I used to work for Engoo. It was a great 5-year ride with them, but there is a reason why I don't work for them anymore. Nagdraft pa ako ng video to tell my story kung bakit wala na ako sa Engoo sa channel ko. Overall, I can say, Engoo is easy to work with. The 'goodbye" wasn't good though.
I failed my application in Engoo and I promise to get back stronger! Maybe I just need to prepare and practice more to surely get hired. Hope to be part with you soon🤞

Hello Teacher Karen, I so love your videos. Nung buo na isip ko na e'let go ang 51Talk, itong dalawang companies nato talaga ang gusto kong applyan. Luckily, natanggap ako sa Engoo and true enough, lahat nang open slots ko napupuno, sometimes trip ko mag open nang 1-2 am kasi di ako makatulog, meron talaga nag bo'book. Ok lang sa salary rate kasi yung level nang stress ko is 1 out of 5 lang din naman. So yun, hehe
Diba, mararamdaman mo talaga yung "relaxation" hehehe iba kasi workload natin noon sa mga Chinese ESL companies. Sobrang toxic tas mejo underpaid pa :( I am glad nakahanap ka ng company na swak sayo.

I applied to Engoo this week and failed the 'explanations' test. I am rather baffled by this as I am a fluent native speaker with a BA degree in journalism and I have been teaching and training for some time...
It's quite frustrating when we fail. When I failed my Native Camp first demo class, I was like, "seriously?" but then again, it pushed me to do better the second time around and I passed. Hope you find a better company.
hello an engoo teacher here...this video is just premiered right..im wondering why miss abi's rate is 50ph? it is 60ph/25mins my say lng po ako don sa penalties... "With Notice Cancellations If the total number of cancelled classes in a cut off (regardless of the tagging) is equal to or lower than 5, the penalty for each “with notice” cancellation will be ₱20. However, incurring more than 5 cancellations of any tagging in the same cut off will warrant an increased penalty, which is equal to the tutor's lesson rate in case of “with notice” cancellations. This means that if you cancel more than 5 classes in a cut off, the penalty for each “with notice” cancellation will be equal to your lesson rate. Without Notice Cancellation If the total number of cancelled classes in a cut off (regardless of the tagging) is equal to or lower than 5, the penalty for each “without notice” cancellation will be two times the tutor’s rate per lesson. However, incurring more than 5 cancellations of any tagging in the same cut off will warrant an increased penalty, which is three times the tutor's lesson rate in case of “without notice” cancellations. This means that if you cancel more than 5 classes in a cut off, the penalty for each “without notice” cancellation will be three times your lesson rate." =about the booking rate yes maganda xa kung maganda din ang teacher's ratings mo..i experienced to have 4.60+ scores nku for sure ang tumal ng booking mo..makasahod ka ng 4k+ per cut off ang sakit! kaya maintain tlga ang magandang ratings.. overall japanese students are polite and discipline..my iba lng na epal like junior and high school students na timid na nga in the end kaw pa ung mapaphamak sa ratings...sabotahe kung baga...ang hirap makagain ng scores it takes weeks para gumanda ulit ung ratings mo tpos sa isang iglap lng ang bilis ding bumaba ng rating mo..makaisang 4 stars ka lng nku it can go down to 1-3 points lost..tpos para makagain ka ulit ng isang increase lng sa ratings mo you need to have 3 or even more than five stars ratings para lng makagain ka ng ISANG POINT! ODIVAAAA!!! bat d nabanggit ni miss abi na kung may booked slot ka tpos absent c student within 15mins ang grace period for the student to enter the class but if they still neglected to enter..mgauto-cancelled class n xa w/pay..kaya hayahay ka na...then if ung next slot mo is d din nabooked within 15mins it will automatically close and ayun ung next time slot mo is hayahay mode mo na yun.. wait ka na lgn ulit ng 15mins if my may booked don sa sunod na slot para may class ka ulit..

@@maravillafamilyadventure2533 According to Engoo's support page, the required internet speed is 1mbps for both upload and download. Speed test should also be connected to any Tokyo servers. Regardless, 5mbps is certainly better since it can deliver a much clearer and smoother connection. Salary is Php. 60 per 25 minute lesson. When you have a 10% tax deduction, it becomes Php. 54. There are bonuses if you acquire certain tags. However it is currently unavailable as of the moment. Perhaps the team is updating the materials. I agree with the comment above. I dont really like talking to teenagers and high school students. The rating system is also a big sus. Takes a while for your rating to increase.
I conducted my second demo lesson today. But according to the admin, he didn't hear my voice. He asked me to check my settings but my microphone is working. After a couple of minutes, he said that he would still give me another chance to retake the demo. But after the that, I checked my microphone and it is working. How come that the admin didn't hear me? 😭
Maybe it's because of how your microphone was setup in Google Chrome, try to clear cache and clear the browsing history of Chrome to reset the microphone settings too. That happened to me but the problem was my camera.

@@michaelsantos1221 for Native Camp usually it should be available by 10pm same day. If not, the next day. You will just see "ok" on the demo class. No score or feedback.

