Europe has always owned metal, the american music industry had a massive nepotism problem until the internet eventually got big and strong enough to trampled the gatekeepers so you all just didn't know about it. Nightwish was been one of the biggest bands in the world for almost a decade and Americans are first NOW learning about them. The last few years reaction videos have been popping up all over youtube of a band and songs that everyone in Europe have known since the 90s. In Flames *was* the biggest band in the world in the late 90s. When it comes to classic pure metal music the UK is probably the undisputed heavyweight king Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath etc etc. In the subgenre department Finland and Sweden have been competing for the title "Metal capital of the world" since the 80s. Both have an *obscene* number of world wide famous metal bands even when NOT comparing it to the very low population (roughly 10m and 5m people) The Netherlands and Germany has quite a few as well. Gothenburg is the no1 city in the world for metal (or at least it was from the 90s up until last I checked a few years back) There is even an officially recognized sound called "The gothenburg-sound" cuz there were THAT many globally known metalbands from Gothenburg. Im not saying there were no great American metal bands cuz there were and still are. Metallica, Panthera, Megadeth etc. But on the global stage European bands have pretty much always had the upper hand.
I think you should check out some Beast in Black. I don't see you reacted to them on this channel, and this is one of most talented and hot modern metal band in the scene right now, they been created in 2015 I think. They release new song few days ago, Moonlight Randezvous, seriously, one of most talented group there. And if you want more "serious" stuff from Eskimo Callboy, I recommend "Crystals", fantastic banger.
