She's good - but she definitely has a "watchability" factor and Q rating that comes from more than just her playing "ability." Some of the greatest NBA players and W players of all-time, much greater than Caitlin in terms of ability, are unbelievably hard to watch (ie. - Tim Duncan, Chauncey Bills, Kawhi Leonard, et al.) People enjoy everything about Caitlin - hell, I never miss a postgame or pregame interview from her, because she has so much charisma. She has "it," the way Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Will Smith have "it."

So true, in Clarks Points + Assist account for 30% to 50% of her teams points. You'd think tat might be important in MVP and ROY discussions.

However, when you start using adjustments one have to include turnovers, cant create stats to build without telling the full story. Facts matter

Think about it for a second what distance is she mainly shooting from? Under 5 ft closer to 3 ft. It kinda puts a new perspective on 42%

Here's the points-accounted-for-per-game comparison, to make everything 100% fair, plus also noting how many yrs they've played in the WNBA (EDITED for spacing issues): 1. Ionescu (5th yr): 708/21 = 33.71 2. Wilson (7th yr): 671/20 = 33.55 3. Clark (rookie): 713/22 = 32.41 4. Ogunbowale (6th yr): 705/22 = 32.05 That's still unbelievably great for Clark, especially as a rookie being compared to some of the best established vets...

@@michael1257 As OP said, this was an ESPN stat - more specifically, a graphic they flashed on the screen during a game broadcast, and they only showed the top 4. But it's a good question so just for you and for my curiosity as well, I did the math Reese: it's roughly around 367 total points produced, or 18.35 per game, which is a little over half of the pt production of the top 4. Here's the calculations if interested: - 282 pts & 37 ast = 282 + 74 = 356 pts accounted for, if she only assisted on 2s - To try to be more fair and account for the possibility that she might have assisted on some 3s, I boosted her assisted buckets by the same percentage as the Sky's team 3pt%, which is 30.2%. So that would mean 11 of her 37 ast resulting in 3s, which is 85 pts assisted on instead of 74. - With this revised total, that would be 367 pts assisted. - Per game, that would be: 367/20 = 18.35 2 caveats regarding Reese here: - It might be a bit generous to say that Reese assisted on that many 3s, considering guards are somewhat more likely than bigs to assist on 3s given that guards are generally more likely to pass along or out to the perimeter. But it also didn't feel quite right to assume none of Reese's assists were on 3s, either. - Rebounds are not factored into this stat, because they do not directly lead to pts UNLESS it's an offensive rebound by the same player - and Reese has many of those. However, that's already counted under her scoring, so you don't double-count them. Rebounds obviously help the team, just tough to prove/calculate how they directly lead to pt production except for what I just mentioned.

And has excelled very well culminating with her Triple Double against the Best Team in Wnba the NY Liberty

@@jto-eg7qw Maybe because we know that Angel isn't better in anyway except rebounds and most of those are being given to her by the other team not guarding her in sny meaningful way! CC might have a lot of turnovers but most of those occurred as at the beginning of the season when she and her teammates were trying to learn how each other play! Those have drastically reduced over the last 10 games until she only had 4 in the win over Liberty and just for the record a Triple Double 🏀🤫😎

Exactly. You are the person who touches the ball the most you are going to lose the ball more. Also everyone's defense is built to try and stop you. You get everyone's best. Also you have to get in a flow with a new passing angles. A lot of balls lost on good passes for the simple reason you're not expecting it
