@tatianebassani8792 well I am one of the lucky ones that had 5 strikes against him obiesity,high blood pressure, diabetes maker. I actually developed a fistula between my esophagus and my bronchial lumen so we repaired that now when I heal up I'll get re attached and all will be well. Cancer free so no complaints here

My mom had white coat fair, she never told us she was having trouble swallowing, she had always been a picky eater and never really liked food. In October I went with her to a birthday party and she took a bite of food and it came right back out and she said it tasted bad. I didn't give it much thought, then later in October we all went to dinner to celebrate my parents 64 anniversary and again she said she didn't like the food and took it home. She started drinking Boost she started losing weight and at first she was happy because she could fit into some pants that she liked, then the weight loss continued and in mid November she went to the dr. and had some CAT scans etc then Thanksgiving came we hff ad such a great time, we played bingo for scratch tug tickets. The day after that she couldn't get any liquid down so we took her to the hospital and they gave her liquids and we had not heard from her primary doctor, they sent her home. The next day she put her shirt on backwards and inside out and we called her doctors office and the answering service said to take her to the hospital. Went to the emergency room and the ER doctor came in and said what seems to be the problem she told them that she couldn't swallow and wanted a scope to stretch her throat so she could swallow, the dr. looked at her paper work and said a scope isn't going to help you. You have cancer, I thought I was going to faint and began to cry, then the ER dr. Said, oh I see you don't know, I'm sorry but your primary dr. should have told you. Mom was in a coma three days later, died December 8, 2020 buried December 13 and then covid

I’m sorry for what you went through. I do want to give you some advice if you end up at other cancer fighters videos… I am a cancer patient myself, and it makes me feel quite terrible when I tell someone what type of cancer I have (sarcoma) and then that person goes on to tell me how they knew someone who had the same type of cancer and then that person DIED. I know this isn’t your intention. I’m sure it’s never anyone’s intention. And realize we all deserve to be heard and I know you are still grieving and I am sorry you are… but i urge you to refrain from leaving words like this on a cancer patient’s own personal video. It’s just makes them feel worse. I say this from experience. I also say this with kindness in my heart as a scared cancer fighter. ❤️

@@skywaterhaven, thank you for your reply and i wish you also the best and a long life. My OP is on 11 January 2019. Unbelivable that i have to undergo such a big operation for just a tiny little T1a tumor which is not even visible in the CT pictures. The endoscopic resection which i had a few weeks ago was not enough to get everything out. They still found cancer cells on the edges of the removed Mucosa. Have you done a Chemo Therapy before or after your OP? I denied it in my case. Best regards from Germany.

@@ShowlightMedia you sound like me before my surgery.... exact same thing! I could not believe it. I went thru 3 resections, but they didn't think they got it all. So I felt it was best to go all in to make sure. Wishing you a quick recovery!!

@@ShowlightMediaHow are you after the surgery?
@ShowlightMedia
@ShowlightMedia Месяц назад
Hello! After my surgery, I was quickly back on my feet and was able to leave the hospital after about a week. I am now in my fifth year post-operation and supposedly cancer-free. However, my digestion of food has changed significantly, leading to frequent bloating and diarrhea. The symptoms of Dumping Syndrome, which often occur after diarrhea, are quite annoying, but it's all better than being dead. I can eat everything I want in moderation; it's just a question of whether I can tolerate it. It is important to sleep with your upper body elevated after the surgery because otherwise, the remaining stomach acid can flow into your throat and possibly your windpipe, which is very, very unpleasant.

How long you had trouble swallowing food? Did you feel chest pain when not eating ? Did you feel severe pain while stretching your chest or while you try to stand or sit?
@Esophagectomy
@Esophagectomy 4 года назад
Hey there, I had trouble stalling food for about 2 years, before I was diagnosed. No chest pain. The think that caught my attention was the symptom of "Coughing after eating". That what took to me the doctor to get looked at.
