For all you Fowler haters, he had the guts to expose what Urban Myer had going on at Florida when Urban was king, while working at the Orlando Sentinel. People hated him for that, but that story should have given pause for people dealing with Meyer in the future.

Irresponsible journalism to “allege” a conversation that probably took place. He got his clicks through!!

This is such yellow journalism! An unnamed source, we heard, etc. Is this for real! Why not wait till you have more concrete facts and you have at least someone credible willing to go on the record to substitute the claim? Unbelievable! What's more is why would ESPN brass sign off on publishing such a story on such shaky ground. What's the yard stick on what meets the smell test? I'd like to hear from someone with journalism credentials on this subject matter.

Rich said (last year) that during the combine there are more "talks" (chit chat) than during a soap opera convention. It tells the whole story. And, as every sports news company live in this "ultra competitive" NFL news era (thanks to internet and the social media), we got to this situation. Not an expert, but i'm not sure that the same thing happens in the NBA or the NHL. And, of course, the draft is basically like a huge poker table, where lies and rumors and misinformations are the golden rules.

This isn't politics, there shouldn't be any anonymous sources.

have they elaborated on any of their sources? i’m not saying the claims aren’t true, but some of the statements came from multiple levels of sources (“sources of sources”). which is quite dubious,m.

ESPN doesn’t do journalism. This was absurd. He's not trustworthy? Rich: ok, about what? Fowler: uhhhhhhhhh we don't know what...Rich: GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!

Belichick is 69, he's only going to coach 2-3 more seasons, and he'd require a lot of control, so he's not a good fit for most organizations. Not sure why this is surprising to anyone. I think he'll be coaching the Cowboys next year.

Fact is Kraft never got over Brady leaving he probably thought coaches last longer than players but Pats sucked and the fact Brady’s replacement didn’t last 4 years so I’m sure he blames Bill for state of the team while Brady won another SB

I can understand why NFL teams don't want to hire a 72 year old coach. That said, Belichick seems a lot more mentally alert than the two guys currently running for POTUS. God save us.

Yet Bill Belichick was completely approachable with a guy like Pat Mcafee and youre telling me he decided to be emotionless with a man like Arthur Blank? Kraft is buying the integrity of so many media and reporters.

Surprised Fowler would attach his name to such a ridiculous piece. Source of a source of a source.... any other story and it would never get published. Just a hit piece on the GOAT. Trash journalism

I'm late to this party but IMO, Belichick should never again be trusted with a HC position. He's borderline megalomaniacal, and a cancer in any position of authority. I would hire him as a DC with very minimal authority only. He's also a HUGE hypocrite. He expects EVERYONE ELSE to be accountable and team driven so, WHY ISN'T HE??!! It's abundantly clear that Belichick is a brilliant Narcissist. He's the best defensive and tactical mind the game has ever seen, but he has NO respect for offense and offensive players, and NO respect for the Owner that employs him. He has repeatedly undermined what was best for the team while claiming otherwise. Sitting Malcolm Butler in SB 52 threw ALL Players under the Bus! How was that best for the TEAM?! Players are human and all different. It's a HC duty to manage personalities and CREATE an atmosphere of SUCCESS for overall TEAM benefit! Ruining the starting QB consciously or unconsciously because he isn't "your guy" is Textbook NARCISSISM and absolutely NOT what is “BEST” for the TEAM! Belichick does what is best for his EGO! He may have cut his football teeth under Navy Athletics, and he may THINK he runs a team modeled on the military, but he does NOT! He FORGOT that EVERY serviceman swears an oath and is accountable to a higher authority! The Admiral or General, may not agree with or even respect The President, but it's their duty to their country to follow orders and to NEVER undermine or subvert “The Boss” or the MEN under their command. Belichick repeatedly does both. IMO, players were willing to endure the "Belichick Way" because they believed TB12 ensured a legitimate SB shot year after year. Yes, the defenses were equally important to the repeated success, but The GOAT was the GLUE that held it all together. When the glue dissolved, it unsurprisingly fell apart.

This reporting is an absolute disgrace. Anonymous sources, narrative and absolutely no respect for a guy - Belichick - who has given so much to the game of football and the NFL.
