TAKE NOTE...if you live in the UK, the clearance distances do NOT apply.....it is 400mm side and 500mm rear in the UK. Apart from that, it was great to learn some extra things about this fab stove!

Brilliant. I live in Shropshire, not too far from the Esse factory (at least closer than Australia.) I've had my Bakeheart about a year, and at last you've provided the explanation I need for how to run it efficiently!! And yes, it is a lovely stove, though I've never been able to work out how to get it up to the highest temperature, so thanks again!
The video showed 3 small chickens in the oven. Can you fit a large chicken from a UK supermarket in the oven? Or say a turkey for Christmas dinner? Seems deep but not very tall.
Would you comment please on how well this functions to heat the room or your house? I really want a woodburner that I can cook on and in, but it's primary function has to be the efficient heating of our home.
Hi Greg, great video and just what I needed. My bake heart was fitted last week and I have been trying to get the oven in the the really hot zone but failing miserably. Found all your videos and watched them all, but this is the one I needed most. I will be doing my best to cook Christmas dinner on the bake heart and with just a 3 days to go, you have just increased my confidence tenfold. Thanks from a not so sunny Staffordshire in the UK.

Getting the Bakeheart oven to a higher temp than 150degrees Celsius needs you to fire it up really high so I can't come near it and needing me to open al the doors of my house in order not to get baked myself. That said, ovendishes work great and cookies to! I would buy it again!
Hi there! If you're having difficulty standing in front of your ESSE Bakeheart, placing a fire screen over the towel rail in front of the firebox reduces the heat coming into the room by 80%, allowing you to stand in front of the firebox without issue. Also if you have too much or too little ash in your firebox, that can affect the heat transfer to the oven. ESSE recommends 20mm of ash for best heat transfer. Hope this helps, and we're glad you're happy with the Bakeheart, and the cookies it produces too! :)

Hello, we connected our Bakeheart with a flixible metal pipe to the cellar to take the air not out of the room but external. But when it's cold, there is a lot of condensation. So much that the floor is getting so wet that we thought having a leak in the roof of the conservatory, but it seems to be only condensation. The small part of pipe from the stove to the ground is very cold and wet and even the bottom metal of the stove gets really wet. Is there a way to use the external air (it's even not really external but cellar) without having this problem?
I'm really loving what I'm seeing. I grew up with antique US made wood cook stoves. I'm looking for a really efficient wood cookstove. I'm in the eastern US. Any dealers here? Or can I get a wood burning Esse shipped?

Hey Greg, the video says only 130 mm as side clearance but the test result document from home heat association (ASFT20054-1) indicate 325mm side clearance . Which one is correct?
Hi > Its 130mm if the cupboard is equal or lower and the height of the unit ( 900mm) if your cupboard ( ow wall ) is higher than the unit ( 900mm) the distance is increased to 325mm Hope this helps 🙂
