Review :
This has become a staple item within my fire kit. Before I began testing this out, I pegged this to be somewhat of gimmick but folks, that was my mistake. I’m about as experienced of an outdoorsman that there is and I love this tool and that is what it is. A valuable tool! This is purchase that I wouldn’t regret as it’s incredibly simple and incredibly useful.
I’ve used to get my fires going, I’ve used it to bring my fires back to life, I’ve used this to create smokey burns to get rid of bugs. I have used this to focus heat to boil my water faster.
Buy it!

I have one myself and tried it out over Father's Day weekend. I was very impressed and had no trouble starting a fire. I even used it on one half of a split log and a coal and carved out a bowl for my son. He and I took turns and we both had a lot of fun. I will most likely order a few more for my bugout bags and backpacks.

LOL I've been using a half inch piece of EMT electrical conduit as a bellows for my fires for years now. Being that I car camp a lot I don't need the telescoping feature and I use my battery operated air bed pump to blow with so I don't get dizzy. I can get the coals hot enough to glaze pottery and melt glass. For a hiker I can see where the telescoping feature is handy. Don't let kids play with it though. They can accidently suck in hot coals. Not good.

Very cool. I've been carrying an 18" length of aluminum arrow shaft with me. But this is definitely worth switching it out for one of these.

Just a heads up. There are much cheaper versions of this available now. Received one(of the knockoffs) in a flint and steel starter kit today, and was impressed enough that I just ordered 10 for $13. For my use, paying 12x as much(for a made in USA product) would have broken the bank

the v3 pocket below is an awesome piece of kit. I combine it with my Emberlit twig stove....they make a great pair for getting a roaring fire going....even with wet conditions.....definitely a MUST HAVE
@MetePurphy
@MetePurphy 2 года назад
Same here. I had mine with twig stove and I found it to be brilliant by not replying on accelerants and fire starters. I like the even if you are not direct you can still breathe life back into the dying fire. So good I even bought a larger one!✌️

Got mine as a gift from my spouse, so I had no idea it costs 15 bucks. (I’ll definitely look in dollar store for that magnet or back-scratcher thing.) Best new kind of gear item in years! Used it on a winter camping trip a few months ago and it was terrific!

Just got mine today and look forward to using it. Usually I put the thumbs and pointer fingers of both hands together to form a little hole to blow through, and do it that way, but it’ll be nice not to have to get my face right into the fire. By the way, the fingers work very nicely so I have high hopes for these!

I think rubber hose / surgical tubing or nylon tubing would simply be good enough. this telescopic metal tube has only one use. Tubing would have many practical uses. I don't need this telescopic gadget.

I went to the dollar store and bought a telescoping shoe horn. I broke off the shoe horn and melted off the remaining plastic inside the tube (don't breathe in the fumes) by candle flame and removed the grip. I bought it for a dollar and it extends 24 inches in length. Works great!

I do like that it's collapsible... but I just use a 12" steel pipette I bought on eBay like 6 years ago. Does the job and I just use a couple little rubber caps on each end so it doesn't poke through any of my gear.

I have it, absolutly saves my beard haha. I've found it useful for tinder bundles and charcloth on the ground. I still prefer the cupping method and a good Ole fashioned birds nest. another plus is embers on a cold fire. this helps to get them glowing again.

I was bellowing a fire in my backyard yesterday with only my lungs. There are two benefits to using this pocket bellows: 1) my face isn't 6 inches away and 2) concentrated air at the tip means airflow goes where I want it.

Or you could get a stainless collapsible straw off Amazon. You can get three for $9. Sure they're a little bit shorter but with the included silicone mouthpiece you can link them together. Or you could go to eBay and buy 1 of these 19 inch bellows for 2.27 a piece, or 4 for 1.82 a piece. Sure it takes awhile coming from China but in the meantime I've got my Amazon stainless straws.

WAY over priced! 12 - 15 dollars and they can't even get the measurements right. I don't have money to burn (pun intended) so I went to one of those dollar store clones, and bought a $1 telescoping little back scratcher, removed both ends and there you have it! You can have a bellows for each fire kit you have for less than the cost of one of these.

Indeed, tubing is a very common bellows. This is slightly more breath-efficient (the narrowing of the tube makes the air flow faster) but it's not enough to fret about. A bit of tubing is very common. This packs up very smartly though.

These are too short. Of course they work, it is an antenna missing too many sections. Should be 6" to 8" longer. I am sending this back. It is not worth the price. I am now looking into getting a thicker, longer telescoping radio antenna. They are cheaper. Just cut off/remove the base end and voilà. I will update this comment if I find one that is longer and performs the same function.
