Initially came to a music shop without any thought of buying anything and wanted to just try something new, but when I played little bit this guitar I decided to buy it(250 euro discount also was reason to do that 😅). My first FR guitar, I play it almost as often(if not more often) as my Ibanez prestige rg652 in RPB, great sound, great fill, and great looks(at least for me). Thanks for review!
In 1987 I was 2 years old , my dad got me into rock & metal guitar and I've been addicted ever since...I own the LTD M-1 87 series with the single Seymour Duncan distortion/floyd rose. Its an incredible instrument
What a sweetheart of a guy and very talented. This is a really cool looking guitar. In '87, I was in the throws of romance with my first love. I was also in love with hair metal.
Another highly desirable guitar from ESP, and in a great colour, that shade of pink realy suits the guitar. Played to perfection, thanks for a great review Jonathan.
1987...I was in a 3pc band and we did mostly instrumentals cuz we didn’t have a singer...Rush “La Villa”...lots of Satriani, lots of other songs just no singing...ahh, good times...we had so much fun... I had an 82 Les Paul custom and a JCM 800 50watt half stack...I thought I was a rock star!!!hahahaha!!!!
This guitar has similar spec like its 87 counterpart. The biggest different between them is the headstock. ESP won't make the original headstock because it is too similar with Jackson. To me, I prefer this newer headstock because it is what differentiate ESP and other metal guitar brand.
I was rocking a black Horizon in '87 on the Sunset Strip in L.A. Great guitar. It came with a DiMarzio X2N knockoff that was noisy so I changed it to a Duncan Custom which worked a lot better. The neck pickup was a Hot Rail knockoff that sounded great. I had to split coils for cleans. It was a great ax. I was going to get a Jackson Soloist which cost twice as much in those days. I got the Horizon for $700 with a case. It was a heck of a bargain. I eventually drifted away from metal style guitars back to strats and a much cleaner, more Eric Johnson kind of tone. But I can't knock ESP. They make fine guitars.
I’m not normally a fan of pink on guitars but that’s really nice. It has a great range of tones too. In 87 I was finished with bands but still playing in church. I bought a Tascam 8 track ports studio and started writing songs and submitted them everywhere but it’s a hard industry to break as a songwriter 😀 In saying that music has been a steady rock and a blessing in my life and that’s more important. Great video Jon- cheers 😀👍❤️
Inspiring! Your music is probably too good & diverse for many labels to try & get a handle on.Similar thing with me-they want it their way, but yes not many people realize that music you create is so much more important than the ''industry'' keep rockin' don't abandon you music!Oh yeah the ESP, I want it,seems like a very well made good sounding axe!
it's appearance is super metal. But you are playing ballad at 2:04. My perception of heavy metal guitar (high gain humberker) has been collapsing. you can tame any guitar for your tone. by the way. sir do you make your own backing track?
Came for the guitar review and stayed for the song 😍 this is so good. Did you just wrote it for the demo or is it an actual song we can listen to somewhere?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud great stuff Jonathan!! Quick question if you have time do you know the string spacing on the nick johnston saddles and the locking tuners you’ve installed do you have the product number for your atomic orange guitar.
You can probably find the info on vegatrem website.. or you can email them. Nick Johnston USA Signature Atomic Orange Wembley “Atomic Orange” Nitro SKU #7054
@@JonIsJustTooLoud tried to get infor on just saddle spacing from schecter but no response. I really just want to remove factory saddles and use graph tech. Unfortunately I have the same issue that you've had with that guitar high e b strings they don't stay in tune I've had that guitar set up professionally twice and I can't keep those higher strings in tune. I feel like I'm in the same position as you it's going to take some modifications.
