Good information! I just bought an AGK to replace my very old Buck skinning knife. I have not used it yet, but it feels and looks great. I figure if you pair the Esee AGK with an Esee CR2.5 (like a bird and trout knife) and a good camp axe you would be set for your hunting/camping adventures. I generally carry a kephart style knife, but the AGK gives me a good combination of the kephart and nesmuk style blades. Enjoy your adventures!!

I have the esse 4 for my larger brute force duties (like firewood/building a platform to keep you off the ground). AGK my wife just ordered for me for a skinning knife. My only concern is i feel like the blade is a little thick. Think I should get a thinner blade for fish?

I’ve been thinking of grabbing one of these for my oldest son, he’s just old enough to go hunting next season. I do take a buck and a doe every year but I do a ton of upland and waterfowl. Do you think it would be too big for a kid to use for breasting out a bird? Im torn between the Ashley game knife and the CR2.5.

Great question! It’s really not. I’ve used it on dove before and it works perfectly.
