Quick review of my ESEE 3 knife. I have owned this knife for quite a few years now and it has held up nicely. In my opinion this is a great EDC or Bushcraft knife. Some info on here about scout carry and how I use the Blade-Tech Tek-Lok with this knife.
I mentioned in the video that the handle scales are G10, they are not. The scales are Canvas Micarta.

Beautiful, I bought the Esee 3 because of a few videos like this but I've barely used it, I removed the clip, cut a piece from a leather belt, folded it over on itself to make a loop, attached with supplied screws and she's perfect for scout carry or front horizontal carry.

You have a knack for creating amazing cinamatography (scene setting, colour, texture, background, etc.) and creating instant anticipation, which really makes your channel head and shoulders above so many others and keeps me coming back to enjoy more of your great content! Setting up that knife beside the set and ready to go vintage Victor No. 0 (I believe or is it a No. 1?) leghold trap had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering when you were going to touch the pan of the trap with the blade of that knife and spring it! But you didn't . . . . .

I recently picked up an ESEE 3 in S35VN and put TKC handles on it.....it's one of my favorite knives now.

...the scales you are showing are micarta! My new Esee 3 has G10 scales, but I like the Micarta material better!

Hmmm, that handle looks to be canvas or linen micarta. Either way, gorgeous blade. Broke in trumps brand new in my opinion.

Good review and excellent video skills. I picked up both the ESEE 3 and ESEE 4 in S35VN stainless. I hope to use mine long term just as you did with your ESEE 3. I might need to pick up a Tek-Lok.

My personal take is handle is a bit skinny, I like the .125" thickness for edc, sheath definitely secures the knife perfectly. Overall very good knife imo

Seriously this knife is calling my name. I have better steel fixed blades but like this so much and the price is so good. I work in a national park all year all weather. Will the 1095 hold up with some care? I like it and am considering a purchase. Thanks for the videos.

Frank, I hate to say it, but it's a must-have 🤠. As long as you dry it, if it gets soaked, give it a little bit of oil or grease it should work beauty. The carbon steel is a joy to sharpen and of course after some aging, the petina look great!

Good review Jimmy. Ever have issues with G10 being slick in the snow or rain? I have a blank blade Helle knife that I am debating between wood or synthetic handle material. Hence the question about the G10.

Hi and thanks for the comment. In the video I said that it was G10 but in the description I fix that, it's actually Micarta. Had zero issues with it even soaking wet.

I agree. It’s a beast, a bargain (compared to comparable knives) and the handle feels great for me. I got the leather sheath and while I may need to replace it someday, it’s held up ok for the last 3 years of regular use.

I own both a moraknife and the esee 6. Zero comparison between the two. Mora feels like a cheap toy compared to the esee knives.

Have you ever had any issues with rust on the 1095 steel?

If you don't look after 1095 it will rust. Keep it oiled and don't put it away wet

Love mine, hate the sheath. It's fucking terrible in every way possible. Edit: Mine came with the molded plastic sheath that mounts to a flexible nylon thing that straps to a belt. That part, the flexible nylon, is absolutely fucking terrible. The molded plastic sheath is fine.

I don't mind the sheet so much, when attached to the pack I'm always wondering if it's going to fall out without a safety strap of some sort secondary retention.
