When we think of doing Project-based Learning in the ELT context, it is more common to relate it to children and teens than to adults. It gets even harder to conceive this idea at the university (and graduate) level. However, recent days require us to teach all kinds of learners to take ownership of their learning process, providing them with higher levels of autonomy and agency to discuss topics which will interest them, give them support so they get better able to reflect on and make connections between the diverse research topics and their realities, as well as use the language to achieve their academic goals.
Thus, in this workshop we delved into ideas to create and develop projects with graduate students, exploring key points for this teaching and learning context, investigating lesson plans, and coming up with possibilities to assess the tasks from a redesign perspective.
