumping over your arms, the trick to that is you have to pull our legs as close to your chest as possible during your jump, and my friend says that's harder. I'd suggest practising either before attempting though
Thanks for the information. As a woman I appreciate it. As a dental hygienist watching you use your front teeth to tighten them makes me envision broken front teeth!
A question, couldn't you injure yourself doing this, in particular, could you break or hurt your rib or ribs? I ask because I have a cracked rib at the moment (NOT from doing this by the way!) and it would seriously hurt like hell if I had to do this now, my ribs are subceptible to cracking easily, unfortunately.
It didn't look like it took that much force, but even if it did, wouldn't it be worth a broken rib to get out of any situation where you're in that position?
Not if you're restrained by yourself. Shimming is nearly impossible to do to your own restraints. However, once you have a single hand free, you'll want to get the other zip tie off, and that's what he's showing.
Cool Video but this video is the same as the first one ine the break out sense what i would like to see is how to break from the real zip tie set-up which is a Total of three zip tie 1 for each hand and the one connecting them that is usually the way anyone would have it set up for ease of restraingin someone without having to fidget around trying to get them on set up like Handcuffs please
what i don't understand is if you are able to do that move at the end of the video in loosening the one zip tie why do you go through the trouble of breaking them first? why not just loosen them to begin with at be done?
It won't work on stainless steel handcuffs either, doesn't mean its not a life-saving technique if some dirt bags use Home Depot zip ties to restrain you.
i saw your video about shimming out of zip ties but if u used the end to shim out on this vid why not just use the end of it instead of the actual shimming tool on ur other vid?!
Youre videos are quite nice, but I don't think this methode will work on real FlexiCuffs instead of cable ties. I don't know the situation in the USA, but in europe the zip ties used by police officers are avaible to the public.
That is a nifty little trick? However, placing someone in restraints is easy. Keeping them there is another story. Anyone who really knows anything about keeping you in restraints, is not going to place you in those restraints, with your hands in front. They would also know that zip ties are a temporary restraint method, as are mechanicals, and they would not allow any captive the opportunity, to make any such an escape. Lets see you try that with your hands behind you.
he's not saying that it's for escaping law enforcement, he means putting them on like the police do since most professional criminals do it the same way.
Well, the way I was looking at it, it seemed it COULD POSSIBLY, injure some ribs, right now any hit in that general area hurts like hell though. Thanks for the info, I will practice it, the RIGHT way like you describe. Just, uh, not right now! Thanks, this info is great. Sincerly, rugercat45
@ITStactical What exactly is the point of this then? Are you trying to help all those poor people who accidentally zip tie themselves in front of a camera?
1:15 as soon as he is going to demonstrate how to do it the video starts loading...I scroll down to the comments and it stops loading then I have to go back because I missed it. -_-
