Just getting back into this game since release. I played up to lvl 26 at release then my wife and I had our first baby and I had to stop playing. Just started playing again over the weekend and your channel is great!
You’ve actually showed people and explained it so easily and it makes sooo much more sense now! When you tubers don’t show you what they’re talking about it just becomes jumbled words to me and makes me frustrated Thankyou!!!!
As always excellant, excellant guide! I have 2 different toons that are maxed out and near Grand Master crafter, and I still learned something!! All those glyphs I've created and never made the connection of "de" and "ra" !! lol Also I think its worth mentioning, that although there are enough skill points in the game for your main to max out crafting, early on you'll drive yourself nuts, trying to get enough skill points to unlock necassary skills to "not be squishy" AND getting enough skill points to also unlock crafting passives, especially when trying to get an equipment skill line high enough to use the purple motiffs. Personally I ran an adventurer toon and a crafter toon, then when they maxout thier roles, I switch and max then in the other roles. Meanwhile the main adventurer can feed decon gear to the crafter, and the crafter can feed research gear to the adventurer.
Yep that totally makes sense! I agree that you should focus on your build with skill points FIRST, then focus on the crafting points later on :) Glad you enjoyed the video!
Amazing guide! You covered a lot of things I was curious about. I just started working on a designated crafting character. Great info! Liked and subscribed bro thanks so much!
I want to say that instead of running dungeons to get the jewelry to deconstruct you should run dolemens and geysers instead. You aren't guaranteed a jewelry piece from dungeons but you ARE guaranteed at least one from dolemens and geysers.
You should add timestamps on the description, it's a lengthy video with a lot of important information. Skipping some to see if you find what you were looking for might make you miss other good stuff unintentionally.
Good video for someone already semi familiar with the crafting system to help iron out confusions and provide clarity. This video is probably not going to work for new players with almost zero base knowledge of the crafting system as it moves through concepts too fast and uses too much jargon therefore difficult to follow without some prerequisite videos or experience.
While not the best crafting system, it is a very complex and rewarding crafting system if you take time to invest in it. And as you said, you can mostly ignore it if crafting isn't your thing. Great coverage of this system
I happen to understand this, but imagine someone who doesn't play video games at all listening to this. Lol Like trying to explain football rules to someone who doesn't watch sports.
So I do have few questions. 1. How much time do you need to upgrade them all to level 50? 2. How much does research take time all combined for one piece? 3. How much time you need to spend to grind resources for one legendary item (including enchantment)? 4. In theory if I maxed out my crafter with everything (I mean all research and all stuff) can I make money with him? Like made whole new legendary build that someone needs and sell it and is it worth it?
1) Depends on if you power level or level them organically 2) Depends based on perks taken, but they scale up like 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, etc, with the final perk taking about 30 days. 3) Again, depends. Depends on where you farm, if you just buy the mats, etc. 4) Yes you absolutely can! And whether or not its worth it depends on the market price of the item youre trying to sell vs the cost to make said item.
It lets you be very specific with your gear. Especially once you get to crafting sets and such. (I'm also new-ish, but that's the reason I'm bothering with crafting myself.)
I forgot the most basic tip for crafting , sub to EsO that infinite space materials bag to store all the materials u need to do daily writs , u can technicly store all the material in ur inventory or bank but it soo inconvenient and u gonna run to “inventory is full” on ur screen lmao
u dont need the bag to do dialy writs and the bank isnt inconvenient as you can craft straight from the bank (you dont have to get the materials out from the bank to craft stuff)
My question has always been when should I start crafting? Obviously I'm researching but like say I'm following dottzs leveling guide. Do I do the leveling guide first or sort of a mix. Right now I just got some skills and am not doing combat passives until everything in all crafts is good. I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
Level up the crafting while you level - deconstruct basically everything you dont need. Skill point wise, focus on your combat skills and passives FIRST, and once you have a complete build, then worry about crafting :)
Do you need to research let’s say xp bonus trait on every weapon and armor? Or is it enough to research one? If I research and learn “training” from a robe, can I use that on an axe?
I’ve leveled my blacksmithing, clothing, and woodworking up just by deconstructing gear. I do a lot of dungeons though. I’m still working on researching traits but that takes forever compared to everything else.
Should I worry about traits first or leveling first? Or at the same time? I have a lot of gear in my bank and inventory that I could research but If I level my stuff up I actually get more research time? So shouldn't I focus on leveling up then focus on traits if I want to power level my stuff?
I have kind of a newb question. With research being so vital but deconstruction being the primary method to level, how do you know which items to destroy via research (prioritizing traits) and which items to go ahead and deconstruct? Thanks!
An add-on like research assistant or trait buddy helps a ton! If you don't have add-ons or are on console, there's an icon that appears in your inventory that tells you if you have/haven't researched the trait yet! So you can safely deconstruct the ones with traits you've researched, or ones with traits you have duplicates of (addons help with the duplicate tracking)
Your guides are awesome, and this one is a humdinger, thank you! BUT....could you slow down a bit pleeaaase?? You gallop along at such a pace it's hard to follow and I have to watch it multiple times to catch everything.
Maybe I missed it, but I can't seem to find anywhere information on how to craft an item that is researchable for other characters. For example, how to make a cuirass by one toon that has a researchable impenetrable trait for another of my toons. How do I do this????