You can receive incentives for selected tags that you acquire. An announcement is usually posted regarding the incentive amount for each tag. For basic tags (Good with Kids, Business, Beginner and Advanced), I believe there's no incentives. For Materials Tag, these are tags that reflect whether you are familiar with a certain material or not. To acquire such tags, you need to study tutorials and samples of the material in question, and then pass a test. You can submit the test more than once, and if you pass, you will receive a one-time incentive. No additional incentive is given per conducted lesson. This tag includes the ff: 1. Let's Go - one time incentive offered upon acquiring tag is 3x lesson fee 2. Eiken Tag - unavailable 3. Speaking Test Tag - disabled. Material is undergoing revision.
I applied for NATIVE CAMP. I got 90% of the EPT however, I’m quite nervous regardless of the Demo. There are only some lapses that I needed to do. I was given times to re-take the demo. However, I didn’t pass.
Honestly, I find their demo quite challenging. They're very strict here in Native Camp. Though, since I was able to document my entire demo class, I will upload a video soon on how to pass this :) Please stay tuned

And in the first place, madami na silang breach of contract, gaya ng.pag mas termination without warning, removal of bonus and manipulation of tutor class table, quits lang hehehe

Teach, pls make a video on how to identify if the company is legit. Kasi, yung iba, mga opportusnista. Alam nila an marami nag hahanap now ng ESL job, sina-scam nila. May na encounter po ako now. Different companies but same papasahan ng requirements sa skype. Yung bsta2 nlng po na nag popost ng "WE ARE HIRING" sa mga ibat ibang pages mga online teachers.

Di ko inexpect na may ganitong opportunity sa ibang ESL Company. I tried to apply sa Native camp pero sa language proficiency, di na agad ako nakapasa pero sa palagay ko madali lang naman ung questions :( currently in Acadsoc.
For Native Camp, they follow Philippines time parin naman. Japan is just ahead by an hour. Taiwan has the same time as Philippines. For Engoo, I'm not sure though :(
Ikaw parin po, you can actually check with NC, hindi pa kasi ako nakaka1 year so hindi ko masabi if may ITR. But as far as I know wala. But again, better check with them
Hello, teacher! I'm currently teaching sa ibang online teaching platform. Curious lang po ako sa tax. Every sahod po magkakaltas ng tax, right? Parang ansaket lng kasi sa bulsa yung 10%. Hehehe Pls tell us more po about dun sa tax pay. 😅
10% is fixed in Native Camp, for Engoo you can apply for an exception, just not sure how. Well I think here in NC, it's reasonable since they offer php80 per 25 minute classes for regular students.

TIN is just a number dear that you will use for the rest of your life :) for tax recording lang siya. So you just have to proceed with your application and let them know you are a working student :) or this is your first job
wala po silang requirement na kahit ano pero kung gusto mong nagkakasalary increase ka ng 4 pesos every 2 weeks, request nila 20 booked classes per cutoff.
Hyper naman ako Teach, kapag kids ang students ko, I always get a 5 star review. Kapag adults, depende naman sa level ng kausap ko, but I still use TPR. My students appreciate my energy especially with kids. For adults, I am more calm and relaxed and I focus on knowledge extension parin. so happy sila.
Teacha Karen, paano po kayo nakaalis sa Acadsoc? Nagsubmit po kasi ako ng cancellation of application (di po resignation letter kasi di pa po approved contract ko) pero more than a week na po wala pa rin pong reply TM ko. Yung pangalawang TM ko po hindi ako nireplyan tapos yung pumalit po sa kaniya hindi rin po ako nirereplyan. Sana po mashare niyo po paano po kayo "nakalaya". Pakiramdam ko po kasi parang nakakadena ako sa kanila dahil napirmahan ko yung kontrata 😢 Di po ako maka-apply sa Engoo kasi nakalagay po sa contract na bawal po ako mag-apply doon (Bibo) :((
Hindi na ako umasa sa reply kasi either way wala naman point, ginawa mo na ang part mo e, I just left them my resignation letter and considered it my last day.

Eh kasi, tinamad na ako because I was so happy with Native Camp, but honestly, there's nothing wrong with Novakid, I just didn't like thei 20 hour per week requirement.
I am currently looking for a job, after I lost one, but I am 4 months pregnant now, is Native Camp accepting a pregnant applicants, or naghahanap ba ang native Camp like Medical as a requirement? Actually, natanong ko din to kay AbiGJ good to know naman ksi hindi naman daw magtatanong si Engoo about the applicant status, how about naman kay Native Camp?
Hello, I strongly promote Native Camp because of how well they treat their teachers. Since you are an independent contractor, they do not really mind if you are pregnant or if you have to take a maternity leave. I actually started working there on my 2nd month of pregnancy. And I am now on my maternity leave and I'm still with the company.
Ahh, so should I inform them about my status or no need na? I was thinking, home based naman siya I can work until my Due date, and to take leave lang after I give birth, and btw thank you for answering my question... Truly appreciated 💜
Don't rely too much about this job as your career. In the ESL world, every day could be your last day. Foreign learners are free to convey their feedbacks to the management and if you are not pleasing enough for them, you will be sacked right off the bat! Most complaints, in my opinion are more like intensified by racial prejudice against Filipino tutors as justified like " I don't like my teacher because she/he has Filipino accent blah blah blah. Koreans and Chinese nationals are the most demanding and entitled learners hence, they complain a lot. Most management have no choice but to give these learners the benefit of the doubt.
I understand where you're coming from. This is why it's important to have multiple sources of income especially for independent contractors. Unlike the corporate world, our employment is not 100% secured.
