In this video we will create a device for to show the weather, the news and the clock. We will only use an ESP8266 Wemos D1 Mini and Dot Matrix Module.

Enter URL into Additional Board Manager URLs field. You can add multiple URLs, separating them with commas.
Install ESP8266 Boards:
Open Boards Manager and install esp8266 platform.
Install Required Libraries:

Initial Configuration:
After connected to your WiFi network it will display the IP addressed assigned to it and that can be used to open a browser to the Web Interface.The default user / password for the configuration page is: admin / password
Open Weather Map API Key: openweathermap....
News API Key: newsapi.org/

I love how so many projects assume everyone just has a 3D printer laying around. They have come down a lot in price but with that comes loads of junk that does not work. I hate to see folks dash out to buy cheap printers only to find they do not stay in alignment and are difficult to maintain. If you must buy a printer do your homework first. The only thing I would every recommend to anyone would be the Creality CR 10 and its derivatives. That said I built this project using 4 displays to extend the length and put them in PVC pipe with some nice plastic shrink covering.

Excellent! project. Is there any way to blink the colon between the hour and min of time display, I cannot tell if my esp is frozen or the time is running, rest all is great.

Amazing work! Do you think it would be possible to use this with a manually assembled matrix using single color LED's and 74HC595 shift registers to control the rows and columns (I have one that I build already, but LOVE your code, and would really like to use this with my project)?

I've got it all made but after the hello message I am getting...Please connect to AP: clock-177590 then a space the wifi appears and that stays on all the time. I have no idea what is going on. I am not getting the IP address. Any suggestions?

I am using a nodemcu 1.0 esp-12E I load the blink and other programs and I run it well but the program "SIMPLE that comes with the neopixel library the charges it, but the LEDs does not turn on, it is a tape with 16 LEDs ws2812, the tape I poor it with an arduino one and the same program "SIMPLE" and everything works well, to see if you help me because if the esp loads the program does not execute it and my main interest is that it executes this program.

I've been watching your RU-vid videos and they are full of great practical lessons & DIY projects. I do have a slight problem. I just finished working out all the bugs and getting my version of Weather Station Marque functioning. However, the User Name and Password are not working to allow me back in to change settings. Can you as an Administrator reset my User Name and Password? Or at least inform me as to how to go about re-seting the IP address website. I need to get back in and can not log in. All your support regarding this request is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

1. I am using your wide clock version. V 3.01. But after some hours (12/14 hours) clock is going hang. Freeze the display. But after restarting the clock, then it is getting normal. And this is happening 1/2 times a day. What's the problem? 2. How I can change SSID and Password?

Small roadblock... maybe just me... Error loading web interface at given address 192.168.X.X Had to rewrite: matrix.setPosition(0, 0, 0); // The first display is at matrix.setPosition(1, 1, 0); // The second display is at matrix.setPosition(2, 2, 0); // The third display is at matrix.setPosition(3, 3, 0); // And the last display is at To fix reverse Max panel writing with original code API's are a pain to add manually and seems not to work

In which file do i have to configure the Wifi SSID , password and LED pin configuration. i am able to upload the marquee.ino code on esp8622, Kindly help. Logs: in Serial port following is printed.
