He signed an autograph for me when I was a kid after a show. He was just casually walking through the parking lot and I recognized him, very cool and down to earth guy. RIP Jeff Hanneman.

That guy isnt able to hate.Believe me.A friend of mine worked as a guitar tech for him, and i had the luck to get a backstagepass and talk to him. Nicest, shy and down to earth guy.I tought he was a simple worker just hangin out, leaning at a wall and drank beer.So i ask him how the band is like and he smiled and told me that they are all assholes accept that hanneman.. And he orderd me a beer and sombody yelled 'get jeff a fucking beer.I nearly pissed my pants i swear.

I was lucky enouhg to probably get as closets to Slayer and Jeff before he passed. I was sitting with Dave lombardo and his son the night before Jeff died. I asked them "how is Jeff doing?", Dave's son answerd:"he could do better if he stopped drinking, its messing up his recovery", we both laughed. The next morning i woke up to the news of Jeffs death. Rip brother!!!

Love it! You are missed brother. You were SLAYER and I haven’t been able to follow them since your death. We used to stand on your side of the stage. As for hockey and football, I agree with contact sports. I’d add Rugby also. Growing up, and still playing hockey was ruthless. Intent to injure ruthless. And we blasted metal before our games to get pumped up for the kill.

His legacy lives on today, and will for decades. The songs he wrote set the bar for the vast majority of bands that followed in the next generations of metal groups. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Slayer deserve the same type of recognition a band like Led Zeppelin gets. Truly game-changing music.

I always loved Jeff just the way he hated me! Thank you for the music and RIP Jeff Hanneman!

The guy was a legend, and everything he said was spot on. One of my favorite bass guitars is esp, it's an older model but the price was right, especially since Tom plays one just like it.
