@@GrowingDownUnder bit of both, the athletes in NFL are generally way bigger or athletic than most NRL players (not tougher btw) and they all do tonnes of explosiveness training so yeah the hits are pretty massive a lot of the time. Their technique for tackling sucks so without padding you'd probably see an injury on every play loool.