Hello , I'm still trying to learn all this , I keep up on the research & Brake down / Deconstruct everything that I don't need , I even make items and then deconstruct them again as many times that i can , Now that I have level 50 in all my crafting skills and there are some things that I can not make , It's the basic items but at a higher level , Do I need to level Ranks up also on top of my main levels ? It's like I'm level 50 in woodworking & My Combat level is 800 Champion but there is items that won't let me make at the upper levels only at a lower level , What could I be doing wrong & What's the best way to fix this problem ? Lets me make it but at the lower rank only . Console Player
Liked and subbed. Very informative video. I just picked up ESO last weekend for the XB1. I've been deconning everything as it just made sense, and not everything sells. I love to steal everything from the blacksmith areas to break down, even though you don't always get mats from it. When it comes to skill points, I started out randomly assigning them, and accidentally leveled up two-handed thinking it was dual wielding, soo....can skill points be reset at some point to make a new build? I'd love to take my skills out of Magicka and mess them around into health and stam for some sneaky stabby stabby.
I saw that some of the crafting perks allow you to craft an additional item(s) when you craft. Do those additions you get (if you unlock the perk) add to your progress when leveling up the skill? Or are they just there so you have extra final resources to use or sell?
Ok my fellow Dottz subscribers, I need some help. I want to build my stamblade into a death machine. He is a Nord, there is the challenge. I have a crafter so anything that may need to be crafted I can do except jewelery. I have lots of monster sets. What can I do to accomplish this ? Right now I'm running innate axiom and swamp Raiders with 1 piece slimecraw and 1 piece Lord warden. I run 2 tri stat glyphs and the rest stam, jewelery is 2 weapon damage and 1 Stam recovery. Should I change to spriggans ? Can I gear swap for pve and PvP ?
iTs oNlY $10 a MoNtH tHo Give it over a year of subscription rather than buying everything individually AND KEEPING IT and then all of a sudden you’re spending $100 a year for just a crafting bag lmaoo Just use an inventory toon for extra supplies..
Back to the game from a long hiatus. I logged out while crafting and it seemed to not decrease my research time, but I may have selected a longer research time than I remember. Does research time no longer decrease while offline? Or am I tripping?
I'm new to this game, just hit level 10 and I'm playing the nightblade class but with a bow and arrow and the bow skills. I played WoW at the start of WOD (yes I know it was a horrible time) and recently quit. Anyways, eso so far has ticked MANY boxes for me and from the bat I can safely say the community here is extremely helpful. However, in dungeons my dps feels lackluster compared to everyone else, is this because I only have 3 abilities for my bow or am I playing the game wrong?
Hey! That could definitely be part of it! While leveling though, i recommend checking out this guide, it's going to help you a LOT with making sure your character is as powerful as possible while leveling: dottzgaming.com/build/eso-nightblade-leveling-build/
@@dottzgaming Thanks! I'll certainly give it a read. Question though, is it possible for someone to JUST level and use the bow skills while doing enough dps, or are the class skills a must?
Just started playng 2 days ago, and i feel i need to craft my own gear if i don't want my character to look like a clown with mismatched pieces of armor.
Took a 6 year hiatus lol do all of the things still apply, any changes to note? I know this video was made awhile ago and it’d be a lot of work to do an update so if you could just comment I’d greatly appreciate it, thank you! And have a good day man
I have done crafting without crafting bag tho. U just need to learn what to keep in inventory, what to keep in bank, what to keep in homestoreage. Not to mention the regular eso+ free trial let me use the crafting bag. Just grab a lot of mats during that. U have enough mats to use for months
@@thebeststooge bored of what exactly. Game offers option. You either take what you need or you take advantage of ESO+ game gives you a lot freedom but if you want to be crafter without paying sub then take only what you need rather than everything. I know its not really fun to do that and feels kinda lame but hey if you wanna be crafter maybe learn what you need first rather than take everything
I'm not use ESO+ , Just manage bank and inventory in all my characters wisely. Know what you need and not to keep help a lot. Now im at all 8-9 trait set research. Just put all your crafting item in crafting bag during ESO+ trial.
I just buy my bi-stat food and tri-potions with Alliance Points, much faster and cheaper than crafting it or paying someone with gold, and it's just as good if not slightly weaker.
Hey man ive been building my mag dk for sometime now ive tried so many combos right now im in bright throat spinners and 2 bloodspawn but im lacking defensely alot and i feel weak in some cases
I’m having trouble approaching research. Every time I come across a piece of armor I can research I store it. As of now most of my bank space an player inventory is filled with armor that needs to be researched. Is there a better way to go about this or am I just gonna have to deal with it? I’ve already put points into reducing the research time and improved my bank and bag space.
WHAT? Jewelry crafting is used for creating jewelry?!? Next you're gonna tell me spell casting uses magicka. 🤣😝 Awesome, very useful video even 10 months later, thank you!
It also depends on how much time you have to play. At launch I created a main character, 2 playable alts and 2 mule characters (for storage only). I split the crafting professions between my 3 playable characters so that I had enough skill points for crafting and fighting on each character. The problem was that I ended up spending 30-45 min every day just shuffling around items, deconstructing, managing inventory after playing for an hour or 2 on my main (whose pack space would constantly fill up and have to be dealt with). So almost a third of my playtime was just dealing with inventory. ESO+ was a godsend. It's worth it just for the crafting bag.
